I have been waiting for a reimbursement for a BER certificate from Swyft for close to 2 months now. I call, I email and I get no response and then I press repeat. It is wearisome having to chase. I feel very disrespected as a customer.

I went with them and so far so good on the panels and the kit. However try get a call back from them... good luck... I am also looking to put in a battery and having called them 5 times and raising a request for a price in their web site... still no luck or contact back 3 months on... what is up with a company that does not want to sell their customers more kit..

Have requested to have a battery attached to my system since march 2026.after several phone calls latest over 3 weeks still no response. Will have to move to another company.

I have been extremely disappointed with my experience with Bord Gáis Solar/Swyft.

My installation was missed on two scheduled dates, 3 and 6 September. On the first occasion, the team did not have a suitable-height hoist, despite a prior site survey. I had taken two full days of annual leave, causing significant inconvenience.

I also clearly requested on at least ten occasions that 12 solar panels be installed, but this information was apparently not passed to the installation team. Since making full payment, communication has been extremely poor. Despite repeated calls, I have received no meaningful update, confirmed installation date, or clear explanation.

The contrast between the frequent communication before payment and the lack of support afterwards has been particularly disappointing. I would not recommend Bord Gáis Solar based on this experience unless they significantly improve their planning, internal communication, and customer service.

Slow not Swyft. Avoid.

Nearly lost my Solar TAMS application because of this lot.
Initially they were very efficient on the phone and had a fella who called out to check out the job. All looked to be great with them at this point.
They initially began my TAMS application (having paid them a deposit of €1,000) but when the Department required extra pieces of information on my application, one of their employees said he'd look after it. When I followed up a week later to see if he had done it,he said he had it sorted. However,I received another letter from the Department a few days later looking for the same pieces of information and telling me this was my final reminder! I rang the two different contacts I had for this company and neither bothered to pick up or call me back. Some service! Eventually after a number of emails I received a call from a different employee who told me the Department and my advisor had all the information they needed! I told her if they did we wouldn't be having this conversation. Later that day I received a call from another employee apologising for the whole mess they had caused and he would look after the final submission but at that stage I was done with the company after going through all of that hassle. From looking at other reviews on here,I'm glad they didn't install for me.

I have a problem with my battery,red light came on,we have done the reboot as per instructions. I contacted swyft energy roughly a month ago about this problem and no response. After installation support is shocking. Would advise people to avoid Swyft energy.

Absolute shower of chancers. These guys are expensive, and you do not get anything extra for that money.
The sales-pitch tells you not to worry, as they are part of Bord Gais so you know they can be relied upon...they claim to have excellent installers working for them, you don't have to worry about random guys doing installations who have wont be around in a few years time etc.
What you then get is what the sales-guy warns you against....some random subcontractors who don't work for Bord Gais or Swyft. They show up with no care about safety in their work or in their attitude. And you are then left hanging as you try to get them back to rectify the hazardous installation. No one answers the phone. No one gets back to you....total cowboys.
You are as well off hiring someone for cheaper, as the install is done by some subcontractor and after-sales service is simply not there.

13 solar panels installed 27/05/'26. Five of them were not connected. Calling and left on hold for 30 mins at a time. No response from Swyft Energy. Abysmal after sales service.

Poor customer service and installation for solar panels. They took total advantage of an elderly person with solar panel installation. No proper follow up. Almost 6 months after installing and paying in full the panels were not connected properly. They out source all work. They took total advantage of an elderly person saying upgrades needed which were paid for as extra to the company but not carried out. Extremely poor customer service. Very difficult to follow up as they delay returning calls and it's very difficult for elderly person to navigate

Excellent service from start to finish. Everything was very well explained and quote was perfectly itemised. Work on the day was efficient, clean and extremely professional. Highly recommended.

Like all of these types of services, it's the ones who can communicate, support and build trust that win out as leaders.

Their sales rep was good at his job. Pushy, resilient but clearly all about the sale, which is standard and fair.

However, he communicated that there might be room to fit more on our roof than previously thought but he didn't later confirm.

The opening pitch was about saving money through a group scheme that was never properly explained so we soon wrote it off as BS.

Today, the panels are working out well and the app is handy, but the contractors disappeared without saying goodbye after fitting them.

The next day that it rained, I noticed a new heavy drip landing just beside my front door.

Later when it was mentioned to Swyft's phone team that one of the gutter hangers was damaged by their contractors, there was a half hearted effort to get someone out to fix it, which didn't happen in the end.

If trust is important to you, just know that they could not execute a simple fix like this and have passed the cost of the (small) repair on to us.

They're clearly struggling operationally so it's a bit of a worry if later support is required, as this typically follows sales in terms of strategic priority in a growing company.

Thankfully there is a range of service providers to choose from, and more affordable, so definitely shop around and have your guard up when they try to get you to pay the 100 euro deposit for the SEI grant early on. Even a thousand euro cheaper with better or equal service will be a win.

I haven't jumped at their referral scheme as a result following 2 sets of neighbours enquiring about our panels since installed. Hence, I wouldn't recommend - try your luck elsewhere in my experience.

Excellent customer service. The install itself was very efficient and completed on time. Engineer was personable and provided clear instructions on how to use the boiler.

Just had our system installed and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. Our salesman Chris couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. He advised us every step of the way, answering all our questions and explained the process very well. I'm very happy with the system he suggested would suit our electricity usage. The installation was quick and tidy and the app is very easy to understand. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone.

We couldn't be happier with the service Dylan provided from start to finish. He was professional, knowledgeable, and made the whole solar panel installation process straightforward and stress-free. He took the time to answer all of our questions and kept us informed every step of the way.
What really stood out was his after-sales support. I cannot recommend Swyft Energy enough. From start to finish, they made the whole experience of replacing my gas boiler a delight. Extremely efficient service, with delightful staff who took the time to explain everything in simple English. Follow-on telephone call ensued to ensure everything in working order. They even applied for my 10 year warranty certificate.

After contacting about 4 different solar installers we decided to go with Bord gáis energy. Everyone we dealt with from Andreas who arrived on site to design and scale a suitable system for our needs, Chris who became our point of contact from then on to both the roofing and electricial teams everyone to a man were really excellent, always on hand at every step of the process and readily available to answer any questions as well as giving real advice. The work was completed in one day and as scheduled. The quality and neatness of the work itself was outstanding. The hand over and and explanation on how the system works and the use of the App itself was all made very simple and clear. The level of professionalism shown by the people we dealt with is what one would expect from a large company such as Bord gais energy and its exactly the reason we went with them.

The Sigenergy system with 15 solar panels and 15kw of battery storage is a game changer. In the 22 days since install solar has accounted for over 600kwh with over 300kwh exported and the 15kw battery which is charged on solar only at the moment is more than covering any electricity requirments during the time between sunset and sunrise and have only required 3kwh from the grid in all that time which is impressive for a family of 6 with a heatpump. With credit built up from exporting the excess to the grid in summer months together with a smart tarrif with cheap night rate to charge the batteries in the winter months we look forward to making huge savings on energy bills.

Excellent service and Chris Leahy was very helpful. Would highly recommend Swyft to get the job done and after sales care. Full 5 Stars all the way through.

From the initial enquiry up to installation the customer service was super efficient. Chris explained everything and followed up with an email within an hour after calling to the house. There were no delays and the installation team arrived on time and had the solar panels fitting within a few hours. There was minimum interruption while the electrics were being completed. Highly recommend Bord Gais Swift energy.
