Ms. Lemi is a great teacher and person. She makes kids feel comfortable around her. My opinionated child always wants to attend her classes . She makes her boot camp sessions challenging and fun. She encourages children to learn new concepts and is very patient in teaching them. After my son masters a concept she teaches him, he feels very proud of his achievement. Moreover Ms. Lemi puts a lot of time in working with parents. She shares a lot of valuable resources and explains how to teach kids unfamiliar concepts. I highly recommend "critical thinking child" to other parents who either want to prepare children for the admission exams or looking for enrichment opportunities for them.

My son is now six but he attended Lemi's workshop in pre-K and he was reading before his 4th birthday. He continues to perform above grade level, his reading skills are phenomenal and his vocabulary extensive. We no longer live in IL otherwise I would do the summer session again. This program is worth it.

The results speak for themselves. Our son attended CTC’s boot camp and we believe that it was one of the critical pieces that helped him get accepted into one of CPS’ selective enrollment kindergartens. We found Lemi very knowledgeable and approachable and our son actually enjoyed going to her classes. Her team (particularly Stacy) were outstanding. Part of the value is not just what your child learns but what you learn as a parent so that you can do a better job of helping your child learn at home. Let’s face it, most parents (me!) don’t have a system for teaching our children and can use all of the help and guidance that we can get. We would not hesitate to recommend CTC to anyone looking to build a super solid foundation for their child’s learning. Just remember: you are your child’s first and last teacher and you have to be engaged in the process.

completely waste of time and cost.. literally they dont teach kids anything instead say they are good at match the following and certain alphabet recognition.. we dont send our kids with so much money to learn alphabets as that is thought at home and multiple other places.. v disappointed.. decided will never send my daughter.. same were the review by other 3 parents

Absolutely amazing! Lemi is doing remarkable things with our scholars. My 8 year old is working with her over the summer and his reading skills and overall thinking skills have shown amazing growth. He is thinking more about questions before he answers. He doesn't get as frustrated as before when we are doing reading assignments. We will not have to worry about that summer gap. My scholar will be well prepared for the fall. Lemi also provides great information and exercises for me as the parent to ensure that I continue to help my scholar with his educational growth. Definitely worthwhile.

My daughter looked forward to going to boot camp "brain games" each and every week! The parent checklists and resources were extremely helpful for me along with the assessments. We are very happy with our experience with Lemi and her team.

Lemi Ola Erinkitola provides the necessary tools for the children to develop Critical Thinking Skills to become lifelong learners. The Brain Boot Camp learning environment is designed to meet each child where they are academically and developmentally. The Critical Thinking Child Workbooks and materials utilized in the sessions cover various topics - Academic Testing, Core Standards, Cybersafety, and Spatial Reasoning, just to name a few. The Critical Thinking Child is a most needed and valuable resource for both the child and parent. The Critical Thinking Child is highly recommended!

Lemi is one of the best educational minds in the nation. Her program is results driven and helps children solve problems in a practical way. The activities not only increase students knowledge, but they are designed to build a foundation and paradigm to increase their ability to learn increasingly difficult concepts. Both of my children are about 4 years ahead in reading and math. I know it is due to the training they have done with Lemi. Thanks to Lemi The Amazing Green Kids (Jael and Caleb Green) are an academic force to be reckon with!

Lemi is wonderful in her knowledge and work with children. Both of my school-aged sons have done the academic assessments with her. The result has been confirmation of their strong areas and clear direction about the areas that requires more work. I would highly recommend her and will definitely use her services for my 3rd son too!

My young children were evaluated by Lemi, and her specific feedback from the results were helpful. She identified areas of reading, math and critical thinking, that I could focus on with each child as the testing date drew close. This was something I very much appreciated, especially for my first child (as we were newbies to the Selective Enrollment process). I also attended a boot camp session where she worked with children in the presence of their parents; so parents could also benefit from watching her interaction with the children. She has an easy style with the children, and they were comfortable answering her questions in a very short time after meeting her. As a parent, working with your child is paramount. However, having resources such as Lemi and the Critical Thinking Child is helpful indeed!

My son worked with Lemi and her team when he was 4, and he gained incredible ground in a very short time. The teachers not only taught him a lot, but then they came out to the waiting room and taught me how to help him move forward. The techniques were incredible. Stuff I had never heard of that really made a difference. Manipulatives that worked. Certain handwriting programs that really worked. And a way to learn a lot of words really fast that sent him into a really high reading level. They told me his math needed very little work which allowed us to focus on his reading/writing. He ultimately got into one of the best schools in CPS and Illinois and the school fits like a glove. I don't think this should be the end goal, but I wanted to give him the opportunity... it just so happens he responded easily.

My daughter is now starting classes and she is a totally different person than her brother, but Lemi and her team have her pegged too. The very first day, they knew her strengths and weaknesses and walked through them one by one with patience and a smile.

I really can't say enough about this team of educators. They really are superhero teachers.

As a master’s level professor at University of Chicago, I have very high expectations for teaching and I can say that Critical Thinking Child has exceeded my expectations in every way.

I have sent both of my Children to multiple boot camps at Critical Thinking Child and I can’t say enough good things. My children both LOVE learning and have LEARNED an immense amount. Many parents worry, myself included, that sending your child to a focused learning program will make them hate learning, but Critical Thinking Child has been the exact opposite. Critical Thinking Child has fostered a tremendous love on learning.

I have two children who both attended tutoring sessions and Bootcamp with The Critical Thinking Child prior to starting kindergarten. In both instances, they had such a good time that I am not sure they even realized that they were learning. In addition, staff gave my husband and I many ideas, tools and games to play with our kids at home to further enhance their development. I recommend The Critical Thinking Child to all of my friends, especially those who are navigating the selective enrollment process at Chicago Public Schools. Lemi and her staff are incredibly knowledgeable and patient with both students and their parents.

I can not express enough how much I appreciate Lemi and her team. My son took the practice test we were very impressed with the quality and rigor of the process. The feedback was extremely thoughtful and helpful as we continued to prepare him for the selective enrollment process. To go even further, Lemi offered to meet with me to go over some additional feedback (and to administer the gifted test to my son since we didn't originally get that). She went above and beyond to answer questions, provide practical tips and advice, and even followed up to see how things worked out for us. I'm proud to say that my son was offered a seat at one of the top 10 selective enrollment schools in the state and score in the 97th percentile in reading. I attribute a lot of this to Lemi's assessment which allowed us to focus in on his areas of development as well as positively reinforce him for areas where he excelled. I highly recommend this program and am so grateful for the support they have offered my family!

The Critical Thinking Child Boot Camp class was an overall great experience for our family. Our daughter learned how to problem solve, extend patterns, and use critical thinking skills to enhance her already advanced reasoning. In addition, we parents learned strategies to use with her to help advance her reading, math, and critical thinking skills not only while actually doing the "homework" for class but also while participating in every day activities. She looked forward to (what she liked to call) her "Brain Games" class every week! Sidenote: She was accepted into our top choice CPS Regional Gifted Center program (even living in Tier 4!), and I'm sure part of it had to do with what we learned from The Critical Thinking Child Boot Camp. I signed up my 4th grade daughter for Lemi's boot camp because her sister had benefitted from the class years ago. She was excited to attend and focused on doing her "homework" which alone would make it a success in my book. Working with her on the homework I could see that Lemi was teaching her skills that would be very helpful for upcoming CPS tests.

This presentation helped me understand how to better prepare children to be critical thinkers. As a parent I could relate to the stories and I know my kids need extra challenges like the ones that were described.

The Critical Thinking Child is a unique program that empowers parents to unlock the natural academic ability of their children by focusing on the right tools to work with their children. I met the founder when my child was not yet 2. I had read all of the books on brain development of children, but still was initially skeptical of what a two year old could do. The owner assessed my child and created a plan that I followed. By the age of three, my child knew letters and sounds of letters and was starting to read CVC words. A year later, my child is reading over the first grade level. My child is also developing math skills. My child greatly enjoyed the academic boot camps as well. Again, this is not just a tutoring program. As a parent, I always felt empowered to try different fun, and engaging activities with my child. If possible, I would recommend starting as early as possible. You will be especially amazed at what your child can do at a young age. The cost is not cheap, but I was already working significantly with my child and locating lots of home school type resources to do activities at home. I found that this program's recommendations almost always was different than my own research, and the reading recommendations in particular advanced my child much further than any reading resources I located on my own. As a busy parent, I appreciated receiving recommendations for proven resources instead of having to waste money trying multiple programs or workbooks to see what worked. This was a long review, but I highly recommend this company!
