Because There Just Isn't a Better Motorcycle Ins. Co. Out There

Been insuring through Rider since the days when you would go to Mr. Bleiwise's house on Green Lane and sit on his couch in the living room while he determined and explained the insurance needed. He would go to another room and print out the insurance card. Give him a check, a little chit chat and away you went. Continued when the company moved to Morris Avenue in Union and still with Rider in Springfield. How do you keep customers coming back since 1974? Great customer service and products.

There have been times when my motorcycle policy renewal slips my mind but someone at Rider would call and remind me and I could take care of everything over the phone. Now I get reminders in e-mail.

I recommend Rider to all new riders because there just aren't any better deals out there. Keep up the great work.

Basic basic..coverage

Basic basic..coverage, customer service and web access...if your lucky! Been a customer for 20+ years yet I still can't login. Policy number and name reconciliation but it won't work! Licence. name and DOB..no that won't work either.

The Understand Bikers!

This is a highly organized firm offering very competitive rates and a very easy web system for interacting with the the company. I feel like I am dealing with people who ride motorcycles themselves and understand riders. Fortunately, I have never had to call on them to service a claim!! That is where the "rubber meets the road." I hope I never have to, either.

Good price, easy to manage

I had a policy with Rider for almost 4 years. I had to cancel since I'm moving to an area they don't cover.

Price is good, policy is easy to manage. I wish claims processing was a little easier, but otherwise I've been happy with them.

Rider custoomer since 1993…

I have been with Rider since about 1993 and would never want to use another company for my bikes coverage. They have great rates and there has never been a time where I have needed to call and didn't get someone immediately on the phone. I like knowing the company covering my motorcycles ONLY deals with riders, and I appreciate that they don't spend all their money on millions of TV commercials nobody cares about!

Their web-site needs help.

I've had motorcycle insurance with Rider since 2008. However, I've never had to submit a claim. So the 3-star rating is strictly for their clunky web-site and my inability to pay online. I believe they supposedly have the functionality, but every time I've tried, I get to a certain point on the site and it reports the service as "unavailable" and to try again later. It's one of the very few bills I still have to pay by check and snail-mail. Otherwise, I can't really speak to their claims service.

We are sorry you have had so much trouble on our website. We recently released a new customer portal which is much more user friendly. You will need to re-register, since your old credentials will not work. Just go to the policy login screen and use the "Register Your Policy" link underneath the forgot your password link. You will need your policy number (only the letters and numbers before the /) or driver license number to register. Rider Insurance has the best rates! Rider rewards customers with discounts for safe riding. Customer service is excellent. I can always get representative on the phone quickly.

Absolutely impossible to complete…

Absolutely impossible to complete online by myself. Called for help and was walked through. If that didn't happen I could not have gotten insurance through you. Your IT people should be fired or retrained to understand that their system is terrible. I'm sure that you are chasing away paying customers.

first time i purchased rider insurance…

first time i purchased rider insurance was about 5 years ago, had just purchased a 2009 harley ultra classic, had full coverage. 18 days later i got rear ended by a dc cab in rockville,md. was at a red light, light turned green and the taxi behind me just took off before me and rear ended me. i was not hurt(lucky) but the bike had major damage. of course calling the taxi service insurance company for three days and got a full course run around and avoiding processing claim. contacted rider with all the information, pictures, whom i talked to at their insurance etc. i filed a claim on my rider insurance, they took care of the damage and went after their insurance for recovery..i had to pay my deductible , however ,they said i would get that back after they recouped the money from their insurance. one year to the day, they sent me a refund of my deductable as promised. happy with them. mind you i am no fan of insurance companys in general. but have found them to be a honest company that try to do right by their customers. so i stick with them.

FIRST TIME POLICY HOLDER

FIRST TIME POLICY HOLDER - NOTHING BUT TROUBLE FROM THEM AND I DO NOT EVEN HAVE MY NEW BIKE IN MY POSSESION YET! CANT GET UP WITH ANYONE AT RIDER ON THE PHONE, MESSAGE SAYING TECHINACL DIFFICULTY, OR PHONE JUST RINGS AND RINGS AND RINGS AND RINGS...NOT EVEN AN ANSWER MACHINE? REALLY RIDER?! I KNOW UR SUCKING IN THE PREMIUMS..THE LEAST YOU COULD DO IS HAVE SOMEONE WITH ENOUGH INITATIVE TO PICK UP A PHONE AND ANSWER TO THE CUSTOMERS WHOM U GLADLY TAKE MONEY FROM!! I PAYED FOR A YEARS POLICY UP FRONT, RAN INTO A "MINOR" ISSUE WHICH WAS RESOLVED IN LESS THAN A DAY VIA A PHONE CALL FROM THE COMPANY I PURCHASED THE BIKE FROM, SO U KNOW IT WASNT THAT MUCH OF A BIG DEAL, JUST AN EXCUSE TO SEND VERY "UNAPPRECIATED BOMBARDMENTS OF MAIL" LIKE FIVE LETTERS ALL WITHIN A DAY OF EACH OTHER STATING MY INSURANCE IS TO BE TERMINATED WITHIN A MONTH, (BUT THEY DID NOT SEND MY MONEY BACK TO ME!)! REALLY? HOW ABOUT A PHONE CALL?? WOULDN'T THAT HAVE BEEN MUCH BETTER?? UM, LET ME ANSER THAT FOR YOU, "YES"! ESPECIALLY FOR A FIRST TIME CUSTOMER??? "RIDER" INSURANCE HAS DEFFINATELY LEFT A VERY SOUR IMPRESSION THUS FAR, CAN HARDLY WAIT TO TALK TO A REP...THEY BETTER BE POLITE IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY, OR IT WILL BE ME RIPPING THEM A NEW ONE INSTEAD OF THE OTHER WAY AROUND, ACTUALLY, I'LL PROBALBY JUST FIND ANOTHER COMPANY TO INSURE THROUGH, THIS CANNOT BE A GOOD OMEN WITH RIDER.

Great coverage

Great coverage. But on my second year with them they went up $60 a year.

Great Company!!

I have had Rider insurance for 4 or 5 years now. The rates are good, and I like the fact that each policy comes with 8 thousand dollars of accessory coverage for your motorcycle. I have been very pleased with Rider and think they are a great company.

They were MUCH cheaper than anybody …

They were MUCH cheaper than anybody else I called for quotes. Knock on wood I've never had to file a claim, and I pray I never do, so I can't say anything on how they are to with as far as claims go. The only reason I'm taking a star away is that last year they reclassified my Yamaha FZ-08 as a sport bike which raised my premiums about 25%. The few times I've had to call and talk to a person I got through quick and easy and they were very friendly to deal with. Overall they seem to be a great company other than them reclassifying my bike and upping the rates.
