Cheap service.

I reported that my lease started 12/2023. Mark only reported 2025. And did not report 2024. I paid the money for this to be added to my report and now I only have 1 year of actual rent reported. Not very user friendly. Hard to understand due to language barrier. Not get the accurate information. I was not even given any information about additional charges.

Rent Reporters, you are not a customer, you are a victim.

On March 29, 2026, at approximately 9:10 a.m., I initiated a payment of $274.95 to Rent Reporters to secure annual credit reporting services. This payment was to facilitate expedited reporting within a 3-5-day period and to address two previous rental accounts. My investigation into the implications of this service revealed that my prior rental properties were classified as commercial, specifically that both apartments, including one at Studio 6, were categorized as commercial properties. This classification came as a surprise to me, particularly as it was not disclosed on the Rent Reporters website.
Given my status as a permanently disabled individual living on a limited income, enhancing my credit profile is essential. Shortly after making the payment, I reached out to Rent Reporters via their application and followed up with an email detailing my situation and requesting a refund. The next day, I called their customer service and spoke with an agent, who informed me that the call was being recorded. During this conversation, I reiterated my refund request because their service is not applicable to my situation. The agent indicated that because I had provided my unit number, a refund was possible, but it would be processed only after a 7-day reporting period.
Subsequently, I sent two additional emails requesting the refund, but received no response. This lack of communication raises concerns regarding Rent Reporters' corporate governance standards. They were made aware of the specific circumstances leading to my refund request almost immediately, but chose not to fulfill it. This scenario reflects several issues, including a lack of transparency, inadequate disclosures, and potentially deceptive business practices.
The company's conduct raises questions about unjust enrichment, failure of consideration, violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and negligent misrepresentation. By accepting payment for a service that was ultimately unsuitable for my context, and then delaying the refund despite immediate notification of these complications, Rent Reporters exhibits a troubling approach to customer relations. This is compounded by the backgrounds of their leadership—John Simpson, Heather Smith, and Mark DaBell—who come from reputable organizations such as Deloitte, suggesting a disconnect between their corporate ethical practices and the standard of accountability expected of their leadership.
In summary, my experience with Rent Reporters has been disappointing. Their treatment of my case reflects a broader issue of corporate insensitivity towards consumers, particularly those who may already feel marginalized in financial contexts. Corporate governance, ethical and principled governance, and valuing those who choose you over a myriad of other companies, is not going to be offered at Rent Reporters. I rarely review, but when I do, it is because I want others to be informed. For those considering using this company, do not. For those who have experienced similar mistreatment, come together to fight back by responding to those, like me, who are not going to be a victim.

Warning: Paid RentReporters for Credit Reporting — 6 Months Later Still Nothing.

Title: Paid for service — months later nothing reported and no refund

I strongly advise anyone considering RentReporters to think twice before giving them your money.

In September 2025, I paid RentReporters to have two rental accounts reported to the credit bureaus. This service is marketed as a way to help build credit by reporting your rent history.

It is now March 2026 — over 6 months later — and absolutely nothing has been reported to my credit.

What makes this worse is the lack of accountability:

• No reporting to the credit bureaus
• No refund issued
• Extremely difficult to reach anyone for help
• Complaints filed with no resolution

I have documentation, receipts, and screenshots showing the payments were made and the service was never delivered.

A company should not be taking people’s money for credit reporting services and then leaving customers in the dark for half a year with no updates and no refund.

If you are trying to build your credit, be very careful with this company. My experience has been frustrating, time-consuming, and a complete waste of money.

Until RentReporters fixes this issue or refunds customers for services not delivered, I cannot recommend them to anyone.

WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY SCAMMERS

Complete waste of time and money I signed up back in October they said it'll take a few months before I'm able to see the report on my three credit bureaus I can say after multiple months all I see is on the one and it only reported for one month the month that I signed up all the other months that I've been paying zero has been reported these guys are a bunch of con artists they're customer service is terrible and sucks they have no proper direction all they do is try to blame the credit bureaus I reach out to the credit appears they said that they have not reached out to us referring to Experian and Equifax they've only reported to one and only for one month they charge nearly $200 take your money elsewhere these guys are con artists and I will be reporting them to the FTC get my money back

They're quicker to reply to my review then they are to answer my questions or my phone calls 😂

They take your money then its nonstop…

Thanks for responding. I have written to Jacquelyn twice & chatted with Arlene A. 5 or 10 times & Martin 5 or 10 times. And Renissa once & spoken to Mark and someone else on the phone. When does it get fixed!? Everyone just says all they can do is pass on the message & your ridiculous verification team keeps coming back asking for a utility bill on a place that included all utilities which isnt in your original TOS. Now you have my money & still wont do your job!

They take your money then its nonstop issues getting my rent reported due to utilties included. Its like stealing!

They take your money with no problem and when they claim to not be able to verify docs they happily keep your money while closing your account stating that "it's in the terms of usage". If you don't provide a service, send the refund back, simple. Anything else is a scam and mal business practices. I see what the other people were talking about even though I still trusted you enough to try it out.. -

Before any rent can be reported, we are required by the credit bureaus to validate both the landlord’s identity and their relationship to the property. In your case, we were unable to verify the information provided and requested additional documents in an effort to complete verification. Unfortunately due inconsistencies identified during that review, we were unable to validate the landlord details, which prevented us from moving forward.

Our refund policy is outlined clearly on our website and in our FAQs. Once rent has been successfully reported, customers who decide not to continue may request a refund in line with our policy.

Our goal is always to help renters receive credit for their rent while adhering to bureau standards and maintaining accurate reporting.

I feel completely disrespected and…

I feel completely disrespected and frustrated by Rent Reporters. What they advertise on their website is not what they actually deliver.

Their site clearly states that cash rent payments are supported, that they can manually verify rent with the landlord, and that they offer a “no questions asked” refund if you are not satisfied. Based on these promises, I paid for their service in good faith.

After payment, they suddenly claimed my current address was a corporate address and used that as a reason to block the service. There is nothing clearly written in their policies saying corporate addresses are not allowed, and absolutely no warning that using one would make the payment non-refundable. This restriction conveniently appeared only after they had my money.

To cooperate, I added my previous lease with a residential home address. At that point, they had no valid reason to deny service. Instead of proceeding, they shifted again and demanded that I connect my bank account, even though I paid rent in cash, which they explicitly say is supported on their website.

They initially told me cash payments were fine and would be manually verified with me and my landlord. Later, they completely changed their story and declared both payments non-refundable, despite the fact that no rent reporting was ever started.

This feels like intentional bait-and-switch behavior. Every time I complied, the rules changed. When they ran out of excuses, they simply refused refunds and kept the money.

I do not trust their refund policy, and I seriously question the authenticity of their five-star reviews, because my experience is the opposite of what they claim to offer.

At this point, I am proceeding with a bank chargeback and will be reporting this company for fraud. Anyone considering this service should think very carefully before paying.
