I initially approached Anglian for my new windows. However, although they were quick to quote, I found it hard to get responses to my further queries. I then went to Ultralux Windows as they are my local supplier.
The pricing and any queries were dealt with promptly. The new windows arrived on time and were installed by Ray and Mark whom I found very competent, knowledgeable, helpful and tidy. They have a huge experience and have done this for years.
I find the windows of good quality and I am happy with the completed job.
Had my patio door replaced. Contacted Ultralux and Alan (owner) came round promptly.Was very knowledgeable about the product and proceeded with them.Glad I did, as 4 weeks later two of his installers (Ray and Mark) arrived on time on the date arranged to fit my door. Very impressed with both the quality of a product and the installation carried out and would highly recommend this company in my experience
I have just had the windows replaced and I received excellent service. The bay windows look very good. I would recommend them.
The new windows are cold and draughty. Openers are not in the right places. The door does not shut if not slammed. Ultralux refuse to help. We are very unhappy.
Very good service and really nice people. Worked quickly and cleanly and the price was reasonable for the job. Some issues with incorrect parts which led to delays but otherwise a great job.
No problem with workmanship, just a major problem with the owner if you query anything after work completed. Overly nice to get the business but complete opposite if you have any outstanding queries.
A very disappointing experience. We had a conservatory roof replaced, we agreed a three part roof with the central panel in glass. We got an ordinary ceiling with a window. We would ha e lived with this but the window fell out, smashing my olive tree, cutting my hand and breaking tiles on the patio. We were lucky it could have been so much worse an hour earlier our daughter with her new born baby sat where the window landed. We had to get the window boarded up as this all happened on a Sunday. Of course it poured with rain and the conservatory was soaked causing the floor to lift. The mess was quickly and efficiently clear and the window replaced- with the wrong window as they had ordered the wrong size. Eventually it was replaced.
A safety check, replacement floor and compensation for the cost of boarding up were all promised- none of which have materialised. They are now not responding to e-mail or returning calls. All this started back in April. I am really disappointed and feel I have been taken advantage of as they saw an older female customer and I just haven’t been taken seriously. £7500 wasted!
I reported a faulty exterior door back in October. Nothing was done about it then. After the business reopened earlier this year, there was no follow up. I had to go to see them again. I was told by the owner that he was going to have a look at the door on the following morning (despite the pics being sent previously as he asked). He never turned up and never called with the explanation why. No respect to someone‘s time at all.
I went to the shop again, no apology nor explanation given but he went with me at that point to look at the door. He saw how badly damaged it was and said he was going to contact the manufacturer and most likely get a replacement. He said that he would have my previous email from October and he would forward this to the manufacturer (he told me back in October that he’d done it). Few days later I forwarded my old email to him anyway. Heard nothing back so went to the shop. The owner seemed to be annoyed with me that I was asking for a follow up. I found out that he only forwarded my 2nd email so he clearly did not (bother to) find my original message. Again, if he cared about his customers, why didn’t he call me and asked to resend the email?
I sent another email asking to update me about the progress of my case - heard nothing back.
It’s been 9 months since I raised the issue and I’m still waiting.. Unfortunately there is number of people I know in the local area and they had a similar bad experience with this shop. It’s not just about a poor customer service. It’s also about the shop breaching their own contract as the door is still under warranty.
It’s disappointing to learn that the local business has got so little respect to their local customers.
Indescribably rude. I genuinely don't understand how such a place can function as a viable business.
Ignore your emails, and whilst product is under guarantee can be bothered to sort out.
Had 5 multi-unit windows installed by Ultralux based in Whitton, Twickenham. Due to take one day, the installation took 38 days. The windows in the bathroom did not fit their new frames so new ones had to be manufactured. Irreplacable tiles in the kitchen were broken. Windows in the study did not fit the new frames at all so had to be boarded up while new windows were made. In the end the new window frames in the study and bathroom had to be taken out and swapped around.
COMPLETE FIASCO!
No discount offered on bill except for the broken tiles.
3 weeks later . . .
We understand the new installation manager who supervised our work has now been fired and small compensation has been paid to us. The activities of the installation manager do not explain all our complaints but the windows themselves, now that they are properly installed, seem fine.
So we are therefore raising our rating of Ultralux from 1 to 3 stars.
