My experience of the Ultimate Travel Writing Course was truly Inspiring. Rich in that it offers in depth training not only in the the art of writing for different media forms, but also in the business of becoming a becoming a freelance travel writer with tips from so many professionals so that when you graduate you are totally prepared to take off! And, all along the way, there is mentoring which I found to be invaluable. Thank you!

I enjoyed the course even though it took me longer than expected to graduate. There was a lot of hard work and I was still learning right up until the last minute.

This is the second Travel Writing course I have attended. After completing the first course I was left feeling inadequate and despondent. MJA restored faith in my ability to write through encouragement, constructive feedback and informative tutorials. I have learnt a great deal about the various facets required to be a successful Travel Writer, from pitching to editors to Fact & Breakout Boxes and writing a travel book. I would recommend this course to anyone who has aspirations to be a Travel Writer, or for that matter, anyone who just enjoys writing.

Really enjoyed learning about the industry and practicing the art of travel journalism. It’s not an easy course but it’s well constructed and valuable.

I felt in very good hands during this course from the very first time I contacted them. They understand the needs of their students and genuinely want you to succeed. My tutor exceeded my expectations in all ways: supportive, constructive, always interested and encouraging. The course builds on the craft in a practical way so you can see the new layers of knowledge you have acquired being incorporated into each new module. I have been writing a blog for a number of years and have found the Morris Journalism Academy Travel Journalism course an excellent path of study. It has definitely improved my writing. It has also taught me how to approach potential outlets for publication and business savvy practice. The course unfolded many of the mysteries of freelancing. My tutor is approachable and gives excellent feedback. I highly recommend the course to anyone wanting to get more from their writing, or take it to the next level.

Before the pandemic lockdown I had trouble writing in a birthday card. Now I can write a full travel article! Thanks Daniel and team for the great lessons, encouragement and feedback. Along with gaining an insight into the world of travel journalism, I'm now confident with structuring a story and staying on track.

I started writing my travel diaries on Word documents as we moved around overseas on holiday. I would include the photos from each day also and email the results to my friends and work colleagues. When I returned from a trip to New York and Boston, my work colleagues had bound the stories into a nice book with front and rear cover photos taken from the trip. It looked amazing so I looked to take it to the next step and get some form of study to improve my writing skills. I found the Diploma of Travel Journalism at Morris on line and absolutely loved the course. I finished it well before the allotted time, such was the energy and passion I had for the content. My tutor suggested that perhaps writing a blog may be my strength as opposed to articles for submission to peers and magazines. I have now had my blog for nearly 4 x years and just had it upgraded due to producing so much content. I don't write about just travel, but reviews of films/books/concerts, footy stories, biographical pieces and more. I'm now in a position to have sponsors and invite contributors. Thank you Morris Journalism Academy for giving me the confidence to forge ahead with isowilson.com.
