I've had the Petal 2 Card for several years and things were flawless. Approximately one month ago, I woke up to emails from Petal about fraudulent charges. I disputed those charges and just like other customers, I was on the hook for more than 75% of the balance. Customer service was no help whatsoever
AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE!
What a SCAM! STOP NOW! Don’t APPLY! They offer a credit limit increase as soon as you activate your card and link your bank account within 30 days! Problem is! You can’t! Took them 65 days to get me the card! Called them multiple times and got BS responses. This is one I’ll pay off on the first payment and close quickly! The APP is a JOKE! Like a 13 year old created it! Highly recommend you AVOID this scam! Never been so DISSATISFIED with a credit card company in my life! If there was anything LOWER than ONE STAR, I’d submit it! -10 stars. I’m contacting FDIC, FTC and BBB as soon as I have time!
Terrible Fraud Protection – Stuck Paying for Unauthorized Charges!
Terrible experience with this credit card company! My card was stolen and used for fraudulent transactions, yet they only credited back a small portion, leaving me to pay 75% of the unauthorized charges. Their dispute process was unhelpful, and customer support did nothing to fully resolve the issue. If you want real fraud protection, avoid this card at all costs!
To build or not to build with…
Current happy customer!!!! Petal has an extremely sound credit card and even better service! Petal and it’s employees/associates are able to notice and handle most illegitimate transactions before they are allowed & are super fast in communicating with the card user to keep such things from occurring in the first place. A time or two I brought an issue to Petal and it resolved without further hurdles or hassles. Petal is phenomenally helpful and truly deliver when advertising they’ll help build your “credit” - from nothing to something and fairly quick as well.
***they do have an annual fee but what they provide for that is WELL WORTH IT! Easy to establish credit especially for the1st timer or beginner to the credit world. Terms are easy and credit is pretty quickly gained and held….

I was trying really hard to get past their little game they have to increase credit, I did everything right On time payments and sufficient payments for 6 months, but it's just a game it never happens they will make intentional mistakes that keep you from getting past the 6 months. I had them for several years I gave up on the game. I was trying to build enough to get my roof replaced, never going to happen. This is not the only CC that played games with me being on time . I was never able to accomplish my goal to get enough credit to do what I needed now I had to take other measures to fix my roof putting me deep in a hole forcing me to consolidate all my cards I tried not to include the ones that did the right thing but what can I do im not letting my roof collapse because of a game.
Negative 100 AVOID THIS SCAM
Negative 100. This card is as close to a scam as you can get. And the customer service is pathetic and non existent, if you can even get someone on the line. It's actually more helpful if no one picks up at all, and certainly less frustrating. There is no scenario that it makes sense for anyone to get this card. And once your balance gets high, they introduce new fees and monthly charges to trap you. Even closing the account hurts you, which is how they force you to pay. If a comet hit earth and landed on their building, I would thank God for the blessing.

Just close my pedal credit card. Not just because they started charging the $8. But my credit card got compromised twice told pedal about it. They did reverse the charges. Then, 3 months later, they reversed the charges. I called Uber up and told them what was going on. Uber didn't have any recognition, they said we would reverse the charges. Then, when I closed my account with pedal, they turned around and charged me 2 and a 1/2 months later? So beware with pedal, they're not veteran friendly and just be careful.. I asked them to send me proof where they said.I owed Uber the money that they were charged 9.90 a month and they couldn't so people beware.They make up their investigations , then all they save if you don't get back to us days to charges will stand. Pretty much said tough luck. Service country for many years peddles forgotten where they come from. No one's of them. It's nice. They do speak english but very disrespectful

FCRA Violations by Petal
WEBBANK/PETAL has been inaccurately reporting my balance to the three credit bureaus, which constitutes a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Despite previous assurances from Petal, the issue remains unresolved for several months now. Despite multiple attempts to dispute the balance with the credit bureaus, PETAL has failed to rectify the situation and continues to provide false information.
I have communicated the financial hardships caused by this violation to Petal on several occasions, highlighting how it has significantly impacted my family's housing situation. However, PETAL has yet to take appropriate action to correct the inaccuracies.

How I wish I had read these reviews before signing up with this company. 8 dollars a month for awful service, on top of a very high interest rate. Petal used to be just ok but now they are putting an even heavier burden on those least able to carry the weight. Shame on them for their greediness. I wish I'd never open an account and will be paying it off ASAP.

Avoid this company at all costs. And for current or former customers who are dealing with the $8 membership fee plus late fees and finance charges assessed on a balance that consists of ONLY the membership fee, please file complaints with the BBB and most importantly, the FDIC. This is borderline predatory lending and they need to be held accountable.
Absolute class-action lawsuit level scam
Absolute scam. Class-action level fraud. For starters, they will randomly decline purchases for no apparent reason despite plenty of available credit and nothing suspicious about the transaction whatsoever. There is no way to flag the transaction as valid. Customer service is closed on the weekends. Customer service employees are horrid, awful, rude creatures. Customer service employees have no authority to approve transactions. When you make a payment, it can take 1-2 weeks to post and show available credit. Company is likely running on fumes and creates all sorts of ways to reduce their liability in terms of you actually using their credit card that you are paying an $8 /month membership fee for. Don't be tempted. Stay away. Far, far, far, far away from this useless "credit card."

Customer service us intolerably rude. I filed a dispute for a rental scam. Petal closed it without even looking into because they wanted a new address as proof. As I told them, I'm living in my truck and don't have a 'new' address. They refused to reopen the case, or file a new dispute. I tried to explain what proof I did have, but the little wench just hung up on me.

Horrible experience with Petal "fee free" credit builder credit card. Took less than 5 minutes to apply and get approved, but years later they pull a Bait-n-switch and start charging a $8 monthly membership fee...but worse they have made it near to impossible to close my account. The app is useless when it come to closing your account. It directs you to call, but puts you on an eternal hold. 7 times I had to hang up after being on hold for over 20 minutes. I reached out via the apps Contact Us but never received any response. Finally after waiting on hold for over 25 minutes with my phone on speaker. I received the worst customer service. Was threatened that if the $8 fees imposed on my zero balance account were not paid, late fees and other charges would be added. The company is supposed to be a "Credit Builder company" and is pulling a bait-n-switch credit card scheme. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this failing company.
