The Animation Bootcamp is a great experience, very intense but gold informations. The videos "this week in bootcamp" even though were not the sexiest at first sight are maybe where I've learnt the most. The classes are great, and the square community very involved. My only comment would be about the feedback from the TA, somehow I imagined it would be more constructive and pushing towards improving. Here I was feeling comforted but not always pushed to do more, and it was what I was expected when I first subscribed to this course.

As someone who has made a living building online learning solutions, I am giving School of Motion 5 Stars for their high engagement model that still allows for a self-paced flexible work schedule. Their model caters to a variety of learning styles and helps keep engagement throughout the course. I love how one day I am sitting a lecture (with humor), one day I am listening to a podcast while doing laundry and checking out videos of sample work on Youtube, and then another day working on an exercise. In a world of back-to-back zoom calls or repetitive work projects, this variety of modalities was refreshing. I also liked the online forum engagement with students in other classes as well as the 1:1 feedback from TAs. The Wednesday sessions that highlight student work that week were also fun and motivational. I really appreciated the casual cultural experience (humor in lectures + real talk podcasts) while maintaining a core structure. The amount of work that has gone into providing learning aids, best practices, and career guidance is just fantastic. Great job School of Motion! Excited to sign up for my next course!

It is the most advanced level I have seen, not only for the techniques and tools you learn but for all the content that increases your organizational capacity to deal with complex projects full of details.

Course was so much more than I could have imagined...definitely awesome! Only regret is not taking it sooner!

overall I thought the course was good. I do think it would be helpful if the videos were a bit more bite sized. like an hour+ video could be 2 videos. to sort of suggest, follow along up to here. Maybe a quick review/ recap then move on review recap then the assignment.

it's so much info that once your doing the assignment most of it is lost.

also, as a side note, I think you should task someone with making fun animations of that describe the tools. sort of in the principals of the memory palace.

like crazy imagery to show what a mask is, vs a clipping mask, etc. I'd try and go for it but I can't animate. I have like 5 more courses to tackle.

Everything about this class is so valuable, material you won't find anywhere else! The teaching assistant's are wonderful and I love their input. Nol is hilarious and his teaching style is very effective. I can't wait to take more SOM classes!

I took Photoshop and Illustrator Unleased and it was super useful, I would definitely recommend it! The lessons were engaging and taught in different formats which helped make virtual learning more interesting. I feel more comfortable with each program in only a few weeks.

This class really forced me to focus and hone in on my design skills, my only wish was that I had more time to dedicate to each project. I unfortunately got very booked and had less and less time to spend on each assignment, which i suppose isnt a bad thing. I actually found myself using things i was taught THAT DAY on freelance projects i was on!
cannot recommend this course more.

My first experience taking a School of Motion class was awesome! I'll definitely be taking another one in the future. It was a very challenging, fast-paced course, but they really crammed in so much content and I learned a ton. I really enjoyed learning this way. They put a lot of work into making the content fun and valuable.

An informative course with great instructors and TAs!! It was challenging but also a lot of fun!

I really enjoyed the After Effects class. It took me a few days to get used to the the flow of the class and how things work but once I was comfortable, I really had a good time. The video lessons were interesting and very detailed. There was only one project that frustrated me and it is only because it was so tedious. But everything else was great. I started this course with very limited knowledge in AE. I only used templates for work and didn't really understand how things worked. After taking this class I was able to take a logo from my job and animated it on my own! I would recommend this class to anyone wanting a solid foundation in AE

Amazing program! Hard to find time at the end. The lessons were amazing and well paced until that final assignment. It was a bit too much for me in one lesson to pick up and create the final piece in the timeline, while balancing a full time job that includes a lot of OT and a family life. Would have been nice if the final was paced similarly to the other assignments.

Otherwise, amazing platform to learn and the feedback/lessons reviewing was great and super helpful!!!

3D Ascent is an impressive course with in-depth lessons and creative exercises covering a vast array of tools and techniques. All that plus some thoughtful critique and motivating feedback.

I highly doubt any aspiring 3D artist would be disappointed.

Explainer Camp gave me the tools and confidence to engage in professional practice.

This is the first time I have attended a class in this format and wondered how effective it would be. It was very effective and therefore I would definitely be interested in attending other courses in the future. The instructor (Nol) was very knowledgeable and provided a wealth of information.

Fantastic course - really glad I did this. Lots of support from the allocated online tutor and clear teaching methods made the complexity of after effects a lot clearer and more understandable

Animation Bootcamp was a tough ride. But fun. Expect a lot of input and a satisfying feeling of reaching goals. After the first lessons you already change your pov about animation and how you handle your projects. I highly recommend ABC, the principles you learn are worth it. Btw: If you have a full-time-job like I do, be prepared to cancel all private stuff during bootcamp. ;)

SOM doesn't just give you amazing content that is thoughtfully delivered by an experienced teacher who knows how to structure information in a way that has the highest chances of being properly digested- they also take care to inspire students by sharing mograph history and insight into today's industry, that helps immensely in keeping motivation up during the challenging course. Highly recommend. (My experience is with AEK kickstart taught by Nol Honig)

I have taken the Design Kickstart course with SOM and really enjoyed each and every lecture. Mike Frederick is one of the greatest mentors and watching him finish storyboards in every lecture was so helpful. Apart from the lectures, every podcast provided great insight into the industry. This was my first proper training in motion design and I have learned a lot about the concept that would have taken me a lot of time otherwise.
