Thank you for the kind words and for taking the time to review WeFile — we're pleased the filing itself was quick and straightforward.

On terminology, it's worth knowing that help is already built into the wizard: on both the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet steps, every field label has a small information icon next to it. Tapping or hovering over it opens a short explanation of exactly what that line covers — for example what belongs in cost of raw materials and consumables versus other charges, or what should be included in debtors and creditors — so you can be confident the right figures are going in the right place. The same information icons appear on the tax adjustments, capital allowances and company details steps too.

We appreciate the feedback that this wasn't obvious enough, and we're looking at making the explanations more prominent so they're not easy to miss.

If any particular line was unclear, do let us know which one and we'll happily talk you through it — and improve the wording for everyone.

Making the Corporation Tax return feel straightforward is genuinely the hard part of what we do. Most people filing for a small company are not accountants and should not have to become one just to answer a question about a box number, so a lot of work goes into the signposting, the plain-English prompts and the automatic tax calculation. It's good to know that came through.

The support side matters just as much to us. We read every message ourselves and will happily go through your figures line by line before you submit, because it is far better to sort something out beforehand than to file an amendment afterwards. Please do come back to us any time, whether it's a quick question or a full review of the numbers.

Thank you for the review — and the cost point is a fair one. HMRC withdrew their free joint filing service on 31 March 2026, so commercial software became compulsory. We'd rather it hadn't, so we kept our price as low as we could: £25 for a trading company, £15 for a dormant one, covering both HMRC and Companies House.

Glad the process itself was smooth, and good to hear the signposting and info bubbles helped — that was the intention. Do tell us if anything could be clearer.

Thank you — that is exactly what we set out to do.

We built WeFile because the cost of getting a small company's CT600 and accounts filed felt out of proportion to the work involved, particularly for micro businesses and dormant companies. Keeping it at £25 for a trading company and £15 for a dormant one was a deliberate decision, and we have no intention of moving away from it.

We are glad you found it straightforward as well as affordable. If anything ever looks unclear in the wizard, do tell us — feedback from users filing their own accounts is what shapes what we improve next.

Thank you for the kind words — that's exactly what we set out to build. Keeping the input to a minimum is the whole point: we pull your accounting periods, company details and officers straight from Companies House so you're not retyping information the registrar already holds, and the corporation tax, marginal relief and iXBRL tagging are all worked out for you.

And you're quite right about the caveat — the return is only as accurate as the record it's built on. If a name change, address change or shortened accounting reference date hasn't yet worked its way through to Companies House, WeFile will faithfully reflect what's on the register. If anything ever looks out of step, our support team is happy to take a look and get you filed.

Thank you — that's exactly what we set out to build.

We're really pleased the process felt familiar. When HMRC retired its own free filing service, small companies were left having to use commercial software, so our whole aim was to keep the journey as close as possible to what people were already used to — plain instructions, no jargon, and no accountant required for a straightforward small-company filing.

On your question: the added complexity isn't really of HMRC's choosing so much as a consequence of the CT600 and iXBRL accounts standards they're obliged to accept. Our job is to hide that machinery from you, and it sounds like we managed it here.

We're really pleased the whole journey — registration through to HMRC and Companies House submission — went so quickly for you.

Good to hear the QuickBooks import earned its keep, too. It's one of the features we're most proud of, as pulling in a trial balance directly removes a lot of the tedious re-keying.

Your point about the disallowed expense and the capital loss is well taken. If you got there via a Google search rather than through our own guidance, that's on us, and we'll look at making the in-wizard help around adjustments and capital losses clearer.

On price: we have no plans to change it. Keeping CT600 and accounts filing affordable for smaller companies is the whole reason WeFile exists.

We are pleased the CT600A (s455) pages worked well for you alongside your s413 director advances note. Supplementary pages are included in the standard per-filing price rather than charged as an add-on, precisely because a director's loan is such a common feature of a small company's return and we did not think it warranted a premium.

You are right that reviewing every document before anything is sent is central to how we work: the accounts, the CT600 and the tax computation are all there to check, and nothing goes to HMRC or Companies House until you are satisfied.

We are also glad the support tickets were useful. Several of the points customers raise in tickets do turn into product changes, and yours were no exception — that feedback loop is one of the more valuable things we get from users like you.
