Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) What are PVC banners used for? PVC banners are a versatile signage solution used for events, promotions, shopfronts, building signage, and outdoor advertising. Their durability and print quality make them suitable for both short-term campaigns and long-term displays. What’s the difference between 440gsm and 500gsm PVC? The main difference is thickness and durability. 440gsm Standard PVC is ideal for general use and temporary signage, while 500gsm Premium PVC is heavier, stronger, and better suited to long-term or high-exposure environments. Why should I consider Premium PVC? Premium 500gsm PVC is a great choice if you need a banner that will last longer, look better, and perform in tougher conditions. It offers improved resistance to creasing, tearing, and weather, making it ideal for shopfronts, outdoor installations, and high-traffic areas where a more robust, professional finish is important. Are PVC banners suitable for outdoor use? Yes, PVC banners are designed to withstand outdoor conditions. They are weather-resistant, durable, and printed with UV-resistant inks, helping your design stay vibrant even with prolonged exposure What finishing options are available? Our PVC banners can be supplied as trimmed only, hemmed for added strength, or hemmed with eyelets for easy and secure installation on fences, walls, or frames. Are PVC banners environmentally friendly? At Sailflags, we prioritise sustainable materials wherever possible. While PVC is not our primary material choice, we offer it because of its exceptional durability and longevity. In many cases, a longer-lasting PVC banner can reduce the need for frequent replacements, helping to minimise overall material waste compared to less durable alternatives. How do I care for my PVC banner? PVC banners are low maintenance and can be cleaned with a damp cloth. For best results, allow the banner to dry fully before storing and avoid folding for long periods to prevent creasing.
