RTIC Soft Side Coolers are TRASH
I had a 30 can soft side cooler that was purchased in 2022. Very light use and was taken care of and not thrown around or abused. About 3 months in both tabs on the zippers broke, but that was ok because I just used a couple of zip ties to make it work. Now the zipper has come apart and will not allow the cooler to fully close. I reached out to their customer service and I was told there was nothing they could do. They didn't even offer a discount on a new one. I had the same issue with a Yeti soft cooler that was well over 7 years old and I reached out to Yeti and they sent me a brand new one and the upgraded model with the magnet at no charge, just straight replacement. I have posted two different reviews on the RTIC website and both of them have never been posted. I WILL NOT BUY another product from RTIC. If you want service and quality then spend the extra money and buy Yeti.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. I haven’t even owned my ultralight 52 qt wheeled cooler for two years. I had it in my truck bed full of ice and drinks for a softball tournament. When i grabbed the handle to turn it sideways in my truck bed one of feet attached to the bottom broke of exposing insulation. I thought no big deal, i will just contact customer service about having it warrantied. Try calling the number and am put on hold for 30-45. Finally was able to speak to someone about my issue. They asked if i could send photos. I sent them the photos, and received an email a little while longer saying it is not warranty. The cooler had to have suffered impact from a drop or something along those lines. I askex for an detailed explanation on where there is any sign of impact. Long story short dont buy rtic, yeti is good quality and will stand by their warranty, if ever needed. Rtic offers a warranty that can never be claimed because they will point the finger at the consumer rather than owning up manufacturing an inferior product.
I had a leaking seal on a 30 ounce…
I had a leaking seal on a 30 ounce tumbler. Since they do not have them listed for purchase on their website, I asked how I could get one, asked if they could send me a non-expensive seal. They said NO since the tumbler was out of warranty. The tumbler was purchase for Christmas 2025 and is only 5 months old. Great Customer Service and way to stand behind your product! I will never buy another Rtic product nor recommend them to anyone who asks me. Hope more people feel the same!
Zipper broke- they refused to fix or replace
Zipper broke on their 15 can cooler after 20 months of light use. RTIC would not repair or replace under any kind of coverage or decent customer service. Said they only have a 90 day warranty. Offered 20% off another one. This isn’t a disposable cooler. It should last more than 90 days or 20 months. We had been loyal customers, purchasing mugs, cups, and thermoses over the years. Had problems with some of them but they had covered it usually. Cooler is now unusable. No respect for our long term loyal service. We are now done with RTIC and will not make any further purchases there. They were perfectly fine to lose us over one defective bag and poor customer service.
Soft coolers are horrible quality
Soft coolers are horrible quality. The zipper falls apart very shortly after the item is out of warranty. It’s like it’s designed to fail after a certain time. Horrible customer service - they just tell you to buy another one. Don’t waste your money. Get a yeti with a longer warranty (3 years vs 1 year)
Bad service
Purchased 2 from Amazon and got direct ship from the RTIC only received one the other one show should be arrived month ago but never arrive. Im waiting from Amazon help my case.
Poor warranty and quality
Backpack cooler only warrantied for 1 year. Known defect in zipper pull. Company sells replacement for $15 shipped. They expect you to pay for the same low quality replacement part after a year. Would cost the company probably $4 or so to retain customer confidence. Customer service representative very unpersonable. Spend the extra money on a better product and company that will stand behind thier product.
Spent wayyyyy to much money on this…
Spent wayyyyy to much money on this cooler only to have it fall apart. Go to a yard sale and buy a $5 one, save your money.
Flimsy Cooler and Flimsy Warranty
Marketed as an "Ultra-Tough Soft Cooler", it falls way short of anything close to "durable" (another term RTIC uses). Their website displays the color being tossed off a cliff into a river. My zipper busted after casual use a couple of times and was unfixable. Unfortunately, it fell beyond their very short warranty period.
In fact, considering that most coolers are only used periodically, RTIC's warranty period reflects a lack of confidence in their products' ability to hold up. There has got to be another alternative to Yeti that is built better than RTIC.
RTIC Soft Cooler. Customer Service Failure
Another American company that doesn’t stand behind their product. Perhaps it’s because they’re made in China. When the poorly designed zipper went south so did RTIC. They will not do a thing without proof of purchase. Screw them. I’ll never buy their junk again.
Their management needs to attend Patagonia’s school of excellent customer service and back their product. All I wanted was a zipper I would have paid for but NO.
Poor Customer Service
I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment with a recent customer service experience regarding my Rtic 30‑Can Ultra Tough Soft Cooler, purchased in 2020.
For several years, this cooler has been my go-to choice, outperforming other brands in keeping contents cold and holding up well under regular use. That’s why, when the zipper recently failed, I was hopeful the repair could be covered under warranty. I was surprised to learn that my cooler no longer qualifies, but I was even more dismayed by the response I received. The representative told me there was nothing he could do and suggested I throw away the cooler and buy a new one. This solution feels wasteful and dismissive, especially since the cooler is otherwise in excellent condition. As a loyal customer, I expected a more empathetic and solution-oriented approach.
I understand that warranties have limits. It’s disheartening to feel that a brand I’ve trusted for years doesn’t stand behind its products in situations like this.
I chose RTIC for its reputation, but after this experience, I would like to know if I should have invested in a cooler with better long-term support, like Yeti.
Purchased ultra tough soft cooler 2…
Purchased ultra tough soft cooler 2 years ago and lid is coming unglued. Poor customer service as they only recommended me regluing lid. I personally have 3 yeti coolers and yes they are more expensive but I think quality and definitely customer service is better. Am considering large packpack cooler and RTICis out of the question
broken zipper first month
broken zipper first month. Warranty worthless. Over price JUNK.
DO NOT PURCHASE RTIC!!
I purchased a rolling duffle bag from RTIC and used it 4 times to fly. The 5th time the lower main seam blew apart and the bag was no good when I arrived at my destination. In fairness I was 6 months outside of the "warranty", however, the last nylon rolling duffle bag Iused (and still have) I had for over 20 years and flew dozens of times with it, it is still in great shape. I emailed RTIC and explained this as well as the fact I had to now buy another bag to fly home with. I also sent them photographs of the clearly faulty seam.
They gave me the double middle finger and said it's outside of warranty so too bad. They ended with "We wish you a wonderful day ahead." I will never purchase another RTIC product again. Product is garbage and customer service is garbage.
Excellent cooler
Excellent cooler, keeps the ice for days while camping. I love the way it looks and the rope with handle covers. Customer service is excellent as well very prompt and courteous.
Wish I could give zero stars
Wish I could give zero stars. Zipper broke on my soft cooler after about a year and a half and they would do NOTHING about it. For what you pay for their product it is totally not worth it. The yeti zipper is ten times better. DO NOT BUY.
Very disappointed
Very disappointed. They have no exchange policy for Christmas gifts. I wanted to exchange for more expensive item not just return and was told that is not acceptable.
the Soft Side Brown Cooler zipper…
I bought the Soft Side Brown zipper cooler 6 months ago. With very little use, First the zipper handle broke, then a month later the zipper broke. Customer service and warranty has proven my purchase was a mistake. After emails and phone calls they replace the handle.
Beware !!!!

Bought some ceramic lined 16oz water…
Bought some ceramic lined 16oz water bottles for my son for school, already chipping and barely used, conveniently they started chipping at 3 months... As soon as the warranty expired
I purchased the 32 QT Ultra-Light…
I purchased the 32 QT Ultra-Light Cooler. I used one time on a camping trip and came home to find a crack on the inside hinge. I reached out to RTIC who stated the it was not covered under warranty. I will not be purchasing anything else from this company who does not back their products.
