Webuyanycar Durham ,thoroughly unpleasant staff and waste of time
Attended Webuyanycar Durham today. Very unpleasant woman saw us, made to feel as though we were trying to cheat her. The car is 6yrs old which is stated on the web before you go but the price estimate is based on a car 2yrs old or less so obviously you get much less when you go. Waste of time and thoroughly unpleasant experience
Pointless exercise
Along with many others, I suspect, I’ve wasted my time with this outfit. Their sole purpose is to try and talk you down from the “carrot” price quoted for your car on the website. Do not even attempt to get a true valuation of your cars worth from these people you’ll only waste your time. Certainly, don’t take decent cars along expecting a respectable offer. They should advertise themselves as
“ We Buy Any Old Banger”
All cars go to auction and not sold on from their site, and so they look for a quick buck at your expense, should you be foolish enough to except their calculated offer.
Their examination of my pristine bodied low mileage Passat and a quick look to see if there was an engine under the bonnet was sufficient to slash its valuation by almost 50%
Their excuse, insufficient regular servicing details, but didn’t bother to look in the service book.
I’m sure he would have found another reason failing that one.
On returning home received a message that read.” Sorry you found our valuation unacceptable.Would you like another one”.
Thinking they might have have second thoughts on that offered, I foolishly ticked the box “Yes” Back came the message “Hope to see you sometime”
My message to those with decent cars for sale is “Don’t bother with their pointless valuations. You’ll only waste your time and energy.
Have just wasted a couple of hours
Have just wasted a couple of hours down at the Morrisons, St. Albans branch of WeBuyAnyCar and strongly recommend that you avoid. The young chap is perfectly pleasant but has no discretion on price except through manager on the phone.
Their business model of enticing you down with a below market value, but just about reasonable online quote (if looking for a quick sale!), is then shattered by a disgraceful offer. I got quoted online initially £2,135 then £1835 to turn up and be offered £706. The Autotrader price for exact make, model, year, mileage and average condition on Autotrader varied between £3350 and £4,100.
My advice don't waste your time cut them out and just go straight to a dealer you are bound to get more!
Shit company! Don't use
Shit company!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.
Get offered £1000 to get there and be offered £250 🤣🤣
Waste of time and the lady knew absolutely nothing at all about cars..
Avoid we buy any car at all costs there full of bullshit
Use motorway instead a million times better then these idiots
Terrible waste of time
Terrible waste of time. After receiving numerous valuations following an initial enquiry which ranged from 950 to 660 £, I finally decided to give it a shot. My car was a 2002 Rav 4 with excellent condition and overall looks for its age. The 30+ mins consultation just went about finding every possible way to devalue it. Most were a joke..it's not a new vehicle!! Never .. never would I go back with a vehicle. Later scrap offers were 3 x their final offer of 100£
Late for appointment and full of what comes out of male cows.
Booked appointment for 3pm, got seen at 3.45. Car has a left flip pedal system so my amputee partner can drive it with her left foot, they knocked £645 off value of car for an adaption which could be removed in minutes, the left accelerator pedal flips up out of the way when right hand pedal is down not affecting performance or handling. The amount taken off is the same as they would take off for a missing seat from a wheelchair adaption. They are not honest, but old fashioned bullshining second hand car salesmen.
Awful business model, bad experience.
Rude, arrogant staff and a truly unpleasant experience.
We stopped at a small local garage on the way home and he bought the car for what we wanted and transferred the money while we waited. We even had a coffee.
My advice is try your friendly local car dealer.
Polite and efficient service.
I was offered 2000 but was expecting to get less. I was offered what I considered a fair price and Kieran explained why it was lower than the initial offer. Overall polite and efficient service. Thank you
Don’t deserve one star
Don’t deserve one star, absolute con artists. Despite saying my car was expected condition for age and below average mileage with full service history they reduced the price from £1650 to £1000. Save your time and energy and avoid. Also, the staff member at Swindon Orbital was more interested in eating her McD hamburger than giving good service.
They are a scam company
They offered a guaranteed price online from when we previously took the car in. When we have contacted them, they said it’s not guaranteed and to read the fine print. When challenged them on their policy’s and the fine print actually says the price will stand. They then become rude and patronising, and refuse to provide any contact details for management, after allegedly just coming off the phone from management. They are a scam company and I would highly recommend not selling with them. They change the price, have terrible customer service skills and their staff speak to you like you’re 4 years old.
Hyundai Iqonic 5 Hybrid joke offer
Had a 2021 Hyundai Iqonic 5 Hybrid with 13,000 miles on it. I got a valuation of £12,500 on line from WBAC. Replied that this was too low but I thought if they saw it, I may be able to negotiate with them.
Booked an appointment and went along to the inspection. They said the car was in A class condition but then offered me £11,670
I told them what to do with their offer.
Took the car to Arnold Clark and got £14,440 for it.
AC were professional and friendly and honest.
Night and day compared to Webuyanycar
Offered £875 online then offered £450 when I got there! Awful
Offered £875 online got there he said £450 my car has full service history,2 keys, mot etc but because of a few marks on exterior (nothing major for its age ,he practically halved the price! What a waste of my time, sell private if you can
Don’t waste your time with this company!
I was offered £6,685 for my 7 year old car before my visit but after several minutes the young lady picked out three chip marks & took £600 off the original quote. Don’t waste your time with this company!
They offered me £395 for a car that's…
They offered me £395 for a car that's worth £1,200+would not recommend these scammers
This outfit is disgusting and just try to robb you, the car has low mileage and is amazing condition for it's age
Avoid these crooks at all costs.
Be very careful before you agree
Be very careful before you agree, you will not get your quoted price unless your car is in perfect condition. The company offered me increasing quotes until I took my car to them, then they knocked off money for every scratch and blemish in the paintwork. I was eventually offered about one third of the original quote. They never checked the engine, brakes, lights, none of the functional parts, and this on a 19 year old car in perfect working order. I feel cheated and regret having to accept such "service".
Don't Waste Your Time
I read the reviews of Webuyanycar.com instead of webuyanycar.uk. My experience matches those of previous reviewers. I was given a valuation of £940 for my BMW, I then updated it to reflect the fact it only had a partial service history, 1 key and less than months MOT and the valuation was £745. There are no warning lights or issues with the car and it has been well loved. On arrival at my appointment they offer £260 for the car, saying that the valuation is based on the car being showroom condition. I don't know any car from 2011 that would be considered showroom condition. As others have said don't waste your time - they are offering scrap values for cars.
Would give less than 1 star for the…
Would give less than 1 star for the offer given . Absolute joke ! Never been so insulted by an offer when selling a car . Would get offered more for scrap !!!
No appointment in system
I had an appointment booked today and took a half day from work. I had the WhatsApp confirmation and email confirmation but they didn’t have the booking in the system. They tried phoning a manager but he said they couldn’t do it. This was in the Rutherglen branch. I paid for insurance for today and I’m now going to have to pay more insurance until I sell it now. What a waste of a half day off work.
We buy any car - Locks Heath
We buy any car - Locks Heath, Southampton. Absolute time wasters and thieves.
For those of you that have never experienced the misfortune, let me save you the trouble and experience.
The company - they own Cinch and largely supply directly to British car auctions (BCA). This means they supply cars that traders go to bid on in the auction halls. They need to buy them as cheaply as possible to make any money and here are the tricks they will use to do it.
You will get an estimate by email and text showing you what your car is really worth if you were to trade it to a sensible, reputable dealer. What they then do is grade the car. Now I’ve had some experience at the auctions so I’m in the know. Now grading runs from 1-5 with 1 being near on showroom. They will knock every scratch, calcium water mark etc. I have a 2021 car with 30k on the clock. Its prestige, unmarked and the opening offer was £9300. All in line with the trade book.
What happens next…..
‘We have to do a video review so my mechanic can finalise the grading, rev it to 2,500 revs and I will send him the video’. We send the video, and this mechanic apparently with the ears of an elephant and psychic powers can tell, there maybe a modification !! Nope it’s a standard factory build car with papers that prove it and a service record to match. Utter nonsense.
£9,300 becomes £7,100.
Save yourself an hour of their tricks and lies. Needless to say, off I went to a fabulous dealer down the road Peter Nash Cars, who offered exactly what they said they would without any of the bullshit.
You have been warned.
Stay well clear.
If I could rate 0 I would. Absolutely disgraceful company that takes advantage of people hoping they’re desperate so they can rip them off. Was offered £4815 for my car which was already on the low end as other sites had offered £5,500, but due to how easy it sounded to sell here I was going to take the risk and hope they would bump up the price to match or at least come close, my car was in perfect condition, two sets of keys and spare wheel and low mileage, after bringing it down to them the staff member pointed out a tiny spec of rust on the fuel cap that was no bigger than the end of a pencil (which by the way once getting home came straight off with t-cut) said that that was signs of wear and tear and offered me an insulting £3,485. Since declining the offer I’ve been bombarded with texts with them slightly increasing by a total of £150, and because Ive been ignoring them now they’ve text me to offer an even lower amount of £3,300! Likely just to rub it in my face. Disgusting behaviour.
