I've been using the app for 3 years. All I can say is, absolutely the worst app I've ever paid for. It used to be fun, it used to work, it is now the very bane of my existence. I've reached out to them and everything they've asked me to try is utterly worthless. I cannot do anything on the updated version and have resorted to using an older version before the rotten updates. Now my oc's and joins are not being loaded. I'm over it. To expensive to be so crappy!😝

I have been using this app for YEARS. It used to be the ONLY good app for this sort of thing, and I honestly really loved it up until the recent 2020 updates. Now the app waits way too long to start in Talk Mode (The only mode I actually use). Used to, AutoRap would start the speech, made into Rap via Talk Mode, only 2-5 seconds after the beat started. Now it takes forever to actually get the words into the beat. Like, it used to be 90% words, 10% beat, but now it's more like 30% words, 70% beat, and I HATE it. It barely even keeps anything you sang/spoke and replaces it with a bunch of the plain old beat with no words. It's seriously AWFUL. And now you don't have to be VIP to title your stuff but it won't let me use 90% of the titles I try to use. Which makes no sense because they didn't use any bad or derogatory words and weren't long titles either. And the loading time is absolutely atrocious. This app has only gotten worse as time has progressed. I loved the original app when I first started using it in 2014/2015 (can't remember when I opened it). But now it's not the same and the quality is bad. Especially the amount of time you actually hear you and not the stupid beat. Overall I am very disappointed and the prices have gone up which is absurd because the app quality has gone DOWN. Don;t get VIP, and honestly, find another app to use, because this one just keeps getting worse and not better.

I find that Smule is really bad now, it's so glitchy, my videos are never in sync with my voice on solos or duets. It's hard to change the settings for video effects as it just stops. I loved Smule before but sometimes apps should be left alone and not made too complicated! I hardly use it now as it frustrates me every time I do. I thought these issues would have been resolved by now. I'll wait a bit longer before cancelling my subscription and if it is resolved soon I'll change my rating and review...Come on Smule sort it out please!!

Took a payment for a trial in 2019. SCAM

Smule has had significant network errors for 2 years on 3 different Apple devices. I have ultra fast broadband and all other apps work! Thought it was the Smule Server and have communicated that I could not use the app for up to 5 hours a day....but nothing from smule apart from a 'sorry about the inconvenience' Then I borrowed a friends android phone - works fine! Had a 3 hour call with Apple to try to work this out - all 3 of my apple devices are fine ! It's the ios development by Smule that is the issue. TWO YEARS of feedback to Smule...no action. Yesterday I made the decision to just use the Samsung for Smule and use my iphone as my regular phone. THEN - imagine my disgust when I found the Samsung s20 won't record vocals. It's ANOTHER known issue that is all over the feedback boards. I just wish Smule would concentrate their development on getting the basics right instead of wasting all their resources on the sparkly functionality that few use. It's like they have developed this big shiny world but forgotten the oxygen ! When it works Smule is an app that brings real joy to its users - alas, it is inconsistent to the point of being simply unusable.

You have sold out Smule. I am a full time student/ full worker! And now you can’t hear the songs you have sung. What a joke, how does it real to sell out like every other app out there!!

I just use the app for practice, it's good for that and that only. Personally I've been on the app for over 4 years and I've come to realize it's all just a fake app.

Verified singers are only verified due to their following which was gained by being in various "support rooms" where no one actually hears you sing.

If you're really into music and feel it's your all don't get involved with this fake app. It's all about pretty faces on camera.

If ya don't do videos people barely pay attention. It's supposed to be karaoke but it's just another social site instead. I suggest just singing for yourself.

The tech behind the app made an update now that just skims through your songs making it easier for more fake loves and gifts lol it's pathetic.

The users upload most of the music so you're paying for BS. I'm pretty much reaching that throw this app away status and I have a following of 4,910.

I'd trade all of them followers for actual singers to join me. Too many people focus on just the numbers. Oh and don't get me started on the Smule thugs out there always doing disstrack "raps" if you can call their BS rap.

Be careful getting to know anyone on there or you'll bump into some idiot who wants to feel important and you can end up laughing at people trying to disstrack you.

You're better off just going to a karaoke Bar after Coronavirus is up. This app is a waste of money and it's expensive too. The people who run the app are all part of a special clique of friends so they'll verify wives or gfs of verified singers solely for being with them.

Lol so fake, Oh and comps don't bother all you'll get from comps is some idiot telling you, you can't sing even if you have been successful at it in life.

Don't get caught up in the BS just sing and get off the app, it's best to stick to doing Solos for your practice. People won't join you unless you're as phony as a Hooters waitress saying, "hey cutie" for that tip.

Forget smule and it's pathetic crew that runs it. Comps are solely to get you to download this app called LINE so a dick can land in your inbox.

The judges will say they're real, I had a judge when I was new to the app claiming to be from Five Finger Death Punch, Cause a member of that bands gonna have time to be up on smule rating people who aren't even professional singers lmfao.

They remove songs that you open due to copyright Infrindgements and still leave those songs in their libraries, I've seen my stuff get deleted and seen others not. So use this app as a free user trust me.

Loved this app so much, now I can't playback complete songs from myself or friends, just clips.....seriously disappointed and cancelling...what a shame

UPDATE: Smule customer service replied to inquiry and sent a video explaining how to fix my issue....Thanks Smule..We are good to go again

I am using smule from last 5 years,,, I was satisfied but after few days ago I saw that most of my songs are locked why this is and how is this a really worst singing app or what, I would like to request to smule admin to solve my problem or I can choose another option I mean another singing app

It is bad support! Those new settings and filters are messing up all the time. No help to be found. They don't look into the problem that I have. They just give a standard reply when I write to them. What the fup? I have been singing and joining over 13.8K songs and they think that I am the problem. Or say that I should try to reinstall the app, wich I have done several times...nothing changes anything! SMULE IS CRAP I can't give less than one star sadly, I don't even think that the app is worth one star. I have always loved to sing on this app, but no more. They should give me all of my money back. Delete my account and give me another one for free, for all the trouble I have had! So sad I have a lot of friends and a lot of songs that I love so much among my favourites. But now these days I can't use it, because of those damn filters....a lot of my friends have the same issues as I. But nothing is going to happen, because you won't get any help! What so ever! I am so sad and angry right now!

I have just cancelled VIP, since they removed the opportunity to sing without any effects. I don’t want to loose my musical hearing due to all the effects that distort my voice. How hard could it be to let me save “None” as my default sound effect? I don’t want to go through 5 different menus to enable it for each song I sing.

I have been Smule member for over a year and use almost every day and love it, for the past few days I am having problem with the App, every time when I try to open the App it does not open till I restart my phone, this problem is experienced by so many other people I know who use Smule all the time. Can some one look into this and fix this issue.

I have sang 13thousand song's on smule and it's proves how much I enjoy in smule...I have three groups where I share my songs and everybody there likes it...it's really amazing but I can't see my trending songs on my profile .. everybody else could see it but I don't know why I can't also I need an official I'd ..thank you

I have been a Smule VIP for four years now, and had been using it every day. For the past few months now i have hardly touched it. I gave it a go today but still find myself disappointed at the sounds from this plethora of effects. The older version was waaaayyy better than this!
I can’t blame you for trying to bring new options but they just are not working. Please bring back the previous selections we had. I feel you will lose a lot of Smulers, and smulers will lose out on something that brought us much enjoyment & happiness.
Please bring it back!
I will close my Smule account if nothing changes back to when it was an awesome app.💔

I've been a VIP member for more than 6 years, and now I dont want to be a VIP anymore. They ruined the app with useless updates, ruined the interface (the one from 2014 was perfect), and the worst updates ever with terrible crappy voice effects.
Smule, please listen to your members, bring the old smule back and remove all these crappy and useless updates OR YOU WILL LOSE YOUR VIP MEMBERS!

I have been a VIP Smuler for years. I have thousands of recordings and used the app daily. The new Smule is utter crap. I am no longer in full control of my vocal effects and instead have ridiculous options that sound ...well....awful, You’ve lost me Smule . What a disaster you have made of this once great platform

You're not listening to the people Smule. Every rubbish fx you bring out is messing my Android up. My only therapy has been eradicated. Why fix something that isn't broken? I will NOT be renewing my membership like loads of other users have told me also. You haven't listened to Android users, the people who are affected the most by your recent updates. I have uninstalled countless times, I have an anti-virus security app on my phone so you cant blame my phone. Before all the visual/sound updates came out a couple of months ago my experience on Smule was brilliant..the last 2 weeks (End Nov-Dec) have been frustrating af. The more fx you add the worse the recordings are. And I can't join anyone either! Wth have you done?... There are thousands appealing to Smule but to no avail. DON'T buy a membership..especially if you own an Android. Some have even got an i-phone to best suit this app & are still finding the same crappy results since the updates. Who exactly are you catering for Smule?? I know more people on Smule that are completely dissatisfied than are happy. Why try & fix something that isn't broke? I'm gonna try the other singing app because now I cannot even open a song without experiencing delays & sound distortion. I will also be looking into getting a partial refund because now I can't interact (sing) with anyone on there due to the fx. My m/ship expires in May 2021.

I am so disappointed with this app! They didn’t have to change something that was working perfectly!!
All effects are horrible and instead of improving your voice these stupid effects make it horrible!!!😭🥺😤😤😤😤 Too bad they ruined my best therapy!! I will not pay anymore until they switch back to what it used to be! In the meantime I will try some other singing Apps and if they are better Smule will lose a lot!! Understand this Smule: Every new effect sucks!, removing the cover was bad too! After we start playing the song we cannot see the cover picture we chose! Fix this!!

I too have used this app for several years with the limited number of effects available . There was one good effect superstudio with which you could obtain studio quality recordings . Now there are hundreds of poor quality effects which mostly make you sound like singing in a tunnel and seem unable to cope with change in volume when singing . Despite multiple complaints they have not listened to the users . I have cancelled my subscription .
