Karol reached out to me regarding an inquiry I made regarding a 545k refi. I asked for info via text for a rate. when I asked if that was with points she refused to give me a answer and got very rude stating, I need to call her and this is not how business is conducted. I just wanted to know if points were added but she texted back "good luck but if you cannot do business our way we cannot help you". REALLY??? I was looking for some info but she insisted if I did not call her we were done here. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH RATE- pushy and rude and there are plenty of good honest lenders to work with

The previous owner was 2 years behind on taxes and paid at closing. Rate thinks this is what we owe yearly and is charging our escrow as such even though we provided proof otherwise.

You guys suck! I haven't even made my first payment yet, due 5/1/2026, I went to setup automatic payments, and I get an email that you already sold my loan to another company? That was a fun phone call... the other company answers the phone with "This is a debt collector, and any information used in this call will be used to collect your debt" making me feel like I did something wrong or don't pay my bills! You can shove it!!!

Terrible experience. Wouldn't lend because we have 40 acres not less than 20. Why? Had to call. They don't know. Offered to have us view Property Valuation Report; none was available.

If I could rate -5, or even -10, I would.
They still call a year later...idiots.
The belligerent phone calls, asking about my mortgage, when it had been passed to our buyer a year ago, was sickening. It woke up me, my daughter, and my wife night after night after night. Robocall on steroids. I hate this company with every fiber of my soul.
Oh, also, when they were bidding for our money when we were buying...utterly, sadly, incompetent.
I can't wait to hear about this thing going into bankruptcy.

My experience with Rate was stress free. I Applied for a loan and within two weeks was approved and funded. I highly recommend Rate!

Rate Insurance has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. They never communicated about my auto policy renewals, which led to my account being overdrawn three times. When I reached out for help, they pushed me off to Travelers, and Travelers then transferred me to my previous agent. I requested monthly payment they took a full lumpsum. No one took responsibility, and I wasted hours trying to get answers.
To make matters worse, they quoted me an outrageously high premium on my two cars, even though I’ve been a safe driver with a spotless record for over 20 years. This is unacceptable. The lack of transparency, poor customer service, and inflated pricing show they do not value their customers.
they focus on how to make commission. If you want peace of mind and fair treatment, stay far away from Rate Insurance.

Three weeks after we closed Rate.com sold our mortgage to a third world company. Our tax escrow is incorrect. They will not correct it. Rate walked away. After telling us how great they were to get our business they tossed us aside like trash and left us to deal with this sub standard company.

The whole process was easy to follow and straightforward. I would highly recommend Rate.

This was my 1st time using Rate. I had the pleasure working with Kia Gostovic. Kia and the entire Rate team were exceptional. From start to finish, they walked me thru each phase of the online process with patience & thoughtfulness in what was best for me situation. I could not be more satisfied with my experience. If you are looking for a fast, fully online service lender with excellent customer support --- Rate is your choice!

I would not use this company again. Throughout the process multiple officers got our numbers wrong, then AFTER we closed the sale they decided a hud inspection is needed due recent flooding in the county that didn’t even touch our home. Funny how the flooding was known BEFORE signing but this inspection, which we don’t want, wasn’t mentioned until AFTER.

Guaranteed Rate uses third rate appraisers that will lowball your property. Not just lowball, lowball and then refuse to change. I purchased a home in Oxfrod Ms in May 2024 for $422k, the appraisal came in at $337k causing me to have to put more than $50k additional cash. Six other units in complex has sold for more than the $422k since closing. Worst mortgage company ever!

Supossed appraisal review desk does not exist, the appriaser was hired via a website and never responded.

If you feel like being screwed use rate.com, if you want to deal with professional o somewhere else.

I purchased my home in Texas Rate team in Texas was amazing but there was turn of events. These crooks at Guaranteed Rate in Chicago were in control of my escrow money. The Director of Renovations John Meadows of 3940 North Ravenswood Chicago Illinois 60613 denied the release of my funds and I was stuck with a contractor bill I'm still paying for to this day. I was a first time home buyer and I was treated unfairly. John Meadows, Caitlyn McMahon and Janelle Miller are some of the most unprofessional racist people I ever encountered in my life. Very heart breaking to move in a home; and find myself in debt behind home repairs that were allegedly covered by escrow funds. I wish the very worst for these people.

Jack Kelejian lied As I understand since I run a business and I write off everything it will be hard to get me approved, but my girlfriend was on it as well and she has a 700 score. Jack told her she does not make enough even though she makes 7000 a month and she would Not be able to make the payments by herself. two days later we went with New American funding. They pretty much told us the same thing as Jack told us except they took me off the loan and kept me on the title and that got her an extra $10,000 because she’s a nurse for closing cost and we were approved for $257,000 loan is in a rural area so it is FHA approved as well. I honestly believe you all at Rate you need to do a little bit more to get the sale!!! I also understand you all have so many people calling in, so maybe you don’t care as much

It is a great experience because Ultrapro has me a chance to invest and it has not been long I had about them.

Do not trust these people they will lie in your face. Go somewhere else take your business to another mortgage broker do not use guaranteed rate. You will regret it if you do.

They ask me to take a loan.i said sure I have a few credit cards that are up there.zo I said I wanna pay off credit cards.come back and tell me no my credit cards are to high F..K YOU

What a nightmare working with them in NJ on a refi. I would give them negative stars if i could. I'm not sure i've ever seen a company screw up the process, lie, and take zero responsibility from the top down. Stay far far away from them

I had a terrible experience with Guaranteed Rate specifically with Joseph Nowacki. He was very unresponsive the entire process and everything took so long. I called this gentleman 5 times, left voicemails, emails and text messages. No response or return call. He did not communicate with me or review mortgage numbers with me. He rushed my realtor off the phone when she tried to speak with him about a potential property. Unseasoned and unprofessional. I told him about my concerns and he got defensive telling me he has over 60+ clients a day. I was put off by the is statement and felt like 1 in a dozen and my loan was not important to Mr. Nowacki. I went with a different lender and closing. Never work with them if you want a personalized and genuine experience with purchasing a home. Their loads are too large.
