Earned nearly $7K in commissions this last month with pure inbound appointment setting. It works, but you may need to go through a few different companies till you find the right position. Some want outbound, inbound, mix... but I'm glad I found an inbound only that pays well. Overall it's worth it, I made a return, but it does take a fair amount of work and persistence.
