Avoid 'sponsored' websites that claim to review the best products truthfully
A search for ‘best bone conduction headphones 2023’ return a number of sites recommending products. I chose a product rated ‘top buy’ on one of these. top5-wirelessearbuds.com rated Melody Buds with an outstanding 9.8 rating, further sweetened by a ½ price ‘Holiday Season Sale’. What a con. The rubbish I got probably cost £4.95 rather than the £49.95 (supposedly ½ the usual) I paid. The item that was shipped in a plastic mobile case bag (the website has photos of ‘happy customers’ opening a nice box with the headphones. But those boxes have a different brand name. What a scam.) was nothing like shown on the website, and it looked and sounded total rubbish. The ‘powerful bass’ advertised is non existent and regardless of the music type and equalizer settings, sounds thin and tinny.
When I tried to return it, despite the promise of a ‘100% Money Back Guarantee’ I was first offered 25% off to keep it (or gift the rubbish to someone!) and when I refused this, was given an address in China to return! (despite being shipped from a UK location – I know this because my home address did not include the country). So much for the advertised ‘Hassle Free Returns’

I have already written a review for voltecoo.com on TrustPilot. People around the world have all consistently given them 1 star (because you cannot give any lower) and all had very bad experiences with every product. So why is top5-wirelessearbuds.com, which claims to be product ‘experts’ based in Spain giving crap like this their highest rating? The ‘Sponsored’ tag explains this. It means the site (and content) is being paid for – most probably by the people who produce this rubbish. So top5-wirelessearbuds.com becomes a scam website as well. Its a pity that false web advertising (which can be so convincingly created in about 30 minutes by a web designer) like this cannot be legally stopped.
