Riedel Gin glasses. I’ll start by sharing our stemless wine glasses are fabulous. We’ve had them for years and love them.
The gin glasses are disappointing - I received two as a gift and both had shattered putting ice into the glass. Literally a chuck of glass popped out of the side. I’d add photos if I could.

my order was delivered in time, everything was packed in a very safe way.
And the glasses are perfect, as always!

So I have twice ordered items from Riedel, very expensive wine decanters, both were gifts and both arrived like the package had gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson.

I gave them one last go and ordered a £550 decanter this weekend. Delivery by DPD (why?!?!). DPD could not deliver as I was not home. The reason I was not home is because you were knocking on No. 5 and my address is No 4. I mean the clue is in the whacking great number 5 on the front door. Now waiting for a refund. Been told there is no claims department. Will see what is offered as an apology.

I would take the large amount of money you would spend on Riedel and buy elsewhere. There are other glassware brands.

I discovered a manufacturing fault in one of the glasses I purchased months ago. the glass is unstable as the foot is not horizontal. Riedel acknowledged my complaint but refuses to replace the glass as I purchased it in March and should have checked the product. Although Riedel reimbursed me for the cost of the one glass, I am unable to replace it myself for that amount as these are only sold as a set. I find their attitude arrogant, to say the least.

German made is not what it used to be. My first order of Riedel Extreme series was perfectly fine, so I started collecting this series (Shiraz, Riesling and Rose). However, half the glasses in my last order were flawed (rough edges and air bubbles) where stem meets the bowl), so I complained. I've never seen these defects in other glasses. Not even Ikea. Riedel was kind to send me replacement glasses. Unfortunately, those were even worse, all were flawed. Obviously, there is a systematic problem, and not just a few glasses escaping the quality control. So, I complained again. Riedel claims to have inspected each glass, which all meet their tolerance standards, and that the "slight" differences may be due to new factory use. The differences from previous to current (and future) glasses are not slight. The whole point of having nice wine glasses is the esthetic. So, I'm returning them. Such a pitty.

After much trouble with Poste Haste, Lucia from Riedel chased them up and I received the goods, one of which was broken. After photographing the damage and emailing same to Lucia, she again went above and beyond in sending me a replacement, which thanks to Lucia arrived safely and on time. When things go wrong, it's how a company deals with the problem that makes all the difference and often that can be down to just one staff member.

Riedel need to be congratulated for their eco packaging. Just bought 8 glasses packed in cardboard, fully protected and fully recyclable.

If only every manufacturer did this.
