We had a 80 foot tree fall during our latest wind storm on a neighbors property that was then resting (being held up) on one of the PG&E power lines. I called 911 as power was out over a bigger area and I did not have a cell phone network. Within 20 minutes PG & E's sub HW was on the scene and they were great! They managed the site and communicated very well with all the neighbors. They stayed all night to make sure all the other subs were well managed and to make sure we were all safe. PG&E made a great choice in selecting HW for this important storm response. Thank you to everyone who helped.

Johnny was an excellent technician. Very knowledgeable and thorough with his work and very considerate !

Date of service 2/18/2024. Technician is Johnny. Extremely polite technician. Wished my wife well to me as she had major surgery. 5 star completely professional,efficient and respectful of my family and our home! Really appreciated Johnny’s quietness in regards to his replacing our meter on the outside of our home to not disturb my wife from just being recently released from hospital after her surgery! I will end this by saying, “My family and I (Steve) , thanks Johnny and PG&E for all that was done “. We are truly grateful for Johnny’s professionalism. 999 Sapphire Way

My bill in 2 months went from 150 to 336.

My bill in the summer of 2023 was $78 as I live in a one bedroom apartment that is so small, I pay $700 for rent a month. My bill went up in December from 112 to 187, and so I started to use less energy and save. The next bill I got in Janurary was 252 even though I turn off my heater and all electricity for hours a day. I am using so little electricity at this point in my tiny apartment, and I just a $$336 bill!! $336- AN $84 INCREASE IN A MONTY AFTER ANOTHER 100 INCREASE!!!! I can not pay this bill and so shut off my power and will never pay PG&E ever again. I watched them raise their rates by 17%, then 13% on TV but in reality they are charging so much. To pay for their mistakes too with their lines. Do not give any of your money to these people, they are stealing from us and making us broke with infinite increasing!!!! $336 a month for a one bedroom apartment.....PG&E needs to be never used by anyone!! Search local power, use Pioneer, message representatives and ask for a cap. They went bankrupt in 2018 because they are a bad company, do not use them!!!

Customer Svc is the LAZIEST I have ever…

Customer Svc is the LAZIEST I have ever seen! Problems are NEVER RESOLVED. I make a pymt, I get ZERO emailed confirmation, even tho ALL the appropriate options are in place. This is the THIRD TIME I have had to call in this problem (happens EVERY TIME these ***** claim to "IMPROVE"??? their stupid website!). I WASTE 20 min on hold, only to have to opt for a call back. Another 10 min. gone. When call back comes, what do they do?...waste another 15 min. making me hold while they go thru EVERY OPTION that I HAVE ALREADY CHECKED (note: they assume all customers are ****** for not checking off 'email me' option!). So after that I get the: 'can't help you, have to transfer you over to tech' (which is what I asked for in the first place!!!). Now they expect me to hold AGAIN until a new idiot finally gets on the phone! I state the obvious: after wasting more than 1/2 hr of my time ALREADY, you have ALL my info, you KNOW what the problem is (again, THIRD TIME reporting this!...and STILL continues to happen, so obviously they didn't do ANYTHING prior!) so JUST FIX IT! There is no need for me to HANG on the phone listening to you 'typing' while NOTHING ever gets fixed! So I have to hold another 10 min. while he types up a ticket, and what is the outcome? Today I get an email saying " this type of transaction cannot be completed through our online service"....and I'm suppose to call them AGAIN!! Funny how they NEVER have an issue TAKING your money, but acknowledging it thru a simple email these useless tech ****** can't handle it! THEY ARE A USELESS LOT and I will be SO GLAD TO BE DONE WITH PG&E when I MOVE OUT OF CALIF. (Like most of the residents have, or will be, doing!)....CALIF. is a MESS and PGE is the BIGGEST CORP. ROBBER of all time! (THEY START THE FIRES while the public has to pay for it in prices that NEVER STOP INCREASING!!!). If you DON'T live in Calif, STAY AWAY!!! You'll be doing yourself a great favor to your SANITY AND WALLET!!!

I am writing for a friend without the internet. She was pleased by the service technician's (Mike) visit today. He was courteous, he was on time and he explained the necessary repairs and improvement in an understandable manner. She is happy there will be no extra charge for the update to the infrastructure. Web site blows

Web site blows. They could care less. In fact it probably keeps us at bay. PGE is in bed W CPUC - which is 4 women and 1 man making decisions for the entire state of a CA. CPUC is lobbied soo hard - and PGE can do now wrong as a result. It's corrupt. PGE is too comfortable. Needs valid competition to hold them accountable and allow for choices. CA consumers are screwed by prices paid. Look at rates by state for therms of gas or kwh for electricity. It's sad. We Californians pay a lot for all resources and get little in return.

Price increase too quickly

How to get away from PGE. It is the reason why I get paid higher yearly however spending power goes down. If they keep raising prices times higher than inflation, It is not difficult to for them to take all the after-tax salary in a few years. My bill increases by a few times in just a few years. It is hard to get extra 100 dollar per month after tax and insurance, etc after one year's work. and PGE takes it away. If you look for ways to save on their website, it is really difficult to save >5dollars, even though it says they are working hard to save for their customers. Their rate will never go back.

If I could I would give them a -5. They are one of the very worst websites that I've ever encountered and I have been on a lot of them. And talk about service! Have you ever tried to get to a real live person on the phone at PG&E? Good luck!! And their rates just keep going higher and higher. (I actually gave up opening an online account at PG&E. I've wasted enough time with them.)

PG&E had one of their 'usual' outages…

PG&E had one of their 'usual' outages in my area yesterday that lasted from noon until 3AM so our house was hot, we could not perform the usual chores and we had no internet.
I have lived here in Sonoma Co, CA for 30 years and only in the last 10 years has this become commonplace. It's a management decision there to not really care about service and customers so much now, only that they prevent fires. That is good to prevent fires but they still are in the business of providing electricity.
Interesting when I call the outage line they tell you to go on their website when I have no internet. They also don't miss a chance to tell you how to pay you bill in so many ways!
Really a poorly managed company to the core! And that woman spokesperson/Pres. who makes millions of $$ is all show. That's PG&E, one of the worse corporations in America!

PG&E has a monopoly on energy and take…

PG&E has a monopoly on energy and take advantage of rate increases every time they can. Does it cost more for the energy? Not in my area. It actually costs less since they're using subsidies and renewable energy. Do the employees working there get paid more? Nope. Just the greedy dirt bags on top. Inhumane what as a company they are doing.

What kind of company contributes or…

What kind of company contributes or completely at fault for some of the worst wildfires in California history and then turns around and charges their customers for upgrading & repairing their equipment? And, all the while paying their executives 10s of millions in salary and benefits? PG&E are modern day pirates and con artists. I can't believe how shady these people are. I say "people" because it's the people making the decisions that are the problem.

They are even trying to raise rates for projects designed to reduce climate hazards. Not to mention my biggest pet peeve, adding fees on for just being connected to the power grid because more and more customers are turning to solar to try to reduce their utility bills. They SUCK.

If northern California could only band together and force some real change, then we may all once again get a good nights sleep in "fire season." But that will never happen because corporate greed almost always wins.

Illegal monopoly

After trying to push the cost of the damages caused by the Santa Rosa and Napa fires.
As well as other damages this company has caused to their customers.

They have been raising costs ever since and claiming that it's because of costs going up. No.

Why is SMUD around the same area not increasing?

Unfortunately I can't get SMUD because you own an illegal monopoly on the power grid and gas here.

You don't perform proper maintenance on ANYTHING below ground.

Your rates are absolutely bankrupting my family just trying to live day to day lives.

Our bills are coming out to around 1.5k A MONTH

That is absolutely ridiculous for my area.

You're scam artists and I pray you get sued into the dirt and you never get bailed back out again.

pge is a greed company

way to many power cuts because pge refuses to insalate the bare coper wire that goes to my naborhood and so far pge ony cuts trees and one time the transformer brock to my houes and my dad needed to call a news agency to come and do a segment on it so pge would finaly do it and it still tock 2+ weeks for the to get up here and do it

HORRIBLE

HORRIBLE ! ! ! IM 68 and I need to talk to a person about my problem and PGE won't let me talk to someone? PGE has always hated us the customer, they cause fires and burn down our whole towns and cities where we live and now a person 68 yrs old they don't wanna hear my problems? this is not the way God planned it?our safety depends on a business that doesn't even care about us? it's SAD

Reasonable urban service, lots of rural outages

I have two PG&E accounts, with very different experiences. At my suburban home, service is pretty good, although the scheduled outages during fire season can be challenging. In 2020, we were without power for five days in a row.

At my rural cabin in northeastern California, there are frequent outages, both scheduled and unscheduled. Clearly, the original power line installation through forest is vulnerable to high winds. However there have been four scheduled outages in the last three months, and two of them have been moved at the last minute. This makes it challenging to make plans for spending time there.

I've had to purchase generators for backup power at both locations. This shouldn't be necessary, especially at my home.

Not reliable and Terrible monopoly

Not reliable, keeps shutting down everyone's power because their infrastructure is not maintained well or is really old and not replaced with new infrastructure. Yet they like to blame us citizens and the government for these problems. Hope the government becomes smart to give PG&E a bunch of competitors so they actually have incentives to be better.

I have been with PGE for 30 years

I have been with PGE for 30 years. Yes, they are high, but all utility companies are. And I live where there were bad fires. I don't blame PGE. They were dam if they do and dam if they don't. So that all being said. Maybe the top of the company hasn't been on the best behavior (as the movie shows), but our local workers are great. They replaced a pole on our property and did a small bit of damage to our road. Within 30 minutes, after the worker reported it, we had a rep on the phone telling us to get a quote and they would pay for it. We got the check in a week. The workers were super nice too. So remember, because a company does something wrong doesn't mean all that work for them is the same. And no, I don't work for them nor know anyone that does. I just appreciate that they stepped up when there was a problem.
