If you care about your loved ones don’t put them in voyage care homes
If you care about your loved ones do not put them into a voyage care home, the company is corrupt. Your loved one will sit in a chair or lay in bed day in day out with very little communication or stimulation. They never go out, they never get choices/input to do with anything. ITS NOT CARE ITS A BUSINESS, all they care about is money they get 1-1 funding for pws they won’t get 1-1 as they never have enough staff. It’s a 1 out 1 in set up, the minute a resident dies they’re emptying their room for another in the same week. Staff are not supported at all, they’re there because they’ve got to be to afford their bills. The care and compassion is gone and that is thanks to the awful management that get rid of good staff and pass around the staff that do wrong from one home to the next. They don’t care if the job is affecting your mental health their answer would be ‘leave’. Management make all the decisions but they don’t even know the residents as they’re never in service. They lock away food from residents and restrict their intake of food and drink. They constantly forge documents and run on unsafe numbers or have agency(strangers) come in to ‘care’ for them. They have no quality of life in these homes and I have been around many in the last 8 years.
Gave them 1star because I have too
Gave them 1star because I have too. Voyage is a business not a caring company. My son as lived ar Highfield Farm Barnsley a residential home with them for 20yrs and last week we got a phone call to say they are closing it down with no thought for the residents who have lived together as a family all those years it's heartbreaking. The carers are kind, caring lovely people but as stated in other posts Voyage higher management just don't care or help people actually working in there homes. My son is now waiting for CHC to find him a home & what's making it worse is higher management took it on themselves to tell him . He doesn't understand everything they said but keeps saying "I'm going" Staff & families are devastated. They are a heartless company who don't care only about profits for shareholders.
one star is too much.
one star is too much.
My daughter is at Voyage Care and under 3 safeguarding reviews this year.
A lack of consistent management over 2 years has seen it go from outstanding to poor and Voyage Care allowed that to happen leaving residents and staff poorly unsupported
Avoid the management are bullies…
Avoid the management are bullies mentally,
The staff do as these please , staff are constantly leaving due to the way they get treated , the PWS are like caged animals they aren’t the priority, the staffing levels are low , very clicky staff, there is no team playing unless your in the click ! Overall the worst place I’ve ever worked ! I actually feel for the service users as they aren’t the priority and the management/staff are just there to get their wage !

Absolutely disgusting and disreputable company .. if you can even call it that!!! My brother who has downsyndrome went from a happy go lucky, loving, funny and caring chap, has in 5 years, turned into a depressed, physically and mentally unwell man who is a shell of his former self !!!! Fast food and high spending, all out of his budget, no 1-1 hours despite paying for it! Excuse after excuse, from staff and "management". Never any progress with anything we have flagged MULTIPLE times. Medication never given correctly or if ever! This has most recently resulted in double ear infections with sore cracked and bleeding ears!!! Money being spent and fiddled with by staff. The list goes on. I am currently looking into this and bringing it to the papers and news. Enough is enough. This company needs tearing down !!! I will never ever EVER recommend this disgusting and untrustworthy "care" firm. Because lets be honest... they care for no one but themselves!!!!!
Please avoid voyage care at all cost
I am currently living at one of voyage cares supported living placements in dover and my experience isn't too good at all when I first moved into this place I was a calm positive humble person and now 3 year's later I am deeply depressed almost every day and at times very negative and considering my diagnosis is high functioning autism and ADHD GLD social anxiety and since living under voyage care I've been diagnosed with depression they do not facilitate routine and structure witch as a autistic person my life is run on routine and structure but us service users we are just items voyage care are making money on holding in my opinion if I never lived in place and lived by myself out in the community with no support my wellbeing would not be as bad as it is now and I would have more routine and structure.
I could go more in depth with this review on my experiences and the failings of voyage care but I can't as it will make my life a living hell but I will say if your thinking of getting supported by voyage care don't or your thinking of putting a family member under voyage care please rethink and go somewhere else cause voyage care do not care

I have seen Voyage Care grow over the years and as a company, they are one of the best in the country. The pay is good and they provide many benefits and support services for staff. The company always has the best interests of the P.W.S at heart. It strives for improvement and will enable staff to better themselves at any given opportunity. Anyone reviewing Voyage Care must remember that voyage has many services and they should each be given a review of their own. I am proud to represent the company as I have done so for 12 years and will continue to do so for many more. Thank you Voyage for giving me so many opportunities.
Avoid at all costs!
Avoid at all costs!! Family member was in supported living for 3 years. No team leader for 2 years so staff doing what they want. Only 2 decent staff in last 2 years. Often no 1-1 hours as not enough staff. My family member was able to convey what was going on. I dread to think what goes on for the people who Don't have the capacity to speak for themselves.
AVOID at all costs!
AVOID at all costs!! Awful management, no communication. Literally left us with no cover or communication about why. (I work full time). Social services don’t use them which says a lot. Please, please do not put your family through this terrible company experience!

The management at 66 dudley street is a selfish, lazy and a bully. Her name is Jeana bircher. She thinks she owes the place but she runs the place even that she cant do. She cant spell, she spends most of her time smoking or eating. She gets staff to do her work. She is a control freak and very jealous type of a pserson. She never interacts with the clients who are hard to handle, she cant do medication. She is a bully, she is scared of a challenging with staff who knows there job. She turns clients against the own parents and families. She thinks new staff comes and old staff are nothing. She turns staff against each other and lie about things. She never forward statements which are positive to hr and she makes staff write statements infront of her so you shall write what she wants you to. Jeana will swear and talk about other managements and she will never keep anything private and confidential. She is very good gossiping about staff. 66 dudley street, is nice but management is awful. She needs to go out of that place. She doesnt care about clients feelings, they have autism, they get used to staff and then because jeana is jealous she gets rid of them or force them to resign. So many good staff have resigned from that place because of her. She makes hr and other management stupid. God is looking down she will fall 1 day.

Would definitely never recommend to use for care of anyone with asd,Had issues with staff falling asleep on shift to sitting on there phones. One day let my son shave himself for the first time with no supervision and he cut his face 6 times.
Finally came to a head at a property viewing with senior management in attendance.Property not suitable and when told them so informed either take the place or services will be terminated.Never once in 2 years have they attempted to employ anyone to be his carers

I work here and the management is a joke.
I have been working for this company voyagecare for a few months now and let me tell you this company’s management in my area are so clueless I don’t even know where to begin. We are always short of staff and some residents end up not being attended to. And this on a regular basis. They are always calling you on your day off to cover for others as if you have got no life. The staff are always having cigarettes break leaving people we care for unattended which is dangerous coz some have epilepsy and need 24/7 watch. The home manager is most of the time in their office, they don’t even do a round to see who is there on the shift and greet them as well as the people they are attending to! It’s awful.

Avoid this company like the plague
Avoid this company like the plague. I’ve given a one star because zero wasn’t available. I worked for this company for ten years, long before voyage took over and that’s when it went down hill. Voyage are a business. This company has nothing to do with care, it’s all about profit. They will abuse their staff, have no consideration for the welfare of its staff or clients, and if you dare to complain or raise a grievance, or say anything bad about the company they will be all over you like a rash and bully you until you feel you have to leave. They have no moral code or standard of ethics, and any complaints you do make, especially if they’re valid, will be ignored and brushed under the carpet and you will then be victimised. There is no communication, management have no idea what they’re doing and promise you the earth but fail to deliver every single time. My experience is as both a staff member and a family member of a client. I wouldn’t let this company look after my dog, let alone anyone else. And that’s not the staffs fault, the care staff on the operational levels are dedicated, hard working and reliable, being beaten into the ground by the company, over worked and underpaid and constantly hounded. Packages are chronically understaffed, the turnover of staff is huge.
Would not recommend this company to anyone, from either point of view.
Edit- I should make clear this is the voyage specialist healthcare (north east) division.

Had a lovely experience at our weekly car boot sale with meeting one of your carers and clients, had a lovely chat with the gentleman called Stephen and his carers name was Laura she was so good with him going around the stalls picking out things to help him see what’s for sale having a chat with everyone and her general manner with him was so very heart warming and made a very lasting impacted on us which is why we wanted to let someone know how wonderful it is to see such lovely care and to know the support is out their for people who need it. We asked a lot of questions to find out what company to go to if we were to ever need to use your services as Laura really represents you well. Hope they come again as they really brightened our day up.

My introduction to working in Care was…
My introduction to working in Care was a small, family run business, based in Gloucester and it employed around 100 staff. After six quite happy years in that company I was dismayed when it was sold in 2019 to Voyage Care. I spent the next two and a half years working for what is a large, amorphous, corporate business, claiming to be a “Care Company” when, in reality, it’s an organisation that’s concerned only with money and trying to maintain its own image and reputation. The managers, even at the most junior grade, are so detached from the actual delivery of care that they know next to nothing about the service users they make money from. Nor do they interact with, communicate positively with or show any appreciation for the staff who support the clients.
With a heavy shortage of staff being the norm, I was frequently working 350 hours a month and never once did a manager express a word of thanks, either to myself or any fellow co-worker for the time, commitment and devotion to duty clearly demonstrated. But, something that’s been experienced and witnessed by many, is that if you make the slightest error, there are managers who will instantly pounce upon the issue and who seem to take a kind of spiteful, vindictive delight in having the opportunity to berate and humiliate that otherwise hard-working and diligent member of staff, regardless of how minor and trivial the wrong doing.
When Voyage buys out a smaller company and, with the legal obligation it has to to do so, takes on the staff who were part of it, they do their upmost to make life as unpleasant and insufferable for those individuals. We had around 10 care settings, each with its own team leader, most of whom had happily worked in their respective roles for years. Within less than 12 months of Voyage taking over all but one of those team leaders had resigned in disgust at how they were treated under Voyage.
I began my first full-time job in 1972; that’s 50 years ago. In that half-century I’ve worked for quite a few small businesses; I’ve also worked for some huge, blue chip companies like IBM, Microsoft, RBS and several well known insurance companies. In my honest opinion Voyage Care is the most disgraceful organisation I’ve ever had the misfortune to be in any way associated with. They treat the very staff they rely heavily upon with absolute contempt and are simply too large a company to work efficiently and effectively as a “care” company. They spend ridiculous sums of money trying to implement certain examples of ostensibly slick technology in a pathetic attempt to look like they know what they’re doing and then place the maintenance of that technology in the hands of office-based staff who are neither intelligent enough or sufficiently trained in that technology to have a clue about what they’re doing. The result is a shambolic mess, day after day, where support workers spend disproportionate amounts of time phoning office staff in desperate attempts to get basic office admin issues rectified. It’s a nightmare.
Thought for the day:-
DON’T WORK FOR VOYAGE CARE!!!!

Voyage care Dudley
Know someone who works for Voyage care, and they are a very supportive company who see potential and support staff to progress. They have worked for many companies within care and Voyage is the best one. They had some issues with previous management but HR department supported well. Nice to see people working in a company who put people first, I know the pay is not great but making a difference in someone's life is something you cannot put a value on. Particularly at the Dudley ABI service

Recent management are bully’s if they don’t like you or you know to much you are gone. Heaven forbid you should raise concerns or report something you’ll be out the door. If you don’t want to progress in life voyage care is the company to work for
