Con artists

Sold a car without clearly checking its condition. I bought a car from here and it so many issues and I spent 800 and counting fixing the issues and that’s with some DIY form myself as I used to be a mechanic. Air con was very weak and hot, pollen filter as rock hard with dirt, I’m not sure how this wasn’t checked before selling, aircon fuse broke so aircon only working on dial 4. Leak in the boot cost me 200, anti roll bar links 200. Have some respect for your costumers instead of treating them like this. Finance company be very aware are awful and going through financial ombudsman about this.

Positive Car Buying Experience

We bought a car from this dealer and are very pleased with it. We got a fair price for our old car and the new car was also a good price. When we had a small issue it was dealt with professionally and promptly.

Brilliant customer service

Brilliant customer service, i recently bought a car here. Everyone has been kind and hospitable. When i bought the car they’ve put 2 new tyres and brakes. When a problem come up with the car, they kindly repaired it straight away. Since then the car has been amazing. Really happy with my experience here with wavertree cars. Would 100% recommend

Brilliant customer service

Dishonest from the start

Dishonest from the start,

Bought the car in March, had problems from day one, granted they fixed one or two of these things but as more issues kept coming this dealership just became increasingly difficult, they asked me to bring the car in and they’ll fix everything, give me a courtesy car and even drop my car back off, only to be told when I get there ( 3 hour drive) that it “looks” like a battery issue and to go and get it checked, 6 hours of driving and a good amount of fuel wasted for nothing, I was also told that the car was serviced when I bought it which iv found due to my own recent service was a complete lie.

Honestly just save your time and money and go to an actual dealership that doesn’t try and cut every corner possible and has honest salesmen,

I’d also strongly advise not using their recommended finance company too, they too will do as little as possible to help you then ultimately tell you they’re not doing a thing

Don’t trust them at all !!!

Extremely Disappointing and Misleading - Don’t trust them at all !!!!!!

I bought my BMW from Wavertree Car Centre about four months ago, and this has turned out to be one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a dealership. When I purchased the car, they confidently told me it had been properly maintained and serviced by Williams BMW, with full service history. I trusted them, and because of that, I paid the full price they asked for without any discount.

Just a week after buying the car, it started making strange noises. When I took it back under warranty, their attitude was terrible. They wouldn’t answer my calls, gave no proper response, and it took them more than 7 days just to look at and fix the issue.

The biggest problem came when I took the car to an official BMW showroom for servicing. BMW confirmed that this car has never been serviced with them at all, which completely goes against what Wavertree Car Centre told me.

When I called the dealership back to question this, they denied ever saying the car had BMW service history. I then asked them to provide the service history, and they sent me some invoices — which looked completely fake. The invoices had no details: no mileage, no proper description of the work done, nothing. Anyone looking at those papers can clearly see they are not genuine service records.

This whole experience has been shocking and extremely disappointing. They give false information, deny their own words, and provide meaningless invoices to cover up the truth.

Please be very careful — do NOT trust them at all.

Not impressed with after sales service

Not impressed with after sales service! Car bought on Thursday...won't start, keep getting fobbed off because I've asked for a refund ...apparently there is no manager there to speak to!!

So I paid for an independent inspection from AA 17 faults located on report..they still refuse to allow me to reject the car under the Consumer Rights Act 2015!! 2 of faults relate to the breaks can't even drive the car .... steer clear of these!

I bought a car from this company in…

I bought a car from this company in July 2022 and had issues from day one. It was constantly back and forth being repaired then he blocked me in September 2023. Recently Iv had even worse issues so I took it to another mechanics for a radiator repair who has told me the car had previously been a write off and rebuilt very badly with second hand parts. I am currently taking legal action against Chris Roper for putting my life in danger. DO NOT buy off this company.

Horrible experience! Please read before purchasing a vehicle.

I purchased a car from this dealership and encountered serious issues from the day of delivery, including juddering between gears. I reported the fault immediately, but the problem persisted and ultimately required extensive gearbox and clutch repairs, costing approximately £4,000.

I was forced to open a formal complaint with the finance company, as the vehicle became unsafe to drive. Upon further investigation, I discovered that several others had experienced similar issues with this dealership. An independent legal report confirmed multiple faults, including significant gearbox problems.

What I find most concerning is that, once the vehicle was finally returned, the dealership promptly relisted it for sale—despite the mechanic’s report stating the repairs required a minimum of a week’s labour, including a full gearbox strip and the replacement of the official mechatronic part.

To add to the frustration, I received a £52 fine from Merseyflow related to my part-exchange vehicle, which the dealership failed to register correctly. Despite assurances that they would pay the fine, I had to appeal it myself.

The aftercare has been extremely disappointing—calls are rarely answered, staff are often “on a break,” and on one occasion, a salesman even hung up on me. It’s as if once you have purchased a vehicle off them they don’t want to know about the issues their vehicles caused for genuine customers. Based on my experience, I strongly urge potential buyers to be very cautious before trusting to buy the “high standard” vehicles they claim to sell.
I have NEVER experienced customer service that has been so poor, I have also reported to trading standards as have many others!
Thankfully I had amazing support from the finance company who took my case seriously, they even compensated me for the stress and inconvenience this dealership/car caused me, as I was left with no car for nearly 8 weeks.

Avoid at all costs

Make sure the car you're buying has absolutely no faults — not even small ones you might miss on a test drive.

I bought my Audi from this garage over a year ago, and I’m still shocked at how poorly I was treated and how much money I lost.

From day one, there were serious issues: the seat frames were coming away from the seats, and a major parking sensor fault became obvious on the drive home — which, by the way, was over 3 hours away.

The garage originally told me they’d reimburse me if I got the seats fixed myself. They then backtracked and insisted I bring the car back up so they could repair it. I agreed, and they kept the car for 2 weeks. The result? They didn’t fix the sensors, and instead jammed two industrial bolts through the hard plastic seat frames, which broke through on the way home — leaving gaping holes and completely devaluing my car.

To make matters worse, the loan car they gave me was a rust bucket that didn’t even have a rear-view mirror.

They refused to take the car back, refused to properly repair it, and to this day I still deal with faulty parking sensors — making the car unfit for purpose.

After over 6 months of back-and-forth, I was finally reimbursed for petrol and the seat repair. But the sensor fault remains unresolved.

Appalling customer service, broken promises, and zero accountability. Think twice before buying here.

Great choice of used cars..my MX5 was just there waiting for me…had a test drive..very happy …lots of good advice but no hard pressure sales tactics from Andy and all staff are pleasant and informative. No hassle with purchase and helpful with all documentation…easier than I thought it would be.👍

We waited ages for our car to be ready. Then on collection what they said would be done had not been done. They promised it would be sorted and they would call us within a couple of days, but no call came.

they Wanted the car back
We bought a porsche macan from them in july and within a week they called to say they wanted us to return the car saying it still had finance outstanding on it. I did my own hpi check which was clear and when i challenged them they said it was not that kind of finance and that i would not like these people knocking on my door. I refused to return the car as i did not trust them and what may have been done to my PX range rover. They then refused to send me service book/history and to top it all off they sold me a scam warranty (momentum warranties google them)

What a wonderful find

What a wonderful find. A car sales business that genuinely doesn’t feel like car sales. A lovely family vibe. Tea offered in a real cup! Andy has a lovely way that is customer centric and feels sincere.

We bought a car ( a very shiny X5) and feel confident that should we need help post sale Andy will be on hand! We’ve not always felt that buying a car. You can see why the reviews are as good as they are! Highly recommend.

The staff at Wavertree Car Sales were helpful from the first phone call right through to the sale.
Nothing was too much of a problem for them and they were honest and open about the car we bought allowing us lots of time to inspect and test drive it.
Would recommend to anyone considering using them.

First time buying a car from Wavertree car centre. Have bought many cars in the past and this has been by far the best experience! I couldn’t have got a better deal on my part exchange, Chris went above and beyond to make the experience stress free and even sorted my personalised plates & tax. I will definitely be back when it comes to my next car!

5 stars for Andy & Wavertree Car Centre

Never bought online before, so was a bit unsure. However, Andy put my mind at rest. He gave me a good deal on the car, which was fully checked over, serviced, full years MOT and valeted. He also arranged the transfer of ownership with DVLA and had the car delivered to me in Glasgow.

It took about ten days days from my initial call to the car's arrival but Andy phoned every few days to let me know how things were progressing, which was very reasuring.

When my car arrived, (thanks Aidan) I was delighted with my high-spec BMW. Again, many thanks to Andy and Aidan for making the experience so easy.
