I have taken out a replacement contract with tonik
I chose to take out a replacement contract with tonik, having been with them for a few years. I have found their prices to be good and this year I was impressed to be able to sign up for a year to "Go Zero Carbon" which is an admirable aim for the company. Also, if required there is an option of a Free Boiler Service. I recommend tonik as being one of the smaller companies who give good value for supply of Electricity and Gas.
Excellent product, terrible service.
Tonik is good for providing eco-friendly electricity and gas at a competitive price. However customer service has been extremely poor. A direct debit was cancelled without explanation, then a payment was taken but not recorded on my bill, and it took over a month and several emails to sort this out.

Tonik is a tonic!
Have been using Tonik for gas and electric for the over two years. Really impressed with original tariffs, and renewed on equally impressive tariffs because the package is the best for me. I pay my set monthly Direct Debit, but any credit earns interest... how good is that? The customer service has been calm, kind and pragmatic... everything we need in today’s world.
For people who want a company with clean green credentials to match their own responsible energy use..... Highly recommended!

No problems at all until I wanted to change tariffs to a better rate then being offered by Tonik. I received no replies to repeated emails, on-line messages and telephone calls. I noted from Money Saving Expert's website that other users had experienced problems when trying to change tariff. Rather aggravating as for the last two months on my old tariff I had to continue paying at the old and higher rate. However, I have now renewed onto the better rate at the end of my previous term.
Great customer service
They have always been very helpful on the phone. Very reasonable prices and I really love the fact that its greener energy. Can't fault them really.

Tonik are new as providers to our household. It is now 12 months since I switched provider they are efficient and helpful.
Clearly price is important as a consumer and Tonik are competitive as far as I can find out. At this time I am staying with Tonik for my supply of both Gas and electricity

Worst experience among all Utility companies
I would avoid this Utility Company in the future. I had switched over to Tonik for both fuels. They sent a letter saying that the switch will happen on a particular date, however only switched one fuel. When I enquired I was told that the previous supplier rejected the switch , however I have email from the previous supplier that they never received the switch request. Incompetent customer service team. No return update on any problems in the switch process as with other suppliers. Never faced an issue with switching with any other supplier. Raised multiple complaints with them, no response to any of the complaint. No one in Tonik knows how the system works or what the previous person has done. Have to now contact the Energy Ombudsman. Would avoid them in the future.

Fuel and that is what they charged me for monthly by direct debit . Months later I received a very hefty bill from my previous supplier to, cut a long story short though I was paying tonic for gas and electric they had only swapped the gas over, they said it was an oversight on their part!!they did refund the electricity they had charged me but flatly refused to compensate me for the higher rate from my previous supplier
They do not respond to emails and if you ring them they will tell you that you are number 1 in the queue then after about 15 to 20 minutes cut you off.
Remarkably poor customer support
Remarkably poor customer support, very disorganized, very expensive. Avoid using them at all costs I'd say.
Still waiting to get clarity on my final moving out bill from them and getting threatening emails to pay my final bill at the same time! Very incompetent.
Satisfied customer
Satisfied customer. We have been with Tonik for the last 12 months and have just renewed with them. The new plan is still better value for money than the best one recommended by uSwitch. The website is easy to use as are the links from the monthly emails requesting customer readings of the gas and electricity used. Statements are easy to read and information is summarised succinctly. We haven't had any reasons to make queries or complaints so far.
