Great company to deal with from start to finish, very efficient, friendly and we will definitely use them again without hesitation!

The customer service has been friendly and easy to get hold of. However, the collection has taken a long time I've had to chase at every stage of the process. The bags were left outside in the rain and are made of paper so the documents went right through them.

Customer Service and daily updates regarding job ,even though only collection of 4 bags! Explanation of job was helpful from everyone and they were so patient with all my queries regarding visit ,paperwork and completion of job. Have more bags for next use and would recommend. Thank you

I used to spend hours shredding the reams of confidential paper waste that my household generates. Being obsessed with security and the potential for 'wrong-doers' to take advantage of the personal information in waste, I knackered 3 (not cheap!) shredders in as many years and decided that there MUST be a viable alternative. Did my research, found Restore Datashred with good reviews and they have a base just around the corner from me in Southampton.

Ordered the five bag deal (which is restricted to a max of 6 months to collect) as this seemed the most economical option in terms of £/KG. The bags came in the post a few days later, are strong and really easy to use. Arranging collection was a breeze on their website.

I left the bags in a covered porch on the day. They collected without fuss and I received both a receipt and, several days later, a certificate of destruction.

Seriously, it's worth considering - you can dispose of all your household confidential waste in one annual exercise for a reasonable £60 (inc VAT). Cheaper and certainly less time / energy consuming than shredding (and of course replacing crappy shredders)!

I can't rate these guys highly enough - one very satisfied customer!

From inital info gathering through ordering and then the actual papers being shredded, Datashred were brilliant.

Destruction was carried out on-site. Driver was on time and the work was carried out very swiftly.

On Wednesday 20.09.2023 I paid Restore Datashred in advance for papers and documents to be shredded. I was assured that I would be able to drop them off at my local depot, near to where I lived.
On Monday 25.09.2023 I attempted to drop off the items but, after a long interval and numerous phone calls, I was informed that the depot was “unmanned” and I needed an appointment.
That same day, after contacting the sales agent, I was informed by e-mail that “The depot have informed we that we aren’t able to do the depot drop that we booked. The depot has advised the can collect the sacks on the 28th September – this, okay?”
I replied that we were moving out of our house on Wednesday 27.09.2023 and that it wasn’t OK.
After not receiving a reply, I sourced an opposition company who were able to carry out the service that afternoon and for half the price charged by Restore Datashred.
The same day I requested that my payment be refunded as Restore Datashred were unable to effect the service that I had paid for.
On Tuesday 03.10.2023 I notified the sales agent that I had changed bank accounts and the account used to make the payment would be closed at the end of the week.
On Wednesday 04.10.2023, after numerous e-mails chasing the refund without a satisfactory explanation, I received an e-mail stating that the refund would take place on Saturday 21.10.2023. The e-mail included a forwarded e-mail from the Senior Sales Ledger Clerk, stating “Unfortunately he has missed this batch, the next refund run is due to be sent on the 22/10/23.”
It would appear from that statement that it isn’t just my refund being processed and I am also at a loss as to how they will credit a closed bank account.
I am extremely disgruntled that a company can demand payment in advance but then take three weeks to refund their customer when the company is unable to fulfil their obligations.
The only reason that I gave them 1 Star was because there is no option for 0 stars!
I will certainly NOT be using Restore Datashred ever again!

Jacob, with whom I booked for my confidential waste to be picked up, was really helpful. He answered all my queries, explained the booking process, emailed me and even telephoned to confirm the appointment and to check I had all the information I needed. Throughout he was friendly, professional and patient. A credit to the company.

The collection of our shredding bags, hard drives and laptops was really straightforward. The driver was really helpful, friendly and efficient.
