Poor Delivery
We had arranged for the delivery of a log store to our property. This was delivered on time, however we wanted the log store to be just at the side of the house, near the front door. This was fully accessible via a flat pathway and only a short distance, however the delivery driver refused and said they were unable to do this and left the logstore on the drive and drove off. The log store looks great but very disappointed with the delivery and how we were spoken to.

Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry you were unhappy with the delivery. It was lovely to speak with you subsequently, and we are pleased you are happy with your log store.
As discussed, the driver was unable to gain access to your drive and manoeuvred it as far as he could over the concrete. With your gravel drive, he could not push it any further, over the stones. He did knock on the door and speak to a gentleman to explain. Our driver offered to help carry it into position, however the gentleman was in a meeting so had to swiftly go and declined the help.
As stated on our website, the Log stores, because of their weight and size, are to be unloaded by the side of our vehicle. They are fantastic quality and heavy. One single person cannot lift them without dragging and causing damage.
We do state on our website that if you would like The Log Store taking anywhere else, to please call the office and obtain a quote. We will always go above and beyond and do our best. This wasn't requested. Where it is requested, we can then bring additional equipment or a second person to manoeuvre the log store into position.
We do also have an 'order comments' box for any additional information that the driver may need regarding delivery. There was no information added here. We do love any info placing in this box to help and make the deliveries go as smoothly as possible.
We are delighted the Log store is now in position and wishing you a very warm Autumn ahead.

We’re incredibly sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your recent delivery. On the day in question, we faced an exceptional and unforeseen challenge when our brand-new van we had hired, broke down en route.
Despite this setback, we worked tirelessly to ensure every delivery was completed, and we did call ahead to communicate delays as best we could. In nearly 20 years of delivering firewood, this was one of the trickiest days in terms of deliveries as we are so busy. We must ensure to get all our deliveries made otherwise it has a huge knock on effect throughout the week.
We’d also like to reassure you that all of our firewood is kiln dried in sealed kilns. As an organic product that can be hundreds of years old, it may occasionally have harmless signs of its natural history, but the intense kiln-drying process ensures that any living organisms would be eliminated, without question. We do have a no quibble exchange policy, and have tried calling you a few times (and left messages). We would be delighted to exchange the bag and if you could please call the office, we can organise that quickly.
We take immense pride in maintaining our five-star service and 827 positive reviews, and we’re genuinely sorry we didn’t meet our usual standards for you on this occasion. We hope we’ll have the chance to restore your confidence in us in the future.
