Our family Tanzanian safari and…
Our family Tanzanian safari and Zanzibar trip was in celebration of my 60th birthday in July and I have to say from my initial enquiry to ongoing dialogue via WhatsApp call / message and emails with Katia, our travel consultant, was great as she was very responsive in answering questions and helping to map out our itinerary, including internal flights to Zanzibar!
Our programme, lodges and luxury camp were well thought out with breathtaking locations and excellent food which was plentiful (breakfast, lunch and dinner)!
On pick up at Kilimanjaro Airport, our Safari guide Jocob was so friendly, insightful and looked out for our every need!
Not only did he give us so much interesting information about the history and culture of Tanzania; it’s people, animals, the national parks, conservation areas, etc., he was so good at spotting / seeking out animals during our 4 day safari along with positioning us in great spots to get full view and great picture of the animals and magnificent landscapes!
We were also grateful for the opportunity to visit a Masai village to learn in person about their culture, history and way of life. All of which enriched our whole experience in Tanzania!
We are a family of four (mum, dad and two adult children) who thoroughly enjoyed our time in Tanzania with our guide Jacob who went above and beyond, even seeking out a doctor one morning when I wasn’t feeling my best self!
I highly recommend Tanzania Specialist to anyone seeking a quality private Safari in Tanzania, even Kenya, as my nephew is now liaising with them re his planned Safari to the Masai Mara in March.
Thank you Tanzania Specialist, until next time!

We booked last minute and they sorted everything out including a fantastic guide. Very varied levels of accommodation as we wanted. Food at Giraffe Manor was fabulous. All the team working at the various sites were brilliant - coudn't do enough for us. Only slight criticism is that we had an internal flight and the luggage limit is different to international flights so be careful of that. Otherwise our agent was brilliant! Amazing holiday

Dream Family Holiday in Tanzania
We started planning our family trip over a year ago. We wanted to bring our family including eleven individuals across three generations. From the very beginning we were impressed with Joseline’s communication and attention to detail. She responded quickly to any questions or concerns. Every aspect of our trip, from pick up in Arusha to drop off at the airport in Zanzibar, was perfect. Our guides, Simon and Julius, were professional, polite, and knowledgeable. The accommodations and meals at every location were excellent. Our family appreciated seeing the many animals up close. We appreciated visiting a local school, a Maasai village, and taking a bicycle tour. When two of our family members were ill, Janeth contacted us immediately offering support. It was truly an experience we won’t forget. Thank you to all at Tanzania Specialists who made our family holiday the best ever! We highly recommend this excellent company!

It is also fantastic to know that Simon and Julius made your safari so memorable with their professionalism, knowledge, and warm hospitality. We are equally pleased that you enjoyed the carefully selected accommodations, delicious meals, and the incredible wildlife encounters that Tanzania has to offer.

Caring for our guests throughout their journey is something we take great pride in.

The safari was great!
The safari was amazing, our guide was great! The lodges were wonderful and the staff were friendly. I was slightly disappointed that when we had someone come to sell us excursions in Zanzibar, she told us a price, repeated the price, and then entered in a higher price and was shocked when we noticed and I canceled. Very disappointed with that and though the resort was amazing in Zanzibar, it was disappointing to be so far away from the towns, it was as just too expensive to take a taxi or to book excursions that were cheaper online. However, overall we had a wonderful time.

Dear Customer,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are delighted to hear that you had an amazing safari and that your guide, the lodges, and the friendly staff all contributed to a memorable experience.
We also appreciate your comments regarding the location of your Zanzibar resort. While many of our beachfront properties are selected for their peaceful surroundings and beautiful beaches, we understand that this can sometimes mean being farther from local towns and attractions. Your feedback will help us better guide future guests based on their preferences for either tranquility or easy access to nearby attractions.
At the same time, we are sorry to learn about your experience with the excursion representative in Zanzibar. We understand how disappointing it must have been to be quoted one price only to see a higher amount entered afterward. This is certainly not the level of transparency we expect from our partners, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We will share your feedback with the relevant team to help ensure a better experience for future travelers.
We are pleased that, despite these concerns, you had a wonderful overall holiday and created great memories during your time in Tanzania.
Thank you once again for your valuable feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for another unforgettable adventure in the future.

Dear Kevin Vandertoorn,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.
We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your safari and the incredible wildlife encounters. It is wonderful to know that Joshua's excellent coordination with the other guides helped ensure you were always in the best position to spot the animals. We'll be sure to pass along your kind words to him.
We are also pleased that you had such a memorable stay at Sound of Silence Camp. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the camp as well as Olerai being the outstanding one and that rest of the staff made your stay so special with their outstanding hospitality.
At the same time, we are sorry to learn of your disappointment regarding the operational surcharge. We understand how frustrating it was to receive this additional charge shortly before your departure. The surcharge was introduced in response to the significant increase in operational costs, particularly fuel prices, affecting safari operations at the time. While we appreciate that this explanation does not lessen the impact on your experience, we value your honest feedback and understand your perspective.
Thank you once again for sharing both the highlights and your concerns. Your feedback is important to us as we continue to improve our communication and overall guest experience. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Tanzania for another unforgettable safari in the future.

Trip of a lifetime
The trip was everything we could have asked for and more. Our tour guide 'Millya' was amazing. He was truly passionate in his job and we could tell he loved what he was doing. He was so informative and is truly what made the trip amazing. Seeing the animals is one thing but being able to learn and see it through the eyes of someone who sees this regularly and still is in awe of nature was my favorite part of the trip.

Fabulous safari
We had a fabulous time on safari with our guide Lazaro. We saw so many animals close to our van and easily completed the big 5. Lazaro was knowledgeable about both animals and birds and excellent at spotting animals from far away. We always managed to get a great viewing spot especially for the Wildebeest migration accross the Mara river.
The lodges we stayed in were excellent and exceeded our expectations - spotless with hot showers and WiFi and friendly staff. The food was also delicious and the lodges catered for our dietary requirements amazingly well ( nut free, gluten free and vegetarian.
We all had an amazing time - thank you

Once in a Lifetime - do this tour
This was an amazing tour. Our guide was exceptional. All hotels and lodges were fantastic. Well organized. We also spent 4 days at the end of the tour in Zanzibar. The only downside was the resort was a long way from a city. So only organized tours could be purchased to leave the resort to see more of the Island. Otherwise, it was a wonderful place to relax.

We had everything we needed, wanted and wished for. A great guide, perfect accommodations, great food, a full and smooth itinerary, fabulous game drives at times to suit us and we achieved sightings of so many different animals (including the big 5) as they went about their daily business. We also were able to observe the local population and get to appreciate some of their challenges and successes. Everyone we encountered was helpful, cheerful and positive.
