I had an absolutely terrible experience with Webjet and will never use them again.
Because of their poor service and lack of accountability, my cousin and I missed our flight, which caused a huge amount of stress and disruption to our plans. What made it even worse was trying to get help—every time we contacted them, they just passed us back to the airline instead of taking any responsibility.
There was no clear support, no ownership of the issue, and no real effort to help resolve the situation. It felt like we were being pushed around with no one willing to actually assist.
Extremely disappointing experience. I strongly recommend booking directly with airlines instead of going through them.

My first flight I had arrived an hour before my flight departure time. This was my first time travelling with Webjet as I usually travel with Air New Zealand. Had I thought an hour before my departure time was plenty it apparently wasn’t, I got to check in at 6:23 check in closed at 6:45 and plane didn’t depart till 7. They proceeded to tell me that check in was closed they offered to change my flight for $100, I was not happy. I went straight over to Air New Zealand and told them my situation and they gave me a flight for half the price of what Webjet offered, I know for a fact that when I travel with Air New Zealand they go above and beyond when they can even without the flexi-change additions.
This will be my first and last time travelling with Webjet.
I can’t understand the negative reviews
We booked a short haul return flight in the EU with Webjet NZ. The journey was a two hour round trip. The airline cancelled our booking and rebooked us on an 18-hour (!) multi-stop journey, which would have meant we missed our connecting flights back home. We had no choice but to cancel the updated itinerary and book again from scratch. The offending airline refused a refund, but Webjet NZ got our money back. It arrived in my bank account yesterday.
This is second time this has happened - same airline, actually. You might have thought we wouldn’t fly with them again. But Webjet NZ got our money back last time, as well. I can’t understand the negative reviews of this company.
Not flexible flexirefund fare
In November, I booked a flight for my son from Palmy to Auckland and back for Christmas, from December 21- 26, 2025. For the return flight, I purchased a flexible refund fare in case he decides to stay an extra day. On the morning of his afternoon flight, we tried to change his flight to the following day. We were informed we couldnt do this as the beginning flight in the booking wasnt a flexirefund fare and he would have to purchase another fare at his own cost. Then they marked him as a no show for his flight even though we had been on the phone with customer service and relayed to them that making the flight was impossible due to circumstances hence the reason for wanting to change his flight til tomorrow.I asked why I was able to purchase a flexirefund fare for only one flight in the booking if it then was null and void if both tickets werent flexirefund? He had to purchase a ticket at $388 for his return flight home. Instead of paying $209 the difference betwewen the two as per their flexirefund facts state. Only after I sent a written complaint did Webjet offer to refund $179 the price of the original return fare which is the lower amount and not the option that should have been available to us as per their flexirefund fare terms. Customer service very unhelp. Website very hard to navigate in terms of online changing of flights etc for flexirefund fares.

Good experience with webjet booking domestic flights. Not a scam like people say, just takes at least 72 hours to get the flight confirmed with airline. Overall very happy with experience and would use again for low risk (not international or connecting) flights.
URGENT: NZ Representative Player Missed Flight to Fiji Due to Webjet Booking Failure
Terrible company. A complete scam! DO NOT USE. You won't get your flight ticket, you won't get your money back. This company needs to be taken to court AGAIN. They've already been taken before and lost, but clearly it wasn't enough. We booked flights for Fiji from NZ. We needed to land tonight to play in the Fiji cup touch tournament tomorrow but flights were not real. Missing out on thousands of dollars used to book accommodation, travel and the tournament fees. My 17yr old daughter got her first job to help pay for this event and this is what you've done. Absolutely disgusting!!!!!

I regret ever booking with Webjet and wish I’d read the countless negative reviews beforehand. This company is nothing short of fraudulent and should not be allowed to operate. I purchased a multi-city ticket and contacted their office several times to request a date change for my second flight. Despite my repeated efforts no assistance was provided. I informed their team that without support I would be forced to purchase a new ticket. They never informed Qantas that I wouldn’t be taking that leg, which led to me being marked as a no-show. Without any notice, Qantas cancelled every remaining flight on my itinerary less than 48 hours before my return home.
When I contacted Webjet, they claimed it was Qantas policy. When I contacted Qantas, they claimed that the changes could only be made by Webjet. Neither took responsibility, and neither offered any solution to get me home. I was willing to pay any “change fees” and “fare differences,” yet they still cancelled everything.
As a result, I am now $4,000 out of pocket, on top of the $4,200 I originally paid. Both companies demonstrated appalling customer service, zero accountability, and complete disregard for their customers. Save yourself the stress, frustration, and financial loss by avoiding using Webjet. And Qantas.

Paid but no booking!
I booked flights for 3 people, Queenstown to Auckland , NZ return,payment made and everything, got the confirmation,but after all that was informed that part of the flights have not been confirmed. I called and ask what parts have not been confirmed and was informed that none of the flights have been booked, but payment has been made in full.
I got a bit upset at this point, and asked for a refund, which that said will be given in full. But I would expect nothing less, as no flights have been booked.The staff was friendly and helpful, which is a bit of a plus. But I am truly disappointed, I could have booked the same flights on the airlines website it would have cost me a few more bucks but I would have had my booking. Now I have to wait 2 - 4 business days for a refund before I can go and book new flights.
I would not advise using Webjet for bookings.
A surprisingly positive experience with webjet
I would like to share a surprisingly positive experience with webjet.co.nz.
We booked a flight in the EU for 12 July 2025, which was cancelled. Webjet had booked through British Airways, which secured seats through its partner airline Iberian, which passed on the booking through a code share arrangement with Spanish airline Vueling. When Vueling cancelled our flight, they rebooked us onto a later Vueling flight, which they then also cancelled. All of these flights had different booking references.
In search of our refund, we approached Vueling directly, as well as contacting webjet. The human at the other end of the live chat on webjet Australia’s website (which was open and staffed at the time) was extremely helpful. From dim recollection, her screen name might have been Kate?
Initially unable to find any booking for the last cancelled Vueling flight (unsurprisingly), she persevered and followed the trail of booking references to track it down, in a lengthy chat session. Her diligence and reassuring messages were a godsend while we were stuck and stressed out in Madrid Airport at 2am, I can tell you!
Two days ago, Vueling formally declined our direct request for a refund, citing some bogus loophole. We’d almost given up hope. But thanks to webjet, the refund for our cancelled flight arrived back in my account today.
Some of the worst coverage around
Decided to try Webjet for my travel insurance and could not be more disappointment.
One of the key things they don't cover against is your luggage getting delayed on the return journey, so even though I had no clothes/shoes, they refused to cover for any essential items. For context, this is something my basic credit card travel insurance covers for so it seems mad to me that Webjet don't offer this basic cover.
For context, I paid for their highest policy (for what good that actually did)
Waste of money overall and worth paying a little bit more to go with a reputable company instead.
Won't use them again...
On 5th June I booked and paid in full by Credit Card for Air New Zealand flights Christchurch-Toyko return. On 8th June I tried to select seats using the Air NZ App but the booking reference from Webjet didn't exist! Getting nervous at this stage. Phoned Air New Zealand. On the second try, after a 21 minute wait, the help desk agent said the flights were 'Not Confirmed'. He also said this was 'not unusual' for Webjet!!!
I then phoned Webjet help desk and the agent called someone else to action the confirmation. I used Webjet years ago and they were OK, but after this experience I won't be using them again

So disappointed, I never recommend, very bad customer service, lie to customers, airline refund my money to them , keep hold that 12 weeks , I keep asking every time say airline not refund; but airline refund my money 5 working days ; also they deduct lot of money for cancellation, don’t buy any air ticket with them scammed, lie , poor customer service, very unprofessional
Changing Flights and Incorrect Baggage
This has been the most stressful booking I've made online. Even though the service provided by the customer care representative this morning has been superb, I am not very impressed with Webjet.
Firstly, the first flight was changed because Air New Zealand was no longer providing that flight. There was no negotiation on this and I had to apply for a day's leave. Then, a week before the trip the Flight from Perth to JHB was changed to 8 hours earlier. Again, no negotiations and had to change plans I had made in Perth. Finally, my luggage was different for the different parts of the flight, meaning that the checked in luggage for both passengers was omitted.
All this has come at the cost of my time, spending more than one hour and a half on a call to address the luggage issue. It also came at a time of extreme stress levels rising when I am already anxious because of the illness of my 92 year old mother in South Africa whom I am visiting.
I certainly will not be booking with webjet again and will never encourage people to use this service as it is completely unreliable. Having said that, Lawrence was extremely helpful and very understanding.
As an aside, to improve the long time waiting it would help to have much more peaceful music to calm down already stressed out customers.
Worst experience ever
Don't know where to start but they happily put cancelled flights into credit only to find out they want to take half of our credit in fees ($786) we were not told about. After many hours on the phone we hope it has been resolved but won't know until we go to re-book. Will never use their services again and would not recommend them to anyone
Webjet is a scam
We were looking for domestic flights, searched on my son's phone a couple of days earlier and found good prices, went back a couple of days later to purchase the flights to find they had doubled in price. Because this had happened to me before I decided to do the same search on a different phone and found flights listed at the original price. Same search, same time, two different phones... how is this legal? Can't trust Webjet again.

Webjet.co.nz; the worst service or lack thereof I have ever had. I would NEVER deal with them again. I had a flight canceled and their response was bad luck we will refund what you paid or rebook you but that will not be for 3 days, we will not cover any of your costs. We will not book you on another airline if you book on another airline the cost is yours to cover. Meanwhile people who had booked direct with the airline were simply transferred to the next available flight, which was the one I had to pay for and pay dearly as it was a last minute booking at that stage. $1160 NZD to get from Sydney to Auckland for 2 - because the flight we booked on through Webjet was cancelled. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND SERVICE.

I booked a return flight from China to New Zealand, (I fly twice a year from China) webjet left out my 2nd bag which I paid for… this is the 2nd time they have done this, last time they got me to pay for my 2nd bag promising to refund me but this never happened… they lied to my face and I ended up having to embarrass them and force a refund though New Zealand’s payment system. I recommend that book through webjet is not worth the hassle, they are total scammers and their words are just pure lies… it took months to get a refund which had to be forced though New Zealand’s commerce commission because they blantly refused to honour their promises or return emails… even their customer services repeatedly lied to me and never followed through with the refund.
I have found webjet the most dishonest company to deal with, their promises are hollow and their company has proven to be thieves, scammers and dishonest traders… in conclusion don’t use webjet or you will get ripped off.
