The whole process of the pension transfer was explained in great detail, any questions clearly answered which was a huge help, once I got to the stage of the recommendation I felt that my gained knowledge was sufficient to underline my initial decision to transfer out. My advisor was fantastic and helped me through the whole process whilst maintaining his professional approach to enable himself to reach a recommendation.

From Start to Finish the experience was very positive the systems used were easy to use it did take almost a month to get to the final pension transfer process. The only thing that could be improved was it took a week or so before I could get a telephone appointment, but other than that the service was excellent.

OMG THEY WERE GOOD!!! THEY HELPED ME SO WELL , they deserve a raise! Please you need to use them as YOUR pension helper , hope this helps!!!
Really poor service experienced, there appears to an air of arrogance with some of their staff who are not helpful if questions are asked about their services, it's almost a case of "how dare you question us" even though it's customers pensions and they are also dealing with a high level of personal information about their clients. A very unpleasant experience avoid pension help other companies out there that are far more helpful.
Not a good experience. Actual due diligence and process of transferring DB schemes went ok but then at payment time they made it very difficult. Poor communication led to frustration. Instead of acknowledging the problem and putting it right they simply blamed the other party.
Would not use this company again.
Use to transfer out of a defined benefit pension .
First part of the process was very good but the actual important part getting the money to me at times was very poor .
Plus they clearly need to get a better understanding of the tax implications because they are massive .
I was also given figures to how much money I would receive that were no near the figure I actually got .That is fact
Overall I’m in the region of 5-7 thousand worse off .
I was never told I would pay such high tax.
Yes I may be able to claim some of it back but the information they gave me on this was just appalling .
My advice find a company that has a better understanding of the tax implications it will save you thousands.
Just an update I took two cash lump sums split over two tax years this was supposed to lessen the tax implications on me .
I had two equal amounts paid I paid 6k in tax on the second one and a massive 10k in tax on the first one .
I was not advised of such severe tax implications.
Please also note I’m still in full time employment but am not a high earner ie earn less than 30k a year.
I was also told it would not affect my weekly wage from work and it has .
I suspect it could be another 2 years before my tax code reverts back to where it was.
For 23-24 tax year i started with tax code 1257l which most low to average earners will be on I finished the last 4 weeks on what looked like emergency tax and now in 24-25 tax year I’m on 877l not great.
Just as a side note contacting HMRC is extremely difficult 10 days in and still I’ve got no way .
I’m probably looking at 3-6 months before I’m likely to get a tax refund .
Again a lot of this is just poor basic advice from Pensionhelp on the tax implications.
The worse one I was never told my tax code would change and also was told I can claim some of the tax back only this is just not true .
Please make sure you find a pension advisor or company that understands the massive tax implications and tells you about them
I used this company to help me move a defined benefit pension into an alternative more flexible scheme. The whole process was very well run, extremely comprehensive checks, with friendly, knowledgable, efficient and helpful professionals, who clearly know their stuff. The 3% charge is absolutely worth it, they took care of everything and all I needed to do was check the reports they provided, work through some questionnaires and phone calls, sign and all done. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
Due to an extremely grave financial predicament needed assistance in accessing my DB pension at 55. Pensionhelp provided guidance, a full financial review and ultimately facilitated the transfer to a DC scheme on an insistant client basis. Cost: 3% of the transfer value. Mr Bamforth was especially pleasant.
Very disappointed at the initial engagement stage from this company.
After a connection through my financial advisor I was expecting a contact but there was no introduction or even a first call. Just an email with links and then an expectation for me to run through a set of forms and documents. When I speak with the email sender expressing my concerns I was offered to speak with a manager to get this first contact off to a better start. Instead they disengaged with me !!! astounding. Customer care is clearly not a priority. More "just" about their process
