Amazing experience! Having wasted the last few years on date aps, my friend, who is already a client, recommended The Matchmaker UK. After coming out of a 20 year marriage modern dating was alien to me and a very daunting prospect. I came across The Matchmaker UK and after a lovely call with the MD Lara who calmed my worries and gave me the confidence to take the plunge. The whole process was seamless from completing the forms, ID verification etc. and I was kept updated with what was going on. I was introduced to several lovely gentleman, some led to dates and others didn't. I'm happy to say the I'm still in a relationship with my most recent match!. Lara and Michelle did a lot of research on me and we had long chats about my preferences on the services and I was very quickly matched to a very nice local lady.

If I could go lower I would. False promises and lies, lies, lies! I specifically said a match in London and then told a man in Manchester would move, that was considered a connection and he never intended to move. No refund, no remorse. I’m American and know customer service and not only is Lara a lier, don’t waste your money, their “team” has the worst customer service and extreme lack of communication. Since I’m in Marketing, happy to share these sentiments to my Tiktok and Social media followers so others won’t get SCAMMED! Out of 5 months I only went on 2 dates & she canceled my 6th without reimbursement, so that’s stealing!

Lara is a miracle worker ! After lots of failed dates and dipping my toe into internet dating - (even tinder!), i turned to the ‘Matchmaker UK’ and gosh… I tried to be optimistic and it paid off , after years of being a ‘single lady’ and resigning myself to a life of it, my life’s been turned around and I’ve been paired with the most perfect person. After being out of the game for a while I was nervous but had faith in the service and it paid off. We hit it off straight away and have seen each other quite a few times since and are now booking a weekend away together. Life is too short, find someone amazing to share it with, like I have !

A friend of mine recommended the matchmaker uk after they had spoken but ultimately decided not to proceed due to the expense.

My first discussion with Lara showed her to be understanding and reassuring about how matches are selected. It was my intention to join at the top level network option (£750) to get a flavour of what this service could offer before proceeding to upgrade my membership.

A couple of profiles were sent through a few days later but neither were my type. My matchmaker contact told me that they had a strict criteria for rejecting a match. When asked how many men they had on their books, she replied, without hesitation, “hundreds”. If this is the case, there can’t really be a problem with my rejecting two. Another profile was presented, and while the location of the match specified Manchester, he in fact, lived much further away which made the match unworkable.

I felt obliged to go on a date with the next chap they proposed, owing the the strict “acceptable rejection” criteria. We arranged to meet for a drink. While it was pleasant enough, and the chap was courteous, he was just not for me. The next day, my matchmaker contact emailed to enquire about the date. For what is presented as a concierge service a telephone call would have been helpful.

Please don’t use this service thinking there is a secret stash of handsome eligible men waiting to be matched whom you wouldn’t otherwise have access to.

Yes, contractually, the obligation of one introduction was fulfilled but it was hardly a stellar match.

Based on my experience, here’s my advice if you’re thinking of using this service. Go for the upper end of the network package as I did. You’ll get one introduction and that will give you a good sense of if this service is for you. You can always upgrade later and it might save you a tonne of money if it doesn’t work out as you’d hoped.

Only time, and the experience of other clients, will reveal which of us is “delusional”. It makes no difference to me what people choose to make of this review. It is my responsibility to share my experience so that others may make an informed decision. All being well, my disappointing experience will prove to be exceptional. I've met Lara right before opening her agency, and ever since she's been stellar with her service. I got to interact with her team a bit as well, and all's been nothing but a pleasure.

The cost can be a bit peppery but if you're serious about dating (and if you're a busy person with limited time), you're actually saving money by not wasting your time with loads of scams, catfishing and low-level dates on those usual dating apps.

The Matchmaker UK is a fantastic service, offering a truly personal service with quality introductions. The dates that I went on were great and I had many things in common with the women that I was introduced to. I would highly recommend using this boutique service if you're looking for that special someone.

I can and only praise & thank Lara and her wonderful team at The Matchmaker. Not only is Lara very professional and very approachable but Lara is an expert in what she does. Dating in the 21st century is not a very fun experience, it’s actually quite horrible, the dating apps and sites are no place for the faint hearted! Lara took all this pain away from me!
Lara really made a lot of effort for me and listened to what I was looking & hoping for. Lara gave me good and frank advice and searched high and low for me. After a few good possible introductions I think Lara hit the nail on the head! I believe I’ve found the one. Fingers cross, and watch this space :)
