Writing a novel for the first time, with zero experience sure is a journey. I have finally managed to get mine to a place where I am genuinely proud of it, and almost can’t believe the difference from the first draft. I received a very comprehensive and insightful review. I found it both encouraging and yet also necessarily critical. I have a much better idea what I need to do to improve it and the main obstacles to overcome to help find representation.

I requested developmental editing for my novel, and the result was a comprehensive report that examined every aspect of the story, along with useful comments in the margins. The turnaround was quick—nearly two weeks—and very satisfying. The editor thoroughly read and analysed the novel, providing clear guidance on how to change and improve the story.

What made this process particularly helpful was the editor's precision, honesty, and kindness. While the process was meant to be more interactive, with clients having access to a portal to track the editing progress, technical issues prevented this feature. Despite that, I was so satisfied with the outcome that I overlooked this issue. I'm sure resolving it would make the process more engaging and exciting for writers.
