Same Experience here ! Automatic renewal of annual membership purchased before pandemic with NO OPTION to cancel even the same day credit card is charged . This is robbing !!! Urbansitter should refund back the renewal fee if claimed within the same day or week .

I definitely would recommend using this site because I’ve found great babysitters who were good fun smart college or grad students in my area.

Absolute scam for sitters
Absolute scam for sitters. They have you put in all your information before even being able to see that a job is no longer available, and then they require you to pay money to apply to current jobs *after* they've already collected your info. Terrible site and dishonest.

While we understand that some sitters may opt out, we whole-heartedly believe that requiring all sitters to be background checked is an important component in building the most trusted and reliable childcare service available today. I lost access to UrbanSitter when I had to travel for a family emergency because the platform does not work outside of the continental United States. I reached out and received a prompt response from Brittney, who both partially refunded my membership fee for the year and came up with a creative idea to help me out while I was traveling.

Required me to sign up for a resulting…
Required me to sign up for a resulting monthly charge to use a gift card I had received. I already had the sitter so in order to cash out the gift card, I had to sign up ($20) my sitter had to sign up ($20) then pass a back ground check ($10) then they never sent me a receipt for the monthly charges. They changed the name of the charge so it looked different different months, I.e. they intentionally changed the name to get around you noticing the recurring charge. I discovered The charge and politely asked for a refund as I was only using the service to cash in a gift card. They profited $50 from me just to use my gift card. They essentially said, sucks to be you we are keeping all this money that we never provided you with a receipt for or notified you was being taken out of your account under different names each month.
Very deceptive business practices. Do not use this service. Sitter City is WAY better.

Illegal of course... but they have a very aggressive approach and don't care unless warned to get sued.
Also, forget about contacting any sitters unless you pay them high premium at the end of jumping through their search hoops... it is all a greedy system that will bite you and never let go (-;

Very early in my experience with UrbanSitter, but I ran into a technical issue that was solved accurately and timely by the customer support agent. The agent did not "pass me off" or attempt to rush me along to a quick resolution. She answered each email I had with empathy and thoughtful attempts to fix the issues. No problems with the platform yet, and hoping I don't.
