Great car with first-class after-sales support
My son was looking for a new car and saw an Audi A4 for sale by RCS on AutoTrader. It was a perfect fit for what he wanted. We had no prior knowledge of RCS but were encouraged by their AA Dealer Promise. We test drove the car and, after an inspection, my son went on to buy it. We had a good experience with the purchase; Jim was very friendly and helpful.
However, within 24 hours, we noticed that the coolant level was constantly dropping - suggesting a water leak. We had the car inspected and serviced by our local Audi dealer who confirmed a water leak. They also found a couple of other defects that were not obvious when we purchased it. We raised these issues with RCS and, from the start, they were incredibly receptive and helpful and promised to rectify all the issues free-of-charge. In fairness to RCS, they had purchased the car from an official Audi dealer (in the South-West of England) and, despite that dealer having done an inspection and service, the Audi dealer had either failed to find or declare the defects before selling the car to RCS – very poor indeed on Audi’s behalf. (RCS showed me a copy of the service/inspection report provided by the Audi dealer). That left RCS financially exposed but, right from the start, the MD, Chris, gave us a total commitment to putting it all right. We returned the car to RCS and it went in to RCS’s chosen garage. All parts fitted were Audi parts – we were given a list of all the parts ordered from TPS. Chris even got involved in sourcing and purchasing a part himself because TPS were out of stock of this particular Audi part. Some of the work was more difficult than anticipated and the car had to go to a local Audi dealer for some of the work to be done – yet more expense for RCS. Whilst the car was away, RCS provided us with a courtesy car free-of-charge. Chris personally managed the work and provided us with regular updates. On return, all the issues identified in the Audi inspection had been fully resolved.
The team at RCS were incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the whole process and turned what have could have been a negative customer experience into a highly positive one. Based on our experience, we highly recommend RCS and would say that customers can buy with confidence knowing that, if there is a problem, RCS will take total ownership and, with no quibbles, sort out the issues at no charge to the customer. We were very impressed that the MD, Chris, personally managed the process and we found him very friendly and helpful. Overall, we have had a very positive experience with RCS.
