Rent Hero got me my deposit back even before going to court. They always listened to my wishes and closed the case in only a few months. They keep quite a high percentage of the money you get back but they also guarantee a no-win no-pay scenario that is quite convenient.

Alex was recommended to me by a friend and helped me to get my rent reduced. Great advice, really good communication, very forthcoming and the whole process was perfectly orchestrated. Everything was handled by Alex including rent assessment, land lord communication, rent control board communication and settlement.

I was lucky enough that the whole case was settled with 1.5 months.

Thanks to Alex and Mads at Rent Hero, we won my case and reduced my monthly rent from 11,800.00 DKK to 7,562.50 DKK (66m2 apartment). Unfortunately, early negotiations with the landlord failed and the case had to be submitted to Huslejenævet. After 19 months of waiting, we finally received the verdict, which was successful (as predicted by Alex and Mads). Not only did I receive backpay for all the overcharged rent (including the deposit amount), but I also received interest on the sum owed.

Alex and Mads know all there is to know about rental law in Denmark, and for an expat that doesn't know the Danish language, they were super helpful with every step of the way. There was no bullsh*tting, and I always felt like I was in good hands. They provide two options for payment, either an hourly rate or a no-win-no-fee base, both of which are reasonably priced. They also provide an upfront assessment of your rental contract and building to see if they can help you out before signing up to anything.

While it is possible to submit a rental case to Huslejenævet yourself, without Rent Hero, I wouldn't have had a clue on how to navigate through it. Knowing that you have someone looking out for you the whole time gave me a strong peace of mind. They're worth every penny (or øre).
