Pathetic company… spending 1000’s a month recently and never complained about nothing… had loads of invoices won all at once and received collection notification within days apart having to do multiple trips instead all together , hours away travels not been issue but issue was when some items are from unit 17 where is the attitude you get from staff , ignorance and disrespect, … last time I have asked that is been a week since and not received any collection notification and I am going away and been told that is processing now and I shall have notification any minute and then following week when I was on holiday had the text finally that’s is due to collect , so I drove with family on way home and collected , but out of all bulks I had to collect 2 where missing and the long hair skinny fella that had ignored again for half an hour everyone ,despite more than 10 people in queue finally took my invoice and brought this 3 boxes and said that’s all and than shouted next … I have loaded than and left , but 2 lots I haven’t had both with 18 items and when reached Simon Charles by phone , they said everything is been scanned … well probably because was loads of stuff the guy scanned everything on spot and than brought to me only 3 boxes so my advice take a video when you go as unit 17 does you dirty … this is THEFT … I am off this website and I can see why everyone reviewing so bad this company , I am surprised is still going … ps I can supply video from dash cam as I have brought to the car only 3 boxes instead of 5

Disappointing experience with Simon Charles. My winning bids totalled just £17, but the final invoice was £40.69 after fees and VAT. I felt the additional charges were excessive and not sufficiently clear before bidding. I would advise others to check all fees carefully before placing a bid.

Absolute joke of a company and although some items can be good value their way of dealing with customers and their business practises are a disgrace.

I bought some items and on collection it was noticed dresses I bought were different to the image colour and the wording in the description did not clearly state the colour, 2 sandals were neither as described in writing or in the pictures so I rejected the items and they said they would look into the matter. After almost a week, they say they will refund me for the sandals but not the dresses as the image is representative only and that in their opinion there is nothing wrong with their written description, I disagreed and I could come and collect the dresses or they could post for £7.99 + VAT, I said its their mistake and I am not going to drive just over an hour to collect 4 dresses and seeing as I've spent near on £1000 in 3 weeks with them they should consider posting them as a goodwill gesture, they refused and said either collect, pay for postage or if you want a refund we will look at blocking your account as your bidding history is not in keeping with the spirit of the auction whatever that means and when i asked them to clearly state what they mean by that they refuse to and within 10mins of asking for my refund they have now blocked my account.

Like I said, some items may be good but if you have issues good luck.

Absolutely disgraceful customer service.

I have been buying from Simon Charles Auction since 2016 and have spent thousands of pounds with this company over the years. After today’s experience, I have made the decision that I will never buy from them again.

I had two collections. I collected one order, then returned to collect a second order which was only a single item. I drive around 30 minutes to another unit and politely asked if they could bring the item out. The staff member refused and simply told me to wait for the text message.

I called the office and explained that I had been working all night and had taken time out of my day just to collect an item I had already paid for. The lady on the phone couldn’t have cared less. Instead of trying to help a loyal customer, she just kept repeating, “Wait for the text.”

The shocking part came when I said I no longer wanted the item because of the way I was being treated. I was told that if I didn’t collect it, I would lose my money and they would keep the item as well. Imagine paying for something and then being told they will keep both your money and your purchase.

After nearly 10 years of loyalty and spending thousands of pounds, this is the level of respect I received. It seems customer service means absolutely nothing to this company.

There are plenty of auction houses that actually value their customers. Simon Charles Auction clearly isn’t one of them. This was my final purchase, and I would strongly encourage anyone thinking of buying from them to consider whether they want to deal with a company that treats long-term customers this way.

Now I'm aware of Simon Charles scammers/robbers reputation, but one has to understand the business they are in. They couldn't possibly check everything that comes through to the enth degree,without costs becoming untenable. I had a hosepipe, which had a cracked connector and bought new connector for a couple of pounds; a Seesll elecric car jack, which was probably used once and a Powerhand oil transfer pump, which was brand new - both worked fine. I emailed them a few times and got back to me very quickly and answered my questions. The warehouse lads were quick, efficient and courteous - so on the whole a great experience. Just acknowledge the business they are in - sometimes you'll lose, but most of the time you'll win.

Bought a lawn mower as a gamble, was taped up in a box, when opened it had been used (a lot) including a box full of dirt and grass, looked at the make which was completely different to what was advertised AND in a different box and it’s an Lidl lawnmower!!!! Absolute SCAMMERS

I have been reading a lot of reviews from people who are saying they have been ripped off.The first thing is this you are buying of an auction not a retailer and you need to check how you are bidding and how much you are willing to pay they have the cost with fees on before you bid which a few years ago they hadn't. They also let you go and view the lots they don't bid on the lots I have been a customer for 6 years and have had many bargains .I have won lots at £1.00 and sold on for £150.i do agree with the admin fee being way to high .I do rember them saying they would look at lowering it .as the saying goes buyer beware .

This Auctioneer will resell your item to someone else after you have won and paid for it within 24 hours outside of your collection slot and they will refuse to give you your money back. This business has been robbing British people of their hard earned money under the guise of " You are late for collection

Inconsiderate, time wasters

Got invited for a job interview, I confirmed my attendance over email, they never got back to me confirming my appointment, even though I messaged them within the time frame they stated. On the morning of the interview I went to call them with the number they gave on Indeed, turns out it was a fake number! "Next Steps Kindly confirm your attendance by replying to this email or calling us at 0161 123 4567" I got their number on google and the person on the front desk rudely told me that they've only just come back to work and to just come in if i've been told to come in, which I explained this hasn't been confirmed, she put me on hold for five minutes and said yeah I've spoken to the manager just come in. This should not have taken an applicant to have to chase up with them twice, and for a company to provide a fake number to contact them on is extremely unprofessional, stay well clear. Extremely disorganised and inconsiderate!

First I want to say a big thank you to Martin at SK9 3RW he is such a very good worker deals with customer professional always getting you goods on time very hard working if he ever leave i don't no what alot of us will do without him he's the best he treat us like a dad looking out for his children please take care of him

Steer away from these lot.
Purchased items that have option to collect or post and they won’t accept collection because postal makes them more money even if you are a stones throw away. And the costs or what they call ‘lot processing’ is way more expensive than the costs of the item you are buying. Thieving bustards and it’s all in small print. Won’t be dealing with them again.

Awfull manager shouting and trying blame you ‼️‼️‼️
Use to bought sofas from this auction, one day we went collect 2 sofas with lots of scatterback cushions (9 in totall) guy brought the sofas with 1 extra cushion which we didnt even noticed, next day we had not nice call from side manager shouting on me that if we wont return that extra cushion he will blocked me from the auction (living 80miles from the auction side that is first and sold the sofa straight away next morning that the second, wasnt even possible bring back that 20cm x20cm cushion) really shocked about this situation and his bad manner which ends with blocking me from Simon Charles‼️‼️‼️

Faulty goods and misleading descriptions!

Bought some earplugs….paid a lot of money for something that did not work. If the item in auction states “cannot guarantee it’s damaged or broken” do not bid or buy. Again….do not buy…you are wasting your money. The company has no customer service trying to get through is a nightmare….

iT IS RIDICULOUS POSTAL CHARGES SHOWN ON THE LOT 7.99£ AND WON THE BIDDING cHARGED 12£ CALLED /NO ANSWER/ MASSGAED AND DID NOT GET ANYWHERE PAYING £3 ITEM £20 RIDICULOUS

I recently purchased a pallet of 15 monitors and TVs from Simon Charles, and every single screen was cracked. I understand they state on their website that items may be damaged, but this level of damage is unacceptable. If you’re reselling products, there should at least be some quality control or basic testing to protect buyers. It’s frustrating and feels like a complete waste of money. Be cautious before purchasing from here—you’re essentially gambling on receiving usable products.

I purchased a cosmetics bundle then received tracking from them with a royal mail code that doesn’t exist- its a made up number and when i have complained i get exactly the same to the letter automated “personal “ response saying they have just checked it for me and its a fault with royal mail. No products received…basically its just a scam. £30 wasted … dont be sucked in nothing is free these days!

purchased 2 rolls of carpet which are ok . but the rugs i purchased are not the rugs in the pictures and the way they ave been stored are not fit for use . it will take years for the creases to come out . booked a collection slot and was still standing in line for 1 hour . the only nice thing was the tall guy serving customers he was so fast compared to the other workers. . not use again
