Despite requesting wadding and backing to be left on quilt following a long arm quilting service it was returned overlocked at 1/4" so I was unable to apply the binding I wanted to. When I called I was greeted with 'well in 20 years it's how I've always done it.'

I have had a great experience with Quilt Direct. Sue has been absolutely wonderful in assisting with getting some Horn cabinet inserts organised. The website is also very useful for other quilting notions and competitively priced.

We had a wonderful two days learning about our embroidery machines. The staff were excellent and very knowledgeable. They especially looked after Annie with her broken elbow. They are amazing……. Thank you

I’ve just come back from a fantastic Bernina 990 Boot Camp with Quilt Direct, and I honestly can’t recommend it enough.

Katherine, our tutor, was absolutely excellent. She explained everything clearly and in a way I could genuinely understand, which made such a difference. The pace was just right, and nothing ever felt overwhelming.

The boot camp format was brilliant – covering sewing, quilting, and embroidery – and it really helped build my confidence on the machine. I now feel I truly know my way around the Bernina 990, and it’s completely sparked my creativity.

I learnt so much over the course, far more than I expected, and being taught in person made all the difference.

As a lovely bonus, the lunches were delicious every day, and finishing with a cream tea on the last day was the perfect touch.

Highly recommended for anyone wanting to really get to grips with their machine and feel inspired again.

I first encountered the wonderful team at Quilt Direct Summer 2024, by chance, when I googled how to hire a long-arm quilting machine for the super king size quilt I was making. They are based just outside Tavistock but the 1¼ hour drive each way is always worth it.

Since my first introduction to them, apart from using the long-arm quilter (with the amazing Linzi) several times, I have bought a Bernina Embroidery machine (have to admit still learning that one!!!), Accuquilt Go Big and a number of dies, plus attended a few courses.

The team - from owners Katherine and the amazingly accommodating Graham, to embroidery guru Jo, fabulous Karen and her Accuquilt knowledge, Charlie who could sell coals to Newcastle and the aforementioned Linzi (to name a few) - are truly supportive of all crafters whether you are a veteran or a starter.

They are happy to speak to you and offer advice over the phone and, if there is ever a problem, they will resolve it immediately.

Prices are very competitive. I have used them before and had a similar positive experience. Easy to place an order with quick dispatch and delivery.
