sad to say it but i ran out of patience with them, i use to go with my wife but last time i went alone and it was more terrible than usual. you have to wait for so long in the line and when finally it's your turn the customer service's acts like if they can't keep up with their job. Disgusting experience.

Long line ups... Long wait times... Then horrible customer service... Not quite sure how they stay in buisness!!!

VBCE brochure says cash transaction is allowed, however when you go in store to do transaction, the clerk wants you to use cashless payment. When you bring up the VBCE brochure says cash transaction is allowed, the clerk tries to argue with you. When you call the Vancouver branch speaking to CEO, Tony Ma, Kevin Ma, etc, they will tell you the same thing "no cash" and give no reason why their brochure says "cash" allowed.
False advertising, lack of integrity.
Never do business again.

They provide currency exchange when you need it.

Warning. Warning. Warning. Do not take your gold coins to this outlet. I had brand new, never touched gold coins from the bank and they said there were minor flaws. In other words damaged. A total scam to keep more money in their pocket.

Reasonable rates. Expect a huge line up though, however it does go quite quickly.

I have been a satisfied VBCE client for several years since I had the recommendation of a respected business friend. I travel every fall to Mexico for the winter and stock up on pesos before I leave. I've always been happy with the service I've received but this time VBCE went truly 'beyond' for me. Although I got to the South Granville branch pretty early, another customer had beat me to all the large denomination Peso notes. I really didn't want to carry a lot of bulk with me on the plane so my friend suggested I call the Downtown office to see if they could trade in some of my 500's for 1000's. I got a very pleasant person on the phone and she recommended I head there right away. Because it was just a matter of minutes since I'd purchased them, they would do whatever they could to help me out. I received a warm welcome from IRAM and after a quick check with her supervisor, she was able to exchange all my small bills for large ones. She couldn't have been any more warm, understanding and professional. Her service was impeccable and her demeanor so helpful! It's not often I run across such fabulous customer service so asked for her name so that I could tell VBCE how appreciative I am and what a great employee they have. VBCE really went above and beyond for me and I am grateful.

I've been a loyal customer of VBCE for several years and have always had good rates (CAD to USD) and it's a plus that their service is great. I particularly want to compliment ALLAN TSANG, a gentleman who provided my USD in the form of a bank draft (at no charge) to ensure I could safely walk to the nearby CIBC to deposit the funds -- he was knowledgeable & extremely pleasant throughout the process. Just wanted to thank Chris for his excellent customer service and making me feel valued! He tirelessly explained the information in detail throughout the exchange process. He then proactively contacted me at every important juncture. Chris, together with Sunny at the Richmond office, even helped me expedite the draft drop-off step, which was above and beyond my expectation. Most importantly, as a financial service consumer, Chris was my wingman on that task so I could focus on work etc.

So for at least 5 years I am using their physical locations and around 2 or more the online version. Never had a problem, never received better one. I am not stopping recommending it to friends and families.

Good rates, terrible customer service.
Dealing with their customer service was one of the worst experience ever.
I signed up with their online service but, due to the unfavorable performance of the stocks market, I never got a chance to use it.
A year later I then reached out to the customer service to make some adjustments to my online account to finally use the service but the representative literally said “you wasted our time setting up your account” and refused to help.

I got recommended from my colleagues that VBCE online is convenient and the exchange rate is good. It is true!
Especially thanks Dawn Hovgaard, online specialist, she is very professional and friendly. I was so lucky to have her pick up the phone. She even emailed me with the recommended timeline for my case and it was very helpful.
Overall, the whole process to open an account and start a transfer is very smooth. Very great experience!

Low quality staff with absolute garbage communication skills . DON'T do biz there !

I chose VBCE because their rates were the most competitive I could find for USD to CAD. Pleasantly surprised by how easy it’s been to convert into CAD whenever needed. Also, any time I’ve had to contact them their customer service has been outstanding. Better rates and better service than I’ve ever gotten from my typical bog bank experience. I’d gladly recommend them to anyone needing FX services!

With a child starting at a US university in the fall, I needed an efficient FX mechanism to buy US$. The online account service offerd by VBCE has been flawless. It is straightforward and easy to use, best rates in town and helpful staff to get you started.

It seems that young employees don't like helping customers. In general, young employees working at VBCE prefer talking to each other rather than focusing on customers' needs.

I use VBCE when I have international travel and cross border transfer needs and I find their customer service excellent. I was introduced to them by my bank who said they had the best rates which I confirmed after doing some research. I like having the locations nearby so I can walk in and speak to someone directly about my needs.
