Not surprised they only got bad…

Not surprised they only got bad reviews. They’re so strict with their group on fb and tell everyone to avoid spending money on portfolio services but they go and do the same shhhh by trying to sell people overpriced ebooks. Greedy

They advise you to avoid certain…

They advise you to avoid certain companies who do portfolios for clients and give ebooks. They themselves charge for an ebook/advice that you can get online for free. The cheek!

These guys are funny

These guys are funny. You join their Facebook group, they get abusive if you don’t read their featured posts. Then they ask you to buy some ebook thing which they say is all the advice I need. How is different to what other companies that they tell you to avoid? Lol

From Support Group to Sales Funnel: What Happened to the Community?

I joined the “Parents of Child Models UK” group because it genuinely felt different from the rest. Open, honest, and not out to exploit new parents. It was one of the few places where people could speak freely, share real experiences, and look out for each other. But lately, something’s changed and not in a good way.

What started as a community feels more like a business now. You can sense it in how they communicate, in what they push, and in what they no longer allow.

The group’s tone used to be conversational and transparent. now it’s curated, controlled, and clearly driving towards selling something.

The comments section being turned off around the same time they started promoting their website and ebook says a lot.

I’m not against people making money from their time or knowledge, but let’s be honest most of the advice being packaged and sold was built from the community itself.

Parents have been freely contributing that information for years. Now, suddenly, it’s behind a paywall, and you’re being told you need to buy in or risk missing out. That doesn’t sit right with me.

What really pushed me over the edge, though, is the change in how dissent is handled. It used to be okay to question things. Now if you raise concerns, you’re either ignored or made to feel like you’re being negative. And that’s the issue this was supposed to be a safe space for open dialogue. If you can’t question something without being shut down, it’s no longer a community. it’s a brand.

I still think the group helped a lot of people in the beginning. But the direction it’s heading now feels more self-serving than supportive.

If you’re a new parent joining the group, just know that while there’s still good advice to be found, not everything is as community-driven as it might seem.

I’m using a fake name on purpose…

I’m using a fake name on purpose because if I use my real name then they will probably slate me in the group. It’s funny how you guys deactivated the comments section when you started promoting this new website that you have decided to set up so that you can start making money from us parents.

Initially you started the group to help parents and have grown so much because of all the good work you have done for us parents. But now you are just trying to make money of us just like these other portfolio companies you tell us to avoid. What makes you different from them?

Why should we pay £30/£40 to you for the same free advice you have always told us is available for free.

It’s very disappointing that you welcomed all us parents to your group for free and now want to make money from us and deactivating comments so we cannot post our genuine feedback to you.

What makes you two experts when we have a whole group helping each other?

Not Worth the Hype or the Price. Feels Like a Cash Grab Disguised as a Support Group

After being a member of the Facebook group “Parents of Child Models UK” run by the several people, I initially felt I was part of a helpful, tight-knit community of parents sharing honest advice about the child modelling world.

The group positioned itself as a safe space to support families, share tips, and expose the shady practices of certain modelling agencies.

But that image quickly shattered after I decided to purchase their much-promoted e-book.

They’ve spent years criticising portfolio pushers and claiming they’re against selling false hope to parents. Yet, the very e-book they’re now selling seems to do exactly that.

For the price, I expected exclusive insights, industry contacts, or at the very least updated, actionable content. Instead, it’s mostly rehashed information that’s already available for free online or in the group’s own threads.

I mean even the shoot tips and agency advice are things parents have been openly sharing for years. no one needed to pay for that before.

Even worse, the group has now turned into a funnel for upsells. The book is being positioned as a “must-have” to avoid being left behind, and once you’re in, you’re being nudged toward paid 1-to-1 calls with supposed “experts.”

But dig a little deeper, and it turns out these calls are with individuals who don’t hold any formal experience or qualifications in the modelling industry. (Check their backgrounds) many are just fellow parents or stay-at-home mums offering advice based on personal experience. Nothing wrong with that in theory, but charging for it is a stretch when the same information circulates for free in dozens of Facebook groups and public forums.

As a long standing member, I'm frustrated over this new direction. The founders are now monetising what was supposed to be a community effort.

It’s disappointing to see a support group morph into a commercial funnel, especially when it’s targeting new and hopeful parents navigating a tricky industry. If you’re thinking about buying the ebook, save your money and just do a Google search.
