After appalling level of service with them turning up without the right equipment/materials, cancelling last minute on numerous occasions and their customer portal being blank so it not being clear what they were even aiming to do - they finally did pitch up to do scarification and overseeing. I was not at home so took me till my day off to realise they only treated my back lawn. When I complained their response was that they had only ever quoted and contracted for the rear lawn, despite admitting that my initial contact had requested both and that they had initially measured both lawns. Apparently their operative had ‘unticked’ one lawn and they tried to claim this had been agreed- but couldn’t say when, by whom or why. Absolute nonsense! why I would have one lawn treated and not the other, and if I did why this would be the one at the rear of my property is beyond comprehension. They tried to fob me off with a ‘one off treatment’ for both lawns - but I’ve made it clear that I only agreed to the fees they quoted on my understanding that it was for both lawns. I have no faith in them and will try and cancel my ‘contract’ and I intend to fight them on the outstanding invoice.

We booked hollow tine aeration in early September and expected a wait due to a hot summer and very dry ground. Received email on 19th October, they were coming the next day! What they actually did was slicing aeration. We phoned the same day as they produced an invoice for immediate payment. They told us we had to pay as we had the service; all methods of aeration were the same cost. It was pointed out that we didn't get the service we booked and were told there was no mention of hollow tine on our account. The first person we spoke to, to challenge this could see hollow tine on our record! We were then told we cancelled a consultation, this was news to us, we had cancelled nothing! The man stated they phoned us and got no reply..so why didn't they leave a message (we have voicemail on at all times)? When we agreed to pay but asked what they would do about it, we were told they couldn't do anything as it would cause too much damage to the lawn and this treatment should only be done once a year.
To summarise - a waste of £118. When something goes wrong it's the customers fault! If you use this company, dot the i's and cross the t's and get in writing exactly what they will do, when and at what cost.

Kaivan turned up on time.
Was interested in my garden, and carried out scarification and tining thoroughly.
Cleaned up beautifully.
Was courteous and a pleasure to have around.
Strongly recommended.

I have used Green Thumb a number of years and was always happy but recently the franchise owner changed and the level of service has been terrible. You can’t contact the local branch and the head office team it seems are swamped with complaints and take days to respond. I will not be using their service in future.

David and Louie came today from Green thumb Manchester North west to scarify and aerate the lawn . These guys are wonderful. They were professional, curtious very polite with great customer service , making sure at all times I was kept informed what they were doing and left my garden tidy. I have used Green Thumb for many years and they never fail to impress. Great job guys would recommend your service to everyone .

Was completely happy with the service we received from Brenden at Green Thumb B Lawns and Gardening, he did a great job and did it when he said he would.

Terrible Service from Head Office. We will be using someone else now after several years. The operators are good.

My elderly aunt has Greenthumb. She is 96! I rang to pay amount owed and cancel a/c. They would not do it. Not at all helpful. Impossible to cancel! Don’t go with them!

We paid for green thumb for around 1 year. In June our lawn looked perfect, they visited end of June and by 13th July our lawn was almost completely dead. We raised a complaint and they sent someone out who said we had a leatherjacket infestation and that we could pay £80 for them to treat it but our grass would not recover without a full renovation. I cancelled the service, raised a complaint and got a second opinion. Green thumb then had the audacity to try to charge me for ending the subscription and the second opinion showed there was no pest infestation, the grass had been killed by whatever was sprayed on it.
We are now looking at £4000 for a returf or £800 for a full reseed.
I am still waiting to hear back from their complaints team and have asked that they reseed the lawn free of charge or provide compensation for us to pay someone else to renovate it.

Paying £48 for a lawn treatment that took just six minutes — including getting the equipment in and out of the van and putting the flyer through the letterbox — pretty much sums up this company.

For the price charged, the service was extremely disappointing. I would definitely avoid this company.

Dylan was polite and efficient and turned up promptly at our allocated slot yesterday 6 August. He diligently sprayed the lawns and hopefully it eliminates the moss which keeps creeping back in this humid summer. There have been issues with zero to poor responses from the new Swedish firm who took over green thumb early in 2026 in explaining no shows on appointments made by them and zero response to a complaint!! 5 stars to Dylan; one star to Swedish corporate who evidently from reading other reviews is too big to care about its UK customers.

I have been very disappointed in the service provided this year by Green Thumb. In previous years I was very satisfied, the work completed producing a very good looking lawn. Not this year. The visits are less frequent. To date the only scheduled visits were in January, May and June. They seriously over scarified the lawn in May and it has not recovered. Even though they visited again in June and it was clear that the lawn was in distress, no remedial action was taken. I have been paying an increased monthly charge only for them to effectively destroy the lawn. I have now stopped using this service.

After been using them for about seven years ,the standard of operatives.sent see to be always trying to get to have extras.
The when I cancelled further treatments was told I owe £15 from May 2024 ??

I used to be a Greenthumb customer only 3 years ago and was very happy with the service and value for money. About £30 each treatment 4 time a year. I remained loyal for many years.
I moved house and area and decided to use Greenthumb again for a smaller lawn. This now costs £31.00 monthly direct debit for 5 treatments a year.
I can’t complain with the service but I feel the fees are now quite expensive and not good value for money.
The website is not obvious how to cancel your contract.

We are long standing customers of green thumb and we look forward to treatment applied by Dean a friendly and helpful chap who’s advice is well appreciated by my green fingered Wife and I. It’s always a pleasure to see him. Many thanks Chris and Dave Cass .

I cant give it less than zero. I would stay away. I had this person come in for the alleged window cleaning. He was supposed to have 10 windows and two large 2 meter windows in the conservatory. He was in and out less than 40 minutes. I have enclosed some of the pictures.. Dont waste your time with these guys. The windows are still dirty.. If I could attach some pictures, you can see how bad the job was carried out. However, they were prompt to send me the invoice. I will stay away from them.

Green thumb are absolutely useless! Called them out 3 weeks ago, as have a problem with my lawn. Only to be told they don't know what the problem is.they are obviously not professionals at the job. They took photos and said they will go back and speak to their technical team and come back to me. Here i am still waiting, 3 weeks passed. What a joke! Certainly wont be contacting them ever again and would definitely not recommend them to anyone! What a disgrace of a company

Excellent service and advice from Luke Kelly who called this morning . It was his first visit to my lawn and hopefully he will return.
