In my opinion lightingoutlet.co.nz is deceptive in marketing their offerings. This is a Australian based online company with no New Zealand presence. I wanted to swap out / upgrade ceiling fans and was told initially that they do not accept returns. I asked about their published "the lighting outlet - fast shipping and 30 day returns" I was then told they would consider giving a "store credit" once they had received goods back at Australian site. (quote for this $700 dollars) I believe lighting outlet intentionally misleads, and would like others to avoid this. This experience reminds me of the importance of buying local for support and customer service- even though I thought I was doing this. Would not recommend them and suspect they have upset others when noting the Trustpilot ratings. (Albeit a bit late.)

Have been looking for Solar lights for garage and found these on the internet. They work really well, the sensor turns on as you approach as stated. everything that I wished for. Highly reccomend

BAD return policy!

As I didn't see the product in real. When it arrived it was not as I expected so I requested a return and they refused to give a refund.

Be careful before purchase!

I had been looking for 4 pendant lights for the hallway & finally found something pretty on the lighting outlet. The price was very good & they arrived quickly & well packed. They look great. Would absolutely purchase again. Thank you.

Have been enquiring about some of their solar lights. They dont even know their own stock or part numbers! Dodge!

Fraudulent website selling secondhand goods. Will not reply to straightforward questions and continue to send faulty products. Would give a half star review if I could, stay away.

Great product and fast delivery. No issues whatsoever with the product or my shopping experience.

I am in a back and forth with this establishment about swapping a $60 light fitting that came out of its box faulty and my electrician cannot install. I have bought many items from them without issue but this business model that they have adopted of trying to fob you off and refusing to exchange is as dodgy and unprofessional as can be. I will be taking this complaint to Fair Trade on principle.

(I posted negative feedback on there site and it was never shown). I bought a silver fan, I got a dark grey one that matches nothing in any bathroom so I contacted them (with photo's). long story short They called it "change of mind", it cost me $38 to send back and I got in store credit that expires in 6 months, also there white ones are $50 more expensive.

Website makes this out to be a company with stock in NZ, however everything was shipped from Australia, 6 weeks later nothing has arrived and customer services have washed their hands. Would never buy or recommend this company

Ordered and paid on the 1st June, as today the 25th, not contact regarding any delay or anything
Ignored my emails, had to call the number, lady was helpful but seems the internal communication is a problem, companies website states "fast delivery" 9 days to get a tracking number, parcel is being held with MPI for a specific reason

Website is misleading, they are not possessional.
I would give them a lower score if possible, 1 is far too generous

Rather $#@! In my hands and clap, happily, than use this pathetic excuse of a business

My experience with The Lighting Outlet NZ was terrible; my order shipped late and was not the correct order. I contacted them and they didn't apologize, refused to process a refund, refused to process a return (in fact, they said, in writing 'we don't offer returns or refunds for NZ customers'!). When they finally agreed to send the missing parts I'd paid for weeks before, it was held up. Still haven't received the parts. It's taken so long without getting what we ordered that I've had to buy a replacement unit locally. Just awful service.

They NEVER have accurate stock counts and are slack in communications. It took 12 days from time of order to then contacting us to say the light was out of stock.

Returns are non-existent and also exchanges are very, very difficult. Its a real pain to deal with this team.

🤬I have had terrible customer service from here, I ordered something on the 15th of May, it is now 15th June and still do not have my item. The item got recalled by them due to it being damaged in transit before even making it to me. Not once have they told me this nor has another one been shipped nor have they responded to my 3 emails regarding this item. We have now had to log a claim with our credit card company instead and logging a formal complaint with the Companies Office. BEWARE of this company.
