I can't be happier with my decision to repolish and reglaze my old frame. George has patiently answered all of my questions in a back-and-forth email exchange, and even helped me pick the best lens option for my needs amongst the wide variety they offer on their website. I'll admit that I had looked around to compare different polish&reglaze services, but Simplespex stood out: the customer service is top notch, the lens offer includes internationally trusted brands that other retailers don't have, and the prices are extremely competitive. Ordering and sending the frame is very easy. Between placing my order and receiving the frame back it only took one week! Like I said, I can't be happier with my old-new glasses: highly recommended!

As a first time Zeiss ClearMind varifocal buyer I’d done a fair amount of research for several weeks before getting in touch with SimpleSpex. I had a pretty good idea what I wanted but still had a lot of technical questions. George (the owner) was on point and very responsive and helpful over many days of emailing with questions and clarifications. I had detailed questions about photographing myself with my frames which George answered clearly, confirming that my photos were accurate when he received them. When I ordered, I opted for the thinnest lenses at 1.74 looking for the lightest and thinnest option and accepting that this would add a premium to the price. Having done some detailed comparison calculations for me George recommended that I would be best with 1.6 as with my prescription the difference in thickness and weight would be truly imperceptible - as bourne out by the calcs. My ClearMind Individual 3 with DuraVision Gold and PhotoFusion X arrived a few days later and were pristine and perfect. I have pairs of sunglasses that also need re-lensing so I’ll soon be sending those to SimpleSpex to be done. Thank you George for the excellent personal service. Looking forward to the next time!

Top notch service! Only online company I found that offers Cocoa Mint frames so decided to give it a go having read the reviews. Was apprehensive as have never used an online glasses service and need varifocals. Ordering the new glasses was a breeze. The price couldn’t have been more affordable and very quick turnaround. 10 days exactly. George kept me updated and didn’t mind me checking in. Just received them and I am so happy! They are perfect. Cannot recommend them enough.

I have just received my latest pairs of Zeiss varifocals back from Simplespex. I have been a customer for many years now and am on my 9th pair. George is just the best. Always prepared to answer my questions and offers the best advice, often advising against the more expensive options ava;able and recommending what is more suited to my prescription. Recently he has put lnses in 3 pairs of JMM frames for me and I would not entrust sucj expensive frames to anyone else. 5 stars from start to finish. As always thanks George for another two pairs of perfect glasses.

5 star service all the way from these guys. When my 5 months old Lacoste 'designer' frames developed a spring-hinge problem (design fault, not damaged), Lacoste refused to help saying I had to speak to my optician. I explained he had retired but they were completely unhelpful. Found Simplespex who did a perfect repair job in 24 hours for just £24 + postage. Communication, speed, quality of repair and price all spot on! Worn every day for over 2 weeks now and the repair is definitely good. Will definitely be using them in future for new glasses, repairs / reframing.

Exceptionally good businesses are becoming very much a rarity these days but fortunately for me during the Covid pandemic I found Simplespex, a very high quality company owned and managed by an exceptionally talented individual, George Devenish.

Over the last six years I have used Simplespex to repair several pairs of my Silhouette spectacles. On each occasion George has sourced original parts from Silhouette based in Linz, Austria. Each repair has been completed to a very high standard and returned to me in Liverpool within a commendable time frame.

Recently I have used Simplespex for lens replacements with George and his team providing extremely high quality lens at very competitive prices.

The excellent service from Simplespex , in my opinion contrasts sharply with High Street opticians which I have previously used and who are very reluctant to provide repair services but instead focus on high volume new spectacle sales at exorbitant prices despite trying to conceal this practice under the guise of two for one offers and other amateurish methods.

George at Simplespex did a fantastic job with my glasses. Even though there were some external delays and technical challenges with the lenses, his communication and engagement were incredible. He is a very kind person and a real expert in his field. I am very happy with the final result and will definitely return!

Over the several years I have had 5 pairs of Zeiss avrifocals lenses made by George at Simplespex. Each time the communication to ensure the measurements are perfect have been spot on. The quality of the work is also perfect. Each pair has been tailored to my eye positioning perfectly also and I have had no issues whatsever.

I highly recommend Simplespex over any other place and let me tell you why...

I had 2 frames I wanted to get reglazed. I stumbled across Simplespex, saw that it was a small sized business but it had really good reviews. I took the chance and placed an order for one of the frames. Sent it off on Saturday last week, arrived on Monday and it was back in my hands fully reglazed on Wednesday. Now that's what I call service! It was acetate frames, and I know the process involves heat and could leave some marks from the heat, but I fully inspected it and it was absolute flawless. Not a single mark. These guys clearly know what they're doing.

The quality and craftsmanship was so good, I immediately placed an order again for the second pair that I wanted reglazing. This time it was Titanium frames which I know doesn't involve heat, but after seeing the quality of the work from the first one, I knew I was in safe hands. It was a very similar experience. Sent it off on the Thursday, arrived by Friday and it was back in my hands on the following Tuesday. I can say the quality is very consistent, and the speed is extremely quick. A much bigger business gives you a standard turnaround time of at least a week and you have to pay extra for the same level of turnaround time that you get with Simplespex by default. Of course YMMV depending on your prescription, but still, very good work.

What impressed me the most was that since I opted for Transitions lenses, they put my demo lenses in the packet that the Transitions lenses come in. Probably a way to reassure its customers that the Transition lenses are the real deal. And on top of that, they appear to give you a little receipt of what I would assume is the results of the lensometer that they use to verify your prescription after cutting and edging the lens, which I think was an added nice touch as it shows transparency and gives you assurance that the lenses have been made to your prescription. You don't get this level of service elsewhere.

So, are you on the fence about whether or not you should use Simplespex? Honestly, go for it. They're a small business which means they will put more effort into getting your order done perfectly the first time rather than getting through as many orders as they can in a day, and it clearly shows.

I already have plans to use them again in the future for my fiance's frames. Simplespex, if you're reading this, you've got yourself a customer for life.

Had a pair of Timberland variofocals with broken arms, local opticians couldn't repair them. Simplespex have done an amazing job fitting new arms that match the frame. Returned promptly, next pair will be with them soon. Highly recommend.

I had a sunken hinge replaced on a designer pair of sunglasses. Posted on a Monday and returned on Saturday. The service is fantastic and process to post so very easy.

I now have a new pair of glasses again after sending them off with multiple scratches and BOTH arms being bent.

An overall excellent experience with this company. From an initial enquiry to a great job on my glasses. I initially believed my glasses to be Titanium (did the magnetic test) therefore chose Titanium single weld on the easy to use website. Paid and sent my glasses off. Was pleasantly surprised to get an email in two days to say my glasses were on their way back to me and that they had refunded me £10. When I queried the reason for the refund I was told that my glasses were not actually Titanium and therefore the repair fee was £10 less. Not many companies would have this level of integrity and honesty. Sent off on Monday and returned on Thursday. Great job. Cannot fault the service. Would definitely use again. Thank you
