It could have arrived sooner
It could have arrived sooner, and the box that it came with was notoriously low quality. The pieces could have been heavier. I expected much more for the price.

Superb craftsmanship.
Quality chess sets that are made by real craftsmen, who clearly lavish care and attention on every detail.
The website is pretty good, too.

We really appreciate you taking the time to share this with us! We’re especially happy that the craftsmanship stood out to you. A great chess set is about much more than appearance. The balance, proportions, finish, and small details all contribute to the experience of playing with it. We’re also glad you enjoyed your experience with the World Chess Shop, and we hope your set becomes part of many great games ahead.
Just the best
Very friendly and fast support. Thank you very much for the coffee mug. I love it. The quality of the board is also amazing. Would recommend

I purchased the Reykjavik Series…
I purchased the Reykjavik Series Plastic Chess Pieces in red and white. The shipping was slow in terms of modern standards as it took over a week for the chess pieces to arrive. The response and replacement of the blemished red King was excellent. The set itself is a bit too "seamy" (visible seams) and the "felt" bottoms are a joke. I regret not spending more money on a better set of chess pieces.

Thank you for your honest feedback. We’re sorry the delivery took longer than expected and that the visible seams and felt bottoms left you disappointed with the set. While we’re glad we resolved the blemished red king promptly, we understand that the overall quality fell short of your expectations.
Perfect
Absolutely delighted with this chess set. It is beautifully crafted, elegant, and of excellent quality. It looks even better in person, and I am extremely pleased with my purchase. Highly recommended

Very low quality of the chess board ordered
Low quality of the chess board ordered (scratches, precision of the work, finish, etc), also didn't match the description on the online page (was definitely not made of massive ebony wood for the outer frame, but wood painted black).
However, very satisfied of the customer service and support. Reactive, and focused on finding a solution. Answering within a few hours.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry the board did not meet your expectations in terms of finish and overall quality.
We would also like to clarify that the Official World Chess Black Premium Set is made from solid ebony wood, including the outer frame, and is not simply painted black.
We’re glad our customer service team was able to respond quickly and help find a solution for you. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to assist.

Pricey and Defected product
I received the chess set and unboxed it and unfortunately it had a couple of defects.
1x pawn is missing the green pad at the bottom
The board has some marks/ stain
The customer service offered a partial refund, which is great. However, it was still disappointing as it’s advertised as a rather premium chess set, and its price point certainly reflects that. Despite the positioning/ branding on their website, this is exactly the same manufacturer as a few other online resellers that go for about 30% lower price

Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear that your set arrived with these issues. We understand how disappointing this must have been, especially when purchasing a premium chess set.
We’re glad our customer service team was able to assist and offer a partial refund. Our fulfillment team has also advised that they have sent you a replacement pawn for the pawn that had an issue.
We appreciate that this does not change the disappointment of receiving a product that was not in perfect condition. We take the quality of our products and our customers’ experience very seriously, and your feedback has been noted and shared with our team.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.
