I live in Florida

I live in Florida. One chat with Chris Wing and I knew he had honor and integrity. We discussed my extensive collection and he knew the value. His offer in writing was $6000 higher than cashforarms.com I took a 14 hour drive to meet the man and hand deliver my guns. He brought 3 employees in on thier DAY OFF just to accommodate me! My check was ready and handed to me. I would not recommend anyone else and I owned a gun store for 11 years!

Not recommended - flipping guns for cash

You should be aware that this shop receives their guns from people sending their firearms via mail to them. The shop has a short look on them, put a price tag on, end of story. That's the "process", no more no less, there is no quality check or anything else, 20 seconds if the gun is mechanical clear, that's it. No check on history or else at all where the guns came from and what happened to them. You always buy the seller but in this case you never know who owned the gun. The shop's fine print excludes every liability you can think of and they mean it. Literally mean it. That means if everything's fine, good. If something is wrong or you want for your peace of mind a gunsmith inspect the firearm, as the shop themselves point out as mandatory before shooting the gun in their fine print, and there are any issues or other things additionally to the typical dents and dings the used gun is just like that at minimum at the price tag of the new gun including manufacturer warranty etc. In the sales process statements are made which are at least questionable, typical general sales talk, no real information exceeding what you can see with your bare eyes on your own, hence again the fine print kicks in. That being said overall you should be aware that the financial risk is completely on the buyers side. Therefore for only 20-30% less than a new gun everybody has to make up their own mind if thats worth to buy a used gun in general and especially at this shop. In my personal opinion there are far better shops with used guns and a peace of mind included and not just flipping guns for cash with a really high turnover.

First, I must say that we know the writer of this review; I can tell by nature of the review and what is being described. Unfortunately, key details have been omitted, so I will fill the gaps:

He came into our store and spent over an hour looking at a used firearm. He, along with multiple employees, tested the trigger and function of a Springfield pistol multiple times. It was in perfect mechanical order when he purchased the pistol and left the store with it. He came back a few days later claiming the trigger was malfunctioning. We asked that he contact Springfield. He emailed us several days later claiming it would need to be repaired due to "hidden" defects. We informed him that, based on our policies, we do not warranty any "used" firearm sold in our store. However, we would do so on this occasion, but moving forward, he would need to understand that "used" firearms are sold "as is", which is a very common position taken by gun stores. He told us he was happy that we would cover the repair (by the way, a gesture we have offered on many occasions to our customers in the past) and he would send the fireman in.

A week or two later, we received a notice from our bank that he was disputing the full charge of the pistol due to the "defect". Yes, this was after we told him we would pay to have the firearm repaired. We sent him an email asking why he would file a chargeback for the pistol even after we told him we'd agree to repair it. Additionally, we told him that he now was in a possession of a firearm he had not paid for (as the funds were withdrawn from our account) and he'd need to return it immediately. He sent us a very unhinged response, claiming the chargeback was placed before contacting us with the trigger issue as a "just in case"... I contacted the bank processor who confirmed the chargeback was placed 2 days after I told him I would pay for the repair. I also contacted my ATF agent to report the issue. He agreed that if, after disputing the chargeback, we did not receive either our money or the firearm, he would go recover the pistol. After 2-3 weeks of having our funds withheld from us, we finally received a note from the processor that our appeal to the chargeback had been approved (based on the evidence we provided); our funds were subsequently returned to us. Despite all of this, I still mailed him a check covering the cost of the repair, along with a letter asking that he please not return to the store (the first and only such letter I have had to send to a customer in more than 11 years of operation). In response, we get this review.

Good experience

Submitted photo and description of my firearm. They quickly gave me an offer. I had about 2 weeks to look at other selling options prior to accepting offer. I felt it was a fair price offer and accepted. They had me print out pre-paid FedEx shipping label. Dropped it off and in a few days they inspected firearm, agreed with my description and asked how I wanted my payment. You can get a check or i think they can deposit to your bank account. Due to lack of personal knowledge of the company, I opted for a slower check mailing instead of supplying bank info. Check was mailed promptly and the funds were good. Overall fairly painless and I didnt have to deal with all the online auction fees/nonsense. I may have gotten higher price on auction site, but the simplicity was worth the difference
