I have always bought good quality shoes in the correct belief that they will last a lot longer than cheap shoes. I am correct. £400 Cheaney's and same for Oliver Sweeney and Lobb's. Bought the Cheaney's and Lobbs 45 years ago.
Over the years collected 22 pairs and all are in tip top condition and were repaired by the manufacturer them selves for soles / heels or just by a good old fashioned cobblers for heels only.Never a problem.
However I was wearing a pair of my custom hand made Sweeneys whilst visiting the UK from my retirement home in Malta and staying in Faversham. I lost the rear hear quarter rubber which got taken of in part at the escalators in Gatwick. I was in Faversham for 3 days and on first day went into timson in Tesco to have the heels replaced. I asked for a leather heel with quarter tip and to nailed according to what exists and would pay extra for as good repair.
A TOTAL disaster.
I had a phone call to say that they could not fix the heel to my shoes the way I wanted them and that the supposed expert cobbler would come in to fix them correctly as the current operator was from another branch.I went in on last day of my visit in the morning to see my shoes on the floor with the heel semi stuck on and was told the expert cobbler couldn't make it. So I told the cowboy who attempted the simple repair to remove what he had started, which entailed removing the oversize new heel part.
He said the heel would not stick.!!!!!! and that he couldn't hand nail. This was the experts job who didn't arrive. So as I was flying out that afternoon I had to buy a cheap pair from Tesco to get me back home. (Three day trip only need one pair of shoes but had an old pair of trainers in UK to wear for walks to hand).
This company are not professionals at what they do when it comes to top quality shoes, but are good at repairing cheap £20 to £50 shoes.
Yes...buy shoe cream, polish etc and 'Ladies' have your high heels repaired with them because they can't screw that simple operation up. I had no real apology from them at the store.
So I will never go to them again and have told all my friends to avoid them like the plague. Research a independent cobbler and use them and you wont be disappointed. No young kiddies here being entrusted with quality shoes.

Timsons at Eastfield in scarborough are a little expensive put very helpful staff.very friendly and ready to help.

I left my shoes for re heeling and picked up the following day,as i did not have a lot of time , great service and job done,

I went to Timsons for passport photos 2 American photos and 1 British photo. The lady was extremely knowledgeable in the different size requirements. She wasnt 100% sure with the way one of the children were fitting in the photo so she asked to redo it. She did not want to chance it. She gave us the photos we paid for plus uploaded photos onto a USB stick. She was very professional and displayed great customer service skills. I will defintely be back.

I always feel welcome when I visit TImsons. The staff are friendly and informative and never make me feel rushed even when I know they have so much work to do. I always leave with a smile.

Great service when I needed replacement watch strap which was not standard. R kindly offered to order one for me from supplier, rang me when it had arrived, fitted the strap and checked that it fitted me properly. Always get great service from my local Timsons from polite and helpful chap.

Best service on high street

Had my work shoes heeled before Christmas at the Stockport clock tower branch but one of them fell off last week - I was not happy!. I took the shoes back to be re-heeled and was rewarded with a complimentary re heeling as Jon in the shop was not happy either with the poor workmanship. Thank you for good customer service.

I visited the Abingdon town branch and was treated with respect and the customer advisor was very friendly and helpful!

Can't believe the service I've had with this company. I have a business and had some keys cut. Most didn't work. Had to get them recut elsewhere.
Sent my watch in last week, another store, as the analogue hands, in a digital watch with hands, were slow. Not to worry apparently he'll change all 4 batteries whilst I shop. Went back and he's fiddling away still. So, I went to my car and dropped bits off. Went back, still fiddling... won't be long. So, I go and get a coffee. Still not ready. I had to go and pick up my daughter so I said my father will pick it up later. He did and gave it to me the following day. As soon as I got it I put it on, set the hands then pushed the button to set the time... WHICH CAME OFF IN MY HAND!
I knew something wasn't right when I pushed it as it didn't feel the same as it did. I KNOW it was working when I sent it in.
So, I took it back in a couple of days later. I had the assurance it will be sorted and they would call me as the guy was off that day.
Two days later, no call! I called them. They said it would be ready Saturday morning, a week after it went in the first time. So I went in Saturday afternoon. He gave me my watch saying it's all ok. I went to set the time in front of him and... NOTHING!
I hate being without a watch. I'm £30 down on batteries, they've sent my watch off 'somewhere' for I have no idea how long. If it can't be repaired I'm £30 down on 'repairs' (haha) on a £50 watch (on offer) plus the cost of a replacement.
After TWO bad experiences from TWO desperate stores, they won't see my business again.

I really can't fault the service I've received from your Burseldon Southampton branch, professional, intelligent and consumer service second to none..well done Timsons.

My Experience with Timpson was simple great.
Such warm friendly staff.
My three piece suit came back in first class condition.
And was ready to be collected when I was told that it would be ready.
I have the pleasure in saying a big we'll done for excellent service that Timson kindly provided me with.

Just have to say our Winsford Brand of Timsons which is in Morrisons super market,have always given me great service with a smile ,they explain how long the repairs will take ,the prices are fair ,awaiting for the return this week of two alterations and dry cleaned .ask for Deno( nick name) hes great
