Please avoid purchasing Peugeot and…

Please avoid purchasing Peugeot and their service plan. My 23 plate 408 already requires a new timing belt. Given the mileage and age of the car this is incredibly surprising, not mention that it should be under warranty! I have been informed that despite me purchasing several Peugeots all with service plan, this would not be covered as service fell outside of milage threshold at the point of the first service. This was no fault of my own! This was due to them being very busy and not being able to get me. No support what so ever.

Purchased quite a few cars over the years and not really had a bad experience until we used this dealership. Great service during the sale but after the purchase that’s where it ended. They didn’t complete the paperwork with regards to the service and breakdown cover that came with the car. Chased numerous times, all to no avail. In the end we contacted the CEO of Peugeot and very shortly after they started giving us the service we should have had. That then changed but within a short time the same thing happened. We then had issues with the software being laggy, never detecting the key etc then when you’re dealing with a dealer that doesn’t ever get back to you, it’s time to accept defeat. We sold our brand new car after 4 months, which we lost quite a bit of money on and switched to another manafacturer. The difference is night and day. I’d never buy or recommend a Peugeot again after this experience. Peugeot in Chichester.

Known Fault, No Support – Avoid Peugeot!

Just after my warranty expired, all the warning lights on my Peugeot e208 dashboard lit up. Took it to a Peugeot dealership, and before even looking at the car, the man at the desk said, “Sounds like the ABS harness – it’s a known fault.” Sure enough, that’s exactly what it was.

Despite this being a widely acknowledged issue (confirmed by multiple owners on Peugeot forums), I was still forced to pay for both the diagnostic charge and the full cost of the repair. I later found out that at least one person had received a 50% contribution from Peugeot for the same issue, so I contacted them directly. Their response? Complete fob-off, telling me it was down to the garage, not them.

A Peugeot dealership might handle the repairs, but they didn’t manufacture the car – Peugeot did. The fact that they refuse to take responsibility for a well-documented defect is disgraceful. I’ve owned Mercedes, VW, and Cupra before, and all of them have handled faults far more professionally.

I won’t be buying another Peugeot, and I strongly advise others to think twice before doing so. Terrible customer service and zero accountability!

warranty expired, Peugeot don’t want to know!

Bought my Peugeot 3008 Allure brand new in 2016, dealing with Robins & Day, Maidstone. Dealership moved, and Stellantis reared its ugly head.
They won’t update my Connected services Sat Nav and Traffic Information system as the warranty has expired, so after 2 attempts to get the correct info from the dealership in order to buy their subscription, I bought a flash drive and uploaded what I thought was both sat nav and traffic info. The sat nav has updated but I’m still no further on with traffic info. After speaking to the dealership today, I was given another phone number for Stellantis Customer Service for Connected Services.

After some time on the phone, I’ve now been told that my car is too old to be updated. It’s only 8 yrs old, not 18 for heavens sake….. What’s going on Peugeot ???

Any chance of you supplying me with my new car in September has well and truly gone out the window if this is how you treat your customer base.

I fully realise that other customers on Trustpilot have MUCH bigger issues than my gripe, looking at the reviews online, but it’s things like this that will lose you any future business from us. Can you really afford to ignore your customers issues in this day and age?

I lease a Peugeot 3008 diesel

I lease a Peugeot 3008 diesel. It’s nice to drive, plenty of power, lots of space.
However, the oil quality sensor forces you to replace engine oil & filter around every 6k miles or it goes into limp mode. Try and get Peugeot to carry it out and be prepared to wait 2 months. Not just my experience, RAC told me it’s standard with these. I use as a company car and it’s a real pain to my business. I’d never touch Peugeot again. It’s either a huge defect or designed to make money. Either way it’s crap!

I was sold a peugeot 208 2014 by David…

I was sold a peugeot 208 2014 by David sheppard, at peugeot garage bluebell motors dublin. I paid 9,500 euros for it, within a fortnight the vehicle literally, started to fall apart. I returned the vehicle no less than 11 times to "have it looked at". The reason for this being, the vehicle was an import from England, had been in 2 accidents, which damaged the suspension, and had multiple engine faults. I was obviously not informed of any of this by Mr sheppard, for obvious reasons. I've gone through cancer, a horrible thing, Mr sheppard never made it any easier, just sniggered any time I contacted him. I have to say, this individual is an absolutely despicable vile person to have to deal with, didn't care I had cancer, took the money, sold a literal piece of scrap, and told me to deal with it. Please don't purchase vehicles from this person and his garage. The complaints department and head office are a joke.

No help from Peugeot UK

After buying a used VW Up GTi & getting no help from Gateway Peugeot I complained to Peugeot UK Customer Relations in relation to the withheld information in relation to the vehicle and the fact I believe Gateway Peugeot ignored Consumer Duty legislation.

Their response was staggering. They’re unable to help as I didn’t buy a Peugeot from Gateway Peugeot! Despite the fact I purchased a used car from one of their dealers. They were simply not interested. No wonder Gateway Peugeot act in the way they do.

This has caused me such considerable stress and anxiety that although I wish to take them to court, my mental health is more important. I have raised this matter with Peugeot UK CEO and Linda Jackson, the CEO of Peugeot.

I am now stuck with a car that Gateway Peugeot knowingly withheld information about. I will have to pay to have a new standard exhaust fitted, at considerable cost.

Whilst I would advise everyone to avoid Gateway Peugeot like the plague, I recommend that anyone buying a car from them asks them are there any modifications or issues they are aware of, ask them to confirm their answer in writing.

In addition I would urge you to read the consumer duty legislation of 2023 and how companies like Gateway Peugeot should treat their customers. I believe they didn’t follow the legislation with me.

If you need help from Peugeot UK chances are they’ll do nothing.

If i could give zero stars I would.

If i could give zero stars I would.
My Peugeot 3008 wouldn't start and my dealership (under warrenty) sent it to the derby branch to be fixed.
They were told both by myself and my dealership that a fault on the BSI had been found and this should be looked at, between us we had 4 opinions that all said the same, RAC, Autoelectrician, mobile mechanic and the tow truck guy.
After 2 weeks and a complete run around by Peugeot saying they couldn't find the fault and that all they could find was a relay had been damaged, they finally found the fault and guess what.......it's was the BSI.
I've been without my car for 6 weeks now because of this, just a joke.
I'm not convinced they have solved the issue as they said the adblue had come up with a fault and had probably been driven to empty at some point, but I have only done 600 miles in this car since I purchased it 4 months ago. I had no errors about adblue before they started messing with it.
They don't get back to you if you call, noone answers and you go through to a central call centre.
Over 2 weeks and could have been sorted on day 1 if they had listened to the 4 opinions I had that all said the same thing.

DONT BUY A PEUGEOT 5008 1.2 ecotech

Bought a Peugeot 5008 in June 2022 for £25,000 mileage was 39,000, it broke down within 12 weeks, faulty timing belt. Took them 6 months to repair with every excuse under the sun, blamed covid for the unavailability of timing belts. Eventually sorted this issue. In 2023 the car needed discs and pads around still very low mileage to require this working to be done. December 2024 car broke down again mileage is only in 62,000 and it now requires a head gasket replacement and another timing belt as these models run on wet belts which need changing every time you do something with the engine. ( such as oil cooler, vacuum pump, head gasket) whilst the look and design of the car is great and the seat configuration is excellent for bigger families, the engine and build quality is appalling as is the service and help from Peugeot, they want to charge me £409 to investigate the fault on my car, the warranty is pathetic, the technical data on the 1.2 eco tech engine confirms that the build is extremely poor and there is severe wear on the pistons which means the 1.2 eco tech engine uses excessive amounts of oil due to the wear of the pistons. This in turn add to maintenance costs/expenses. My car has been dealer maintained but yet the head gasket has failed. Maybe even tampered with. Who knows.
My advice is NOT TO BUY THIS CAR you will have constant problems. I’m currently creating a file to take Peugeot/ stellantis to court as the vehicle is not fit for purpose. Anyone with similar issues with this make a model please get in touch, the more of us the better the outcome.

Why are UK customers not offered what other EU countries are ???

I wanted to buy an E-Rifter and was really surprised that the spec for the premium GT model does not have the option of heated drivers seat whereas in other European countries the GT model has Ergonomic 6-way Electric Comfort Drivers Seat with heat and massage function !!! Why have UK customers been left out ???? It has put me off buying this car and I would ask Peugeot to take note of the discrepancy.

Marshall Peugeot St Neots

Marshall Peugeot St Neots

It is with sadness that I write this but I feel that people locally should be sighted and be very careful when buying cars from Peugeot St Neots.

My mother in law sadly passed away over Christmas and the most problematic part of dealing with her affairs was returning her car on lease from Peugeot.

Peugeot and a number of other vehicle companies use a finance company called Stellantis Finance which is also part of the same motor group. When my mother in law passed I contacted Peugeot who gave me the Stellantis phone no. In short I have spent over 25 hours on the phone with numerous back up emails to Stellantis. To say that they have been unhelpful is an understatement.

Stellantis gave us four options to resolve the finance on the car initially:

1) Pay the finance of £18k off on it
2) One of us take over the finance agreement
3) Return the car they would sell it at auction and we would be liable for any shortfall
4) Pay half the initial agreement of £14k to come out of the agreement.

Despite me explaining that my mother in law was very independent prior to death and insisted on getting her car on her own but was sure of anything happened to her the car would be returned, Stellantis simply weren’t budging.

I then called Peugeot St Neots and spoke to the manager Ian. I asked for his help which really was a waste of time. At one point in the conversation I suggested that my mother in law thought we could just hand the car back if anything happened to her and she clearly didn’t understand the agreement that she had entered into, his response was that he is 72 years of age and he understands it so she should! If this is the way the man wants to speak to a grieving relative then there is little hope
A few hours later I received a phone call from another chap at Peugeot offering to buy the vehicle for £16k but stated the relatives would be responsible for the outstanding monies (just over £2k)

Having done some research and learnt that we are not responsible for this debt after death I emailed Stellantis again and explained the situation fully. It has taken them over two weeks now and they still haven’t made any decisions or communicated fully so this afternoon I dropped the vehicle and keys off at Peugeot and relinquished any further responsibility.

The point of this email is to explain that my mother in law was 78 when she signed this agreement, in hindsight we should of insisted that we went with her but at that time this wasn’t her wish. She had dealt with staff at Peugeot a few times over the years but on this occasion she clearly didn’t understand things as they stated and also didn’t take in fully the contents of the long detailed agreement. For someone of her age I would hope that the salesman would take time to ensure that people understand fully any agreements they are entering into.

Be very careful people of purchasing anything from Peugeot St Neots. I have explained the issues that we have had over this and I would hate for anyone else to have to go through what we have.

With every good wish.

Mark

The worst after care I've ever experienced

4 month old vehicle
22k spent and fully under warrenty.

The dash board and on board computer goes down. This means I can't see my speed or if if I need an oil change, if my car is over heating and about to blow up. I have zero visibility.

They will offer no courtesy van until their is a diagnostic. If I die in crash during the 19 day period until the next appointment is available, I hope someone does take legal action against Peugeot on my behalf. To spend that much and offer no service or no solution or to not offer any money for van rental to keep me safe. I have to work to feed my child and pay the bills. I can't NOT drive a vehicle. They care not about peoples lives, only about money and this is by far the most painful "after care" I've ever experienced.
I will never buy a Peugeot or Citron vehicle again.
Will do my best to get this in the press if I can.
The delivery was shambolic too.

PEUGEOT ARE NOT HONOURING warranty

The vehicle was purchased from Peugeot Rochdale

The camshaft chain repair has been declined due to the vehicle going one week over servicing time as i could not get the car in for service as they were busy
The Emissions fault on dash again, as it had been in for this problem the day before and I was told it had been fixed so it had to go back. The technician suspects the diesel injectors are worn and have caused consequential damage to the diesel particulate filter due to over fuelling. The engineer for Peugeot Extended warranty has carried out assessment and confirmed the DPF was rejected as it doesn’t cover DPF for consequential failure, so would only potentially cover the injectors

the bill is heading towards 5,000 pounds now I'm absolutely devastated the car is very low mileage its only done 36 thousands miles so none of these things should need replacing at such low mileage ,the stress of all this is just awful I never thought Peugeot would treat me like this I had the extra warranty as they said it would be a safety net for me if the unthinkable happened but now I find out that the warranty is worth nothing I'm so upset ,I'm not sleeping and have been crying on the phone to Peugeot for a few days now, I'm just so shocked that they would do this .

e2008 battery poor 100% charge

e2008
I will keep this brief but in doing so, I will have to miss out on specifics, but I am aware of winter/summer charge differences!
my e2008 is not yet 2 years old, although had done 25k. I noticed that I could not charge it above 180 miles, despite when new charging it to 214 miles.

This is nearly a 20% reduction and so I was concerned and content the Coventry branch. I was told this was all ok and within 'their' spec. although their spec. is not advertised anywhere for this time period. (the EV battery reduction norm is no more than 2.5% per year).

I got a battery check which I thought would included battery health check but all I got was a technician saying yes it's charging and yes within their spec.

Peugeot's spec is to 166 miles in the summer for 100% charge for a car 2 years old when it was 214 when new...a 22% reduction!!
How can that be acceptable?
All I got from the manager of Coventry was I was assuming too much when I took it in for a battery check?

If one has to wait 6 weeks, as normal procedure, to book in for a EV battery check, then one should assume it will be done fully if the car is this old! I was told it would cost more than £150 to do this.

I have bought some 12 plus Peugeots…

I have bought some 12 plus Peugeots over the past 8 to 10 years, all from brand new and include, 108s, 208s, 2008s, 308s, 3008s and a 508SW - some for my company sales force and many for myself, my wife and also grown up children. All have been been serviced by a main agent, Arbury Motors of Bromsgrove. I am unaware of any major problems and indeed most have been 100% trouble free over the 3 years that we hold them for before upgrading. In business I used to run Mercedes S350 saloons at a cost that now buys me nearly three 3008s and I struggle to find much difference in comfort, quietness and most surprisingly reliability. The current model range is attractively styled, uses quality materials in the interiors and apart from some quirkiness in setting up and getting used to the dash settings I am more than content to remain with Peugeot and see no reason whatsoever in spending far more money in returning to Mercedes, BMW or Audi - all makes that I have ran before and none of which proved to be trouble free. I have no connection with either Peugeot or Arbury Motors and have faithfully reported my knowledge and experience of the cars that I have owned. Some of the reviews as listed are so far away from my experience of the cars and the dealers that we have and continue to use, that I can only express my amazement

Bought a brand new 2008 at Christmas 2020.
Its been fully serviced and looked after. Its done less than 15,000 miles and just had to have the wet belt replaced at a cost of almost £600. Not only did the customer service team not care but were quite rude about trying to make a complaint or take the problem further.
Why isn't there a proper complaints department or procedure ? Ridiculous to put a perishable rubber belt inside the engine and keep it in oil. At least if it has to put inside the engine , which I can't think why it has to be, why not use a chain ?
Will be getting rid of the car and will not be buying another peugeot if i've got to worry about major problems at 15,000 miles
