Delivery experience was horrible
Delivery experience was horrible. Was told next day delivery but didn’t come until three days later. I had to keep calling the Customer service with promises that it would arrive the day after and be prioritized for AM delivery but it didn’t come until the next day. There was no way to track my delivery on the app or even text message or email updates so I had to do the chasing myself. Was quite disappointed cause I chose to shop from here based on the delivery options available so I was quite disappointed and I doubt would be ordering from them again.
However, the wardrobe arrived in one piece, very good quality. I assembled myself but it took couple of hours. The instructions were quite clear and simple to follow. You will need an extra pair of hands to lift the wardrobe up. But I must say, i love the wardrobe overall. The delivery experience just made it hectic

We do rely on third-party couriers to complete our deliveries and, while the vast majority arrive within the expected timeframe, unfortunately delays can occasionally occur within the courier network which are outside of our direct control. We’re very sorry that on this occasion your order did not arrive when expected and that you had to chase for further updates.
Tracking information is provided once an order has been dispatched and can be entered directly into the relevant courier’s tracking system for their most recent updates. However, our Customer Service Team are always more than happy to assist with tracking or contact the courier where further information is required. We are sorry that the communication and delivery experience on this occasion left you disappointed.

⭐ 1 star — Extremely disappointing quality and customer service
I deeply regret buying from Own Furniture and would strongly discourage anyone from purchasing from this company.
I assembled the chest of drawers carefully, but the carcass is extremely unstable and the top section actually comes away from the carcass when the furniture is pushed or moved. This is not a minor amount of movement — the unit does not feel securely constructed.
I sent customer service a video clearly showing the problem. Their first suggestion was to fix the supposedly freestanding furniture to the wall, which I refused as this isn't practical in my room without cutting away the skirting board.
They then asked for photos of the back and claimed it had been assembled incorrectly because the locking cams had supposedly not been fitted properly.
The problem is that the locking cams do not properly lock and pull the sections together, leaving the carcass loose. I have assembled plenty of flat-pack furniture, and my partner is a professional kitchen fitter. We have never experienced this problem with other brands.
Instead of acknowledging a possible problem with the fittings or the product itself, Own Furniture chose to blame the customer and suggest wall-fixing or professional assembly.
If you're considering buying from Own Furniture, I would seriously think twice. Based on my experience, the quality of the furniture is extremely disappointing and the after-sales service has been even worse. I would not buy from this company again, and I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Following the video and photographs you provided, the issue was reviewed by both our Technical Review Team and our Director. From the information and evidence available, they determined that the fixings and cam nuts had not been fully pushed into position and tightened during assembly. This would prevent the components from pulling together and locking securely as intended, resulting in the movement shown in your video.
We completely appreciate your comments regarding this being a freestanding piece of furniture. However, the assembly instructions supplied with the product do also specify that the anti-tip restraints should be fitted to secure the unit to the wall. This is a safety requirement intended to reduce the risk of the furniture tipping and does not mean that the unit should otherwise rely on the wall for its structural stability.
We are sorry that you were unhappy with the outcome of our assessment. Our intention was certainly not to simply place blame, but to identify from the evidence provided what was causing the movement and advise how this could be corrected safely.

Very poor service
Very poor service, items never turned up at the agreed delivery date or time, after four days they finally arrived. As these goods were late in arriving they were to be returned, however the packaging was very badly damaged. So when I tried to get the items returned I was told photo evidence was needed of the damage goods not the outer packaging. I tried to explain they arrived late and no longer needed to be told I would need to pay a return fee.
The website states I can refuse the items at delivery which I didn’t know at the time or I would have done so.
I am now in a back & forth email war trying to get these items returned, but they need evidence they are damaged inside, although they arrived late and no longer needed, the return isn’t to do with them been damage or not it’s because they arrived late !
Wish me luck, I won’t be using this company again that’s for sure.

We're very sorry for the delay you experienced with your delivery. Your order was dispatched on 8th September but unfortunately became caught in an unexpected delay within the courier network. This certainly isn't the service we want for our customers and, while we do rely on third-party couriers to complete deliveries, we fully appreciate that this forms part of your overall experience with us.
We're also very sorry that the outer packaging arrived damaged. Our packaging is designed to protect the furniture during transit, which is why our team requested photographs to establish whether the products themselves had sustained any damage. At present, we haven't received evidence that the furniture itself is damaged or faulty.
As the reason for returning the goods is that they are no longer required following the delivery delay, rather than a fault or damage to the products themselves, this currently falls under our change of mind returns process and the applicable return charge therefore applies.
Our Terms & Conditions also advise customers to check their delivery upon arrival before accepting/signing for the goods, including the option to refuse a delivery where appropriate. These terms are available to review before placing an order.
We're genuinely sorry that the courier delay has resulted in such a frustrating experience and that you have been left disappointed with your order.

I’m very disappointed with this wardrobe. The overall quality feels very poor and flimsy, and the wood/plywood doesn’t feel strong or durable at all. I expected much better quality for the price. Unfortunately, I’m not happy with this purchase.

Terrible Craftsmanship, Brittle/ Breaks Easily
The thing crumbled as I was trying to put it together. The dowels didn’t fit as the holes were drilled too large, the black laminate comes off super easily too.
The design is absolutely shocking in terms of stability and material structure. I DO NOT recommend this product or any from this brand as I would figure they use the same materials and processes for each.

Do not purchase from these rip off merchants !!
Do not purchase from this company !!!!
If I could give this company zero stars I would...I bought wardrobes from them and they are all faulty you can't hang the doors there's no holes to do so !!!....they insist that they are dismantled and boxed for return however as they are glued together (as per manufacturer instructions) this isn't possible.
IV contacted customer services they are less than helpful and repeatedly insist I box them !!!
Trading standards however have informed me that as the fault only became apparent during assembly and they are mostly assembled already and taking them apart as they are egkued doesn't allow them to be packaged....under the consumer goods act of 2015 (I'm well within my legal 30 day window) they have a legal requirement to collect them assembled as the fault only became apparent when it was teg tage to hang the doors there was no holes !! They are refusing !!
At this point I feel totally ripped off almost 500 quid for furniture I can't use !! And they refuse to help I asked a simple question as to how I can package which is impossible !! and they refuse to answer except to say that to receive their help I must comply with an impossible request
Repetitive scripted unreasonable customer service (or lack of) No refund.. no useable wardrobes they have literally ripped me off with goods that are only fit for fire wood !!!

We would like to clarify that we have not refused your return or refund. We are still more than happy to arrange collection of the wardrobes and provide a full refund.
As the wardrobes are currently assembled, our team has asked that they are dismantled as far as reasonably possible and packaged or secured ready for collection. This is because our courier requires items to be made safe for transport and is unable to collect fully assembled wardrobes in their current form. Our team has also provided guidance on how best to dismantle the items given that some sections have been glued during assembly.
We completely appreciate that the fault only became apparent during assembly and understand the frustration this has caused. We are not expecting the wardrobes to be returned in their original condition or packaging, we simply need them dismantled as far as reasonably possible and made safe for the courier to transport.
Our offer to arrange collection and issue a full refund remains open, and our customer service team will be happy to continue working with you to get this resolved.
