writing to you as my last resort regarding a PV project that Sunrun started more than a year ago at my property in 21223 Hobart Blvd, Torrance CA. The panels were installed at the newly built ADU. At the time the ADU hadn’t been assigned its own address but Sunrun told me that that had an easy fix once the new address get assigned, they would do the paperwork to update. The ADU’s address was assigned and the paperwork needs to be updated and LADWP is requesting that the request be resubmitted reflecting the new address. Amanda Gonzales who is assigned as the project manager, has been incapable of helping me and keeps on giving me the runaround, she won't take calls and is not responding to my emails, and a third party that has no idea always responds, indicating that Amanda will call me later but she never calls. I don’t know who her supervisor is, which is why I’m contacting you. I do NOT wish to continue with Amanda as the project manager and kindly request that you assign a new person that I can work with. Everything is in place for this project to work. Just need to request to the right address

Avoid this company!! Everything was fine until it wasn’t. I got a notice that my solar system needed service. I got on my Sunrun app and noticed that it had been down for 2 weeks. Notification said that Freedom Forever would call within 7 days to schedule repair. It’s been 3 weeks and haven’t heard from Freedom Forever and after hours on hold I have given up on reaching them. I’ve tried to contact my alleged case manager, Brianna Harrington, who claims she “will partner with you (me) and advocate on your (my) behalf within Sunrun”. I asked her if I would be compensated for the $10+ a day cost of lease and increase in APS charges while solar panels are not generating power. Crickets!
Also, when we first got our solar panels, we were told that we would never get another APS bill. Lie! When it worked it did save money but we DO get electric bills in the hot months here in the Arizona desert.
This is the review I posted a little over a month ago and no compensation was given. The post on Trustpilot has mysteriously been taken down. ?? Now the EXACT same thing has happened, except I have a new case manager, Alexander Field and panels have not been producing for who knows how long!!. I won’t spend hours getting nowhere this time!
Very dishonest company, abysmal communication and terrible customer service. You have choices, DON’T choose Sunrun!!

I did not sign this contract my dad did,he has passed and I have been having a hard time selling the house with the panels, not one potential buyer wants yo sign a 21 yr lease for these panels, I asked them to remove and void contract so I can get the house sold,they told me no find someone that will buy with panels just transfer lease.....NO ONE WILL DO THIS. I NEED THEM REMOVED I DID NOT SIGN THE CONTRACT

It was a smooth one day installation. I was assured by Sunrun that roof( new roof) will have no leak down the road at the site of installation.

My system was installed in January or 2022. In August of 2025 the system stopped generating energy. I called Sunrun for support, I was informed that my 10 year Sunrun and 25 year manufacturers warranty had somehow expired in 3 years. I was presented with a quote for $600 to have a Sunrun technician come onsite to inspect the system. Per the signed agreement I have with Sunrun I am unable to use a 3rd party tech, and have to use one of theirs.
I highly recommend you choose any other solar installer, because Sunrun does not stand behind their product or work.

Alex was very helpful. The sales rep, Charles Burns, was very misleading with his information. He also did a review as if I was the one posting the review. I never gave him the authority to post something for me. I was also told I would get free electric for one year and that hasn’t happened yet. My biggest complaint is, I asked Charles if I would have to pay ANYTHING on the Tesla battery and was told “No, never” but now I’m being charged $54.45 a month for the battery.

I know it’s not Sunruns fault, but the wait time for the city approval and SCE processes taking 8 months is not good for business.
Hopefully this is being addressed. But Sunrun did all they could to in getting the PTO approved. I don’t know if this was an unusual from other installations or it’s city by city situation. Thank you

I strongly caution anyone considering Sunrun.
My experience has been defined by misleading sales tactics, broken promises, and total lack of accountability. I was provided with specific figures by a sales representative — including via text messages — and was even issued a $2,000 check to match what was presented as my post-incentive cost. He had an associate on speaker phone walk me through those same figures to reinforce the pitch.
But when the loan terms were finally revealed, they were nothing like what was promised. When I contacted the loan company directly, their explanation aligned with what I saw in writing — not with what the Sunrun rep sold me.
I submitted clear documentation, including screenshots and a full breakdown of the discrepancy. Despite Sunrun’s assurance that a review would take place, I’ve received nothing but generic, canned responses — including a July 4 message that promised a follow-up that never came. It’s now been weeks.
To make matters worse, I put off referring friends and family — costing me real financial opportunities — because I wanted to resolve my own experience first. That good-faith decision has cost me time and money, and Sunrun continues to ignore the issue completely.
This experience has made me lose all trust in Sunrun as a company. What was supposed to be a long-term partnership based on clean energy and savings has become an exhausting and infuriating ordeal. I will be pursuing legal options and do not recommend this company to anyone.

Sunrun is a great solar company. My experience has been excellent. Our rep Christopher Miranda was professional and patient. I was always hesitant about getting solar, but once Christopher explained the process in great detail and we got our system installed we were glad we made the right choice. Christopher continues to promptly help answer any questions that come up.

I’m writing this to warn others in the City of Lathrop, CA about SunRun's disturbing door-to-door sales tactics, which directly violate local law and rely on deception to trick homeowners.
Despite a clearly visible “No Soliciting” sign on my front door — exactly where it’s required by § 5.24.020(B)(6) of the Lathrop Municipal Code — a SunRun representative knocked anyway, aggressively trying to start a sales pitch. This isn't just annoying — it’s illegal.
Even worse, the rep falsely implied SunRun was “your solar company,” clearly trying to mislead me into thinking they were affiliated with my existing provider. This type of false advertising is unethical and predatory.
The law in Lathrop is explicit: door-to-door soliciting at a home with a posted “No Soliciting” sign is prohibited, and SunRun continues to ignore this. If their business depends on violating local ordinances and misleading homeowners, that tells you all you need to know about their integrity.
SunRun — you are not welcome here. Stop breaking the law, and stop trying to trick people.

I had solar panels installed by Sunrun in 2023
The system has been under performing from inception and Sunrun consistently failed to rectify the problem. First they dropped the ball and said every thing was working fine until i found almost 12 months after installation when i reviewed the data that the system was working at 50% capacity. Sunrun time and again failed to come in and fix the problem. Latest information they will come Aug 4 to fix it. Almost 18 months of underperformance. High electric bills and loss of money.
The salesperson Gerry Pontones was very nice when selling the system but not helpful at all in solving the problem. The person assigned to handle the case at sunrun, a young woman was unprofessional, rude and unhelpful.
In the final analysis, go with some other company.

The team was very good at explaining everything and did a great job on the install. Kevin did a great sales job and Patrick helped me navigate the Tesla App so easily. Highly recommend Sunrun.

I had some solar panels installed by Sun Run. Well I thought that everything was right until it rain. My house been leaking water through the Sun Run panels since Friday. I call the company don't have anyone to fix my problem until possible another 24hrs. So much to taking care of the customer. I would not recommend Sun Run to to my worst enemy. You have been warned. They just want your money.
