Have no product and no refund
Was a Kalahari client and have been a Takealot customer since its inception.
Bought an inverter. Item box (not inside Takealot packaging) was delivered unsealed. Did not think to photograph the item when it arrived (my mistake).
Opened the box, charged the inverter and tested it but discovered that the charge only lasts for a short period and that I needed a more powerful inverter. Logged a return within 7 days.
Takealot collected the item.
Takealot rejected the return on the basis that the item had been 'opened' and 'used'. Not sure how it is possible to test and item without opening it!
This matter has been ongoing since March 2024 with Takealot refusing to refund my money.
I don't have the item and don't have my refund
It has been a most unpleasant experience.
I will never shop at Takealot again.
Needed a speaker for a music event
Needed a speaker for a music event. It was larger than expected, so I returned it for the smaller version. It's since been over a month of takealot losing the item, and ignoring emails.
The music event is in 2 days and I now have no speaker, and no refund to use to source it myself.
Utterly terrible experience, and (of course) no way to telephone for support. Stay away!
Wrong order
I ordered a pink One Step Hair Dryer and styler for my natural 4c hair and what did i get instead….a SOKANY Hair straightener brush with ceramic pins that is not ideal for my hair type🙄worse i’m not in SA. People in SA complain about the return process imagine how long it would have to take me in Zim to return a wrong order..i am not impressed i paid R500 for this. reselling will give me a loss since similar products cost way less on the market

I placed an order on 30th March
I placed an order on 30th March. It was scheduled to be delivered on 3rd April 2024, it was never delivered and rescheduled for 7th April never delivered amazingly it was on a Sunday got an sms notification while in church rushed home no delivery. I decided to cancel the order because they were not sending any communication. On the 10th April they told the courier tried to deliver without calling methe was nobody at my place while I was home. On 17th I was told the order was delivered and received at my home without a a signature or calling me. I am struggling to get an answer from Takealot no response from them. They ignore my email and messages. Fool me one shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. This the third time I have problems with this devilish company and I have learnt my lesson well and I am done.
Missing Sunglasses Refunded
I recently decided to treat myself to a pair of RayBan sunglasses. Long story short, I bought a pair, and an empty case was delivered to my door, I immediately reported that I had paid for a very expensive item and received an imaginary one. From my initial phone call to the day my refund was submitted, I was treated with the utmost respect and professionalism. So much so, that the entire experience makes for a great story vs a traumatic one. Thank you Takealot.
Takealot is definitely not a happy shopping experience anymore
Got a mail after waiting 5 days saying the item is out of stock, but checked there site and it is still available to purchase. And this is not the 1st time this has happened.

No refund or returned item steeling my money
I have struggled since October to receive my item or even a refund back today I receive an email saying a mspinini signed on behalf of me. Firstly I know no one with that name and no one works or lives at my home with that name. I was not notified of delivery or order collection. I have multiple emails from them they say the seal on the box was broken but how am I supposed to check the light if I do not open the box. The item was returned with no damage and since then in October I have been struggling to get my refund or even the return of the item back and they allow someone else to sign on behalf of me that doesn't even live at my house. They are steeling my money and I have spent so much money at takealot I am absolutely disgusted with the way they are treating me and the situation.
Disaster
I was delivered a wrong item, but they could not find a way return it in the system. Days later, once they figured out the way to return it, they insisted on sending the replacement even though I kept asking for refund. Then they refunded as a credit in their site!!! I cannot use it if I am not in SA! In short - VERY poorly organized company. Should they manage to arrange for actual refund, I will update my feedback.

Takealot has a great variety of products. They are up to date with the processing of my orders.
And .... of course everybody experienced their super fast deliveries!
They also don't have a problem with a once in a while return.
False advertising of next day delivery.
Purchasing 2x items on the website which had the next day delivery icon on the product and both were in stock.
Not only did they fail to deliver the items the next day, they didn't even ship the items on time and won't meet the promised delivery date.
The service delivery has become rather poor over the last year.
Takealot AEG dishwasher disaster
We ordered a AEG dishwasher, it arrived but it had a dent on the door, we returned the item to takealot and requested a new one, they have since delivered the very same dishwasher three times, we have purchased electrical items before from Takealot and have not had a problem but this is ridicules.
Takealot did it again
I am buying from Takealot for many years. Ten years ago their services were mediocre. Then it changed to excellent. Now it is poor. They will not except negative reviews. This is unfair and unethical behavior. I slowly but surely looking for alternative online shops. I definitely do not recommend Takealot. Andre Niemand.
Abysmal customer service.
I ordered a projector with them. It came without remote even though it was in the description. They reacted fairly quickly but kept sending me questions and when I tried to reply by email, I repeatedly got an "user unknown" rejection message from the mail server. Either they closed the case quickly and therefore the mail was no longer valid or they deliberately send a non functioning return email address which would be malicious. I opened another case and the same thing happened! They finally "solved" the problem by going dark, ie. they did simply not react to the open tickets. Sorry, but I have never seen a worse "customer service". Fun fact: on their mission statement, they have all sorts of good intentions. But in reality these are just hollow words. This was my first and last order with them, that is for sure.
Great after sales service
Great service, ordered an inverter which was dead on arrival. After submitting a return on the site, the item was taken back and replaced within 3 days. Great after sales service.
takealot made me wait 2 weeks at first…
takealot made me wait 2 weeks at first for my order which at first wasn't a problem, they then updated me and said I'd have to wait till the end of the month. my order before this was delayed as well and one item was lost completely. I'm honestly shocked at how poorly they treat customers as the only thing they offered me was for me to cancel my order which would mean crediting my account, money they would use to make a profit. egregious I doubt I'll be doing business with them after this and I'll definitely be warning friends and family to STAY AWAY FROM TAKEALOT.COM
What a bunch of scaly people
What ta bunch of scaly people. I order and pay for a product and because I dont pick it up soon enough too their taste they just take it back, my property. They sell me an ASUS laptop I5 (2021), it is 5 times slower than a 2009 MAC. Maybe you can buy A4 copy paper, BIC pens, Pampers, condoms and Sanitary towels from them. I received 8 mails concerning 1 subject, what a joke.
Collection of my order
As I received exciting messages from Takealot to collect my order, I became very disappointed after queueing for a long time at their collection point.
The que was not moving for a long time and the guy in front of me told me that he was there for second time today. He came earlier and was told his order could not be found.
So far I was happy with the online progress communication, however, after an attempt to collect my order, I am disappointed. Remember! First impressions last for ever.
