Given that John (the "mastermind" of Orchid Electronics) offers such value-for-money to customers, with a diligent attention to the craft of audio electronics – you'd almost be forgiven for expecting some kind of catch. Perhaps the customer service will be poor; perhaps he'll be hard to deal with?

And yet, John also happens to be one of the warmest, most accommodating folk in the business, who (literally) extends a warm Devon greeting with every email, and goes out of his way to ensure that you get kit that fulfils your needs.

Orchid Electronics is a practical company providing niche market products to the music industry. I purchased a Microphone Mute Lite a few years ago that has worked flawlessly. Recently, I added a tally light from OC White to my microphone boom arm and wanted it to integrate with the Microphone Mute Lite. I contacted John Godsland to inquire about the custom work and he replied immediately. He designed the modification based on the tally light specifications and manufactured the integrated product. He did this all in the span of 5 days which is amazing. The design, documentation, and integration wiring are fantastic. It's an absolute pleasure dealing with Orchid Electronics.
