Shady and expensive return policy and poor quality. I ordered a jacket and hat, looked great on the website - not so good in person. Leather is paper thin, literally. Everything made in China. I returned both in the original packing; they said I only returned one - complete lie. Never refunded me for the hat - that is a way to make money. Anyone else had this experience?

First and last time customer due to an antiquated return policy. 1. You have to call Customer Service for an approval to return the item. Their call center hours are poor. 2. Although item was shipped in a bag, I was instructed to return it in a box. 3. The best- 20% restocking fee.

I can’t even remember the last time I heard about that policy. Circa 2000? Who runs this company?

Another very poor return experience. It's too long a story, but trust me, beware of their unfair and unyielding return policy. It's a couple of decades behind other online retailers. I'll be shopping elsewhere.

Ordered two shirts in my regular size. They came and were huge so I exchanged for a smaller size. The smaller size came and I do not like one of the shirts because is shows your under arm revealing my undergarment. I called to return and their policy is no return after an exchange. So now I have a brand new with tags overpriced $35 shirt that shows my bra. Outback Trading just lost any future business from me.

I ordered a $18 hat band (order#203548) that looked very nice on the website but not so much in person. I requested an RMA to return it to find out that they charge a $8 flat rate shipping fee. For an large item, that would be a good deal but not a tiny little hat band. I could mail this myself for less than $3. They give you a label to print out but I don’t own a printer or even a laptop. I have no printing capabilities thru my phone. I called their 800 number but they were already closed. I’ll try again tomorrow and see if they they will allow me to mail it back without their label. I wish the product was better quality because this has been a total waste of my time.

Update 5/13/2023 I spoke to a customer service representative. She said that I would be charged for the $8 shipping charge even if I pay for the shipping back. They make no exceptions for the item being returned. She recommended keeping the item because it wasn’t worth sending it back. That’s the key to the shipping charge, make it not worth returning and it’s a win win for them. If you return the item, it’s a win win for them. I will check the return policy on any future online purchase before hitting the buy button. I will never do business with Outback Trading Co again.

I'm sorry to have to write this review, and I don't very often take the time to review products, but I wanted to warn people about the Outback Trading Company. I purchased a oil skin jacket from Outback thinking it would be a jacket I would have for years to come, but sadly it looks like that is not going to be the case. They advertise the jacket as a tough jacket used in the Outback, but I live in the city, and only wear it to go out with with my wife, so pretty much just a car jacket. So you can imagine my surprise when my wife pointed out a 2" tear in the jacket. Now that it's torn, I can clearly see that the material is very thin. I don't think the jacket is two years old yet, and when I reached out to Outback Trading Company, they basically said sorry over a year old, and out of warranty, and they would not do anything to help, and suggested I take it to a tailor. It didn't take much digging to find out these jackets are not made Australia Outback, they are out sourced to China. Please be aware that you a buying a cheap jacket that will not stand up!!

Made in China .using Australian names to trick a purchase.BEWARE.

Bought a jacket from them on line that I'd tried on in the store. Needed just a bit more shoulder room, and the store didn't have the next size up. The sleeves were perfect on the one in the store.
Got the jacket, and the sleeves on the BIGGER jacket were NARROWER by 3 inches. They were so tight that the sleeves bind, and ride up, making them 4" too short.
They'll take the jacket back, but want to charge me for shipping. This seems like a defect to me - either a mistake in the sewing or using the wrong size sleeves. They won't budge - even after 20 emails.
A manager told me that this is the way they're designed!
I know it is hard to get good help these days, but Outback Trading Company needs to try a little harder. Nobody designs their bigger sized jackets with narrower sleeves.

Update: I left a one star review of my jacket on the Outback site. Funny - they took it down. I guess only 4 or 5 star ratings get to stay up!

Do not buy anything from this company. They do not care about customer satisfaction at all. Though stated in the exchange policy you have one chance at an exchange. (I did miss this, my bad there) If the items still do not fit correctly you are stuck with the product. No exchange or refund for returning the products. I've never heard of this, ever! Reputable companies make sure their customers are happy with the products they purchase. This is not a reputable company. They even blocked us from Facebook because we called it out there. They are running from the truth......NOT REPUTABLE AT ALL!!!!
