We have been working with Smarter now for nearly 2 years, we were quite unhappy with our previous digital company and Smarter were a breath of fresh air. My worries of not understanding SEO and PPC are reassured as Smarter explain all the reporting and make sure we keep on track of our goals. The communicating tool Basecamp keeps both teams in the loop of the progress. We have increased our spend and seeing more results! Super nice people to work with also!

Karl Paul Smarter Media’s CEO stated to us, “You are correct that the article lengths are short. However, our strategy when competing with big brands on a low budget is to populate the site with short relevant articles, then over time add to them. This has multiple benefits, including “content update date”, adding fresh content to pages is loved by Google, as well as “depth of content”, building on the content further over time adds further weight. This will give you considerably more benefit to each piece of content than simply writing a long article, adding it and forgetting about it.”
Smarter wrote a number of ‘short articles’ (less than 350 words) and one of these was not even picked up by google as it was ‘too short’, so zero benefit. We brought in an independent consultant to give us a fair and impartial overview on SM’s work and they commented, “Articles written by SM appear to lack fundamental understanding of on page SEO best practice; including article length, keyword and search term placement, frequency and structure.”

These guys know how to use all the lingo, although when it comes to outcomes and results, the work we’ve paid them for has actually harmed our business rather than improved it. This is why I've given them one star. I believe they have harmed our business. Or maybe we were just too low budget for them to properly care. Whatever the reason, this hasn’t been great and we wouldn’t recommend them and would suggest you engage with caution.

Before Smarter Media started working with Dreambox, we were predominantly a social media business. We had reached the top page of Google for very direct searches thanks to the amount of traffic we were sending to our site via social media. Our analytics showed social media referrals accounted for 57.5 per cent of our traffic. As most business owners, we knew SEO was important, but didn't really understand why or how it works and so we decided to let Smarter Media take the reigns and begin working on our site in February 2019. We were advised it would take 3 months to start noticing changes, and it was a concerning time as we did find ourselves questioning whether it would make a difference. Fast forward to June's analytics and google is now our website's biggest source of traffic - from 31.1% up to 48.9%, purely down to the work the amazing team have put in! We have climbed the Google place ladder for several search terms and have a load more key words added relevant to our industry.
