Avoid SAE Tweed/Kingscliff at all costs. SAE installed reverse cycle air-conditioning units throughout my house. They used brackets that rusted shortly after leaving rust stains running down the walls... Mehr ansehen

SAE recently installed a new solar system at my house consisting of 14kw of panels, 10kw inverter and 30kwh of batteries. The electrician who managed my install was incredibly knowledgeable in battery systems and explained all the available options and helped to design the perfect system for our energy needs. Our power bill has gone from $260/month to $0.95! The install team were on time, installed a neat looking system and cleaned up after themselves. The on site supervisor also helped to arrange an additional 5kwh battery module on install day which was bought out and installed straight away. There was a wait between signing up and having the install completed due to the volume of work generated by the government battery rebates but it's been more than worth the wait, this has been the best investment in our house we've ever made. Thanks SAE!

The process began with a clear and informative consultation. They took the time to understand my energy needs, explain the available options, and design a system tailored specifically to my property. There was no pressure or confusing jargon—just honest advice and transparent pricing, which made it easy to feel confident in my decision.
Communication throughout the project was excellent. The team kept me updated at every stage, from scheduling to installation timelines, and were always available to answer any questions I had. It’s rare to find a company that’s this responsive and organised.
The installation itself was smooth and efficient. The crew arrived on time, worked diligently, and maintained a clean and safe work environment. Their attention to detail was impressive, and it was clear they took pride in their workmanship. The system was up and running exactly when promised, with no unexpected delays or issues.

I selected SAE Group for my solar system as the salesman took time to explain everything to me and the office kept me informed of progress which I really appreciated. They were very professional with the installation of 28 panels and I was very happy with their work. Since then I have had a battery installed and it was a very easy process with everything explained to me in detail, I would highly recommend SAE because of their professional work, I also like the money I have saved!

Avoid SAE Tweed/Kingscliff at all costs. SAE installed reverse cycle air-conditioning units throughout my house. They used brackets that rusted shortly after leaving rust stains running down the walls of my house not to mention the unsightly brackets. SAE Refused to provide service. The Fujitsu air-conditioning units are very good however one had a continuous groaning sound. It finally stopped. Of course SAE wouldn’t have anything to do with it so I engaged an alternative company who found a piece of foam packaging in the fan area. Obviously left by the installers, SAE. I have now contacted SAE because the external conduit holding the electrical wires has failed and come apart exposing electrical wires. I don’t expect to hear from SAE offering to honour their warranty,
The sales team provided me with a quote of $270, which was signed, dated, and agreed to by both parties. The replacement part arrived shortly after, and I followed up with SAE Group to schedule an installation. Instead, I received a new quote—this time tripled to $750.
I asked for clarification, but the only response I received was “Please sign the updated quote.” I refused and requested an explanation. I was then sent yet another quote, now $500, still with no explanation as to why the price kept changing.
I attempted to contact customer service multiple times, leaving voicemails as instructed by their phone system. Three weeks passed with no response. When I finally got through to someone, I was told a supervisor would call me back—another week went by, and nothing. I called again and eventually got an explanation: their prices had changed, and an additional person was required onsite.
By that point, I was extremely frustrated. If someone had simply explained this clearly and acknowledged the mistake from the beginning, I would have been far more understanding. Instead, I was left chasing answers for over a month.
I pushed for SAE Group to honour the original agreed quote, and later that same day I received a call confirming they would. I was told they would be in touch shortly to arrange installation. One week later… still nothing.
This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. As someone with a background in customer service, I’m genuinely appalled. A simple apology, clear explanation, and timely follow-up would have made all the difference—but instead, I was met with silence, shifting prices, and broken promises.
DO NOT waste your time or energy with this company.

Richard from the Coffs Crew is an absolute credit to the SAE team he is friendly, knowledgeable, happy to answer any questions no matter how small and explained all necessary details.
I was slightly disconcerted by staff having a safety meeting for over an hour on our front veranda in the middle of installation ( bit odd place and time for inservice ).
The communication from office staff or those organising installation was at the best hit and miss. Also the waiting time from deposit to installation seems excessive. Once installed we paid immediately on that day only to be sent a please pay account 3 days later and yes proof of payment was sent in reply to previous email request, I find this a little rude considering the amount of time we waited for installation post deposit.
Mostly people were pleasant to deal with but the problem seems to be timing.

DO NOT USE THEM. Empty promises.
Great sales pitch and good communication before and just after paying my deposit. I received notification that all checks and certificates had been done and since then - Nothing. I have called a number of times and keep being told it's been pushed back and my installation date is coming. Weeks later still no installation date and I am two months past my original promised install date.
This is just disgusting no communication.
I have now cancelled the contract just waiting for my deposit to be refunded.
All good up to paying a deposit, now no one answer the phone or replies to messages - the one time I did get a forced call I was informed it would be a month longer than stated - still no update 4 weeks later. Starting to think this company is a high risk
To look into it simply try ringing your number - I have called 3 or 4 times a day for the last 8 days.

terrible experience, they installed a new system in jan 2025, after a few months the roof developed a leak, reached out to them straight away and asked for a fix, they said someone will come out to inspect, it took a few weeks and in the meantime the roof leak steadily got worse, after multiple attempts to deal with them they sent out a repair guy who just took photos and said they will go back to the company and ill hear back from someone, also had a team who came and removed the panels in december,
since then i have been trying to contact someone to get the system up and running and the roof fixed which has now caved in,
multiple calls go unanswered, messages not responded to and false promises of someone will call back but no calls ever recieved
really disappointing experience

We had used SAE a decade ago for our original solar panel installation and chose to use them again for a battery wall based on our positive dealings with them. The sales person was so easy to deal with and did a superb job of helping us understand everything on offer. They accommodated our later start date to fit in with renovations already underway. The installation itself was seamless and we opted to update all of our solar panels as well. We are so happy with the results as we are producing more power than we ever anticipated. Thank you SAE. We highly recommend your company.
We upgraded our 8-year-old system (which was still working perfectly) to 19.11kW SunPower panels, a 10kW Sungrow hybrid inverter, and a 25kWh battery. The whole process was amazing—informative, smooth, and professional. The installation team, lead by Ryan were punctual, tidy, respectful and explained everything clearly. The new system is fantastic! Monitoring has made us smarter with our energy use. Couldn’t be happier! Highly recommend SAE Group.
I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I feel I need to share my experience with SAE Solar to hopefully help others make an informed choice.
We had solar panels installed by SAE. Not long after, we noticed a roof leak directly under where the panels were installed. What started as a small issue quickly turned into significant internal damage to our ceiling due to the significant amount of rain we have had over the last few months.
I contacted them straight away, but it took over a month—and several follow-up emails—before anyone even got back to me. I only received a proper response after escalating things and mentioning I’d be lodging formal complaints. That really shouldn’t be necessary just to get someone to take responsibility.
A technician finally came out in early May, but since then I’ve been stuck chasing answers. I’ve followed up multiple times, even assisting to arrange a local builder to do the repair work, but weeks later I’m still waiting for a decision or timeline.
The installation itself might have been fine, but the customer service and aftercare have been extremely disappointing. If something goes wrong, you want a company that takes ownership and communicates properly. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been my experience with SAE Solar.
