Full on tour

The trip was very expensive but well organised Our guide in china Penny was excellent as were her local guide it was full lots of walking The hotels were good
Japan was disappointing we only had one guide who struggled with such a large group no local guides. Too much time allowed for shopping. We went to myajama the tide was in so pointless visiting as the temple underwater so waisted half a day the guide should have known.

I would love to live in Japan. The people are delightful, helpful and everywhere is spotless.
Our tour guide, Mari was not only informative and knowledgeable about a wide variety of things but she was such a lovely lady.
The hotels were very good.
We had a wide variety of experiences from making rice paper to experiencing a Tea Ceremony.
Wonderful scenery to the hustle of Tokyo. Castles, Temples, historically interesting places and a variety of food from Japanese to western food.
Wedywu tour company was excellent in every way including replying very quickly to emails and answering queries on the 'phone.
A fabulous experience in every way.
We would have no hesitation at all in recommending Wendywu tour company and would use them again without hesitation

Absolute trip of a lifetime to the roof of the world!
Our recent Tibetan Railroad tour with Wendy Wu Tours exceeded every single expectation. Traveling through such a remote, high-altitude region could easily feel a bit daunting, but Wendy Wu’s seamless logistics turned it into a completely stress-free, magical adventure.
The 21-hour overnight train journey from Xining to Lhasa on the world's highest railway is an absolute engineering marvel and a true bucket-list experience. Watching the dramatic landscapes of the Tibetan Plateau, frozen plains, and soaring mountains fly past our window as we crossed the 5,072m Tanggula Pass was unforgettable. From exploring Lhasa to watching the sunrise over the Himalayas, everything was beautifully handled by the ground team. The itinerary was a perfect mix of culture, history, religion, and nature, giving us a real feel for this sacred land.
The accommodations throughout the trip were clean, comfortable, and well-located. Each hotel had its own unique vibe—we loved the traditional Tibetan decor at our hotel in Lhasa, and the Shigatse hotel with its cool AI-controlled rooms was a fun surprise!
One of Wendy Wu's biggest selling points is definitely their expert guides, who truly elevate the whole experience.
George, our National Guide, was an absolute superstar. His organisation was flawless, his energy kept the group motivated, and he made sure everything behind the scenes ran like clockwork. He even brought a flask of coffee along for us on our long journeys, which was such a lovely touch!
Once we arrived in Tibet, Puntsok, our local guide, brought the region to life. His deep personal knowledge of Buddhist traditions, local lifestyles, and the history of places like the Potala Palace gave us an authentic insight we never could have found in a guidebook.
On top of that, their care regarding altitude sickness was amazing. They constantly offered practical tips, monitored everyone's well-being, and kept a comfortable pace so everyone felt safe. This was especially true when my husband fell ill at Everest Base Camp. Within minutes, they had an ambulance organised, Puntsok booked a hotel in town, and George accompanied us the entire time. We felt incredibly well cared for.
I definitely have to mention the food, too! We loved gathering around the 'Lazy Susan' tables to try diverse regional cuisines and authentic local Tibetan dishes. That said, as vegetarians, we struggled a bit at first with the lack of veggie options and portion sizes. While there were usually 4 or 5 meat dishes, we only had 1 or 2 veggie ones (not counting blanched veg or salad). Sometimes, by the time a dish made its way around the table to us, it was already empty or had been mixed with meat cutlery. After struggling with this for a bit, we mentioned it to George and Puntsok. They immediately stepped in and went above and beyond, making sure we either had separate meals at certain restaurants or letting us grab our food before everyone else so we could eat properly.
A final shout-out goes to our driver in Tibet. What a talented young man! I was amazed by how calm and collected he stayed while navigating hundreds of hairpin bends, some 4,000m above sea level, acting as if he was just out riding a bike.
And, what a fantastic group of travellers we've had! I can't forget the laughs we've had about my night wear choice, the stories we shared and the wonderful friendships we made along the way. Traveling with such like-minded people made the long journeys fly by, and those shared moments really turned a great holiday into an unforgettable one!
This is my 2nd tour with Wendy Wu and I have Bhutan & Napal short stays booked for April 2027. And it won't be the last.
If you are thinking about booking this trip, just do it. Wendy Wu handles all the heavy lifting so you can just enjoy the awe-inspiring beauty of Tibet!

Overall enjoyable and well managed with lovley hotels and guides.
However, long midday meals cut short time at experiences and not being able to eat at the hotels that we were staying at made the evening meals stressful in terms of no relaxation time in the evenings

I am, however, sorry to learn that some aspects of the itinerary did not fully meet your expectations. We appreciate your comments regarding the length of some lunch stops and the impact this had on the time available at certain attractions. We carefully balance the touring schedule throughout the day, but I understand how you may have preferred more time at some of the experiences.
I also appreciate your feedback regarding the evening meal arrangements. When designing our tours, we try to strike a balance between dining in hotels and eating in local restaurants, as we believe experiencing the local cuisine and dining culture is an important part of discovering a destination. However, I completely understand your point that travelling out for dinner after a full day of sightseeing can sometimes reduce the opportunity to relax and unwind during the evening.
Your feedback is invaluable, as it helps us continually review the balance between sightseeing, dining experiences and downtime to ensure we deliver the best possible holiday experience for our guests.

We had a wonderful trip to China and Tibet with Wendy Wu. Although only a small group of 10 we all got on extremely well but the absolute star of the show was our guide George who went over and above all our expectations. From his extensive knowledge to making fresh coffee on the bus d x everything in between he was 5 star! I would give him a gold medal without further thought.
The tour was well organised , the hotels were all excellent and the food was always plentiful and delicious. We learnt a lot about Buddhism and saw many many temples and monasteries, all at considerable heights so beware if you don’t enjoy walking up numerous steps! I cannot rate this tour highly enough and again thank you George for making it so memorable.

Wonderful holiday with Wendy wu- Tibetan railroad
The warm hospitality extended by George, who welcomed us at the airport and became our guide, continued without a moment’s lapse until the very end of our tour, when he saw us safely back inside the airport.
George’s hospitality made us feel like very special guests throughout the entire journey.
All the hotels we stayed in were unique and of a very high standard. The selection of places we were taken to was excellent. Every day, we were given detailed information about where we would be going the following day, what the weather would be like, and what kind of clothing we should wear. This enabled us to prepare ourselves well and made the entire trip very well organised.
Each and every guest received individual attention and care.
The bus that took us around was extremely comfortable. Whenever needed, we were also treated to coffee and soft drinks.
When two of us, including myself, became unwell during the tour, George stayed by our side with the care and concern of a close relative, or even more. He personally took us to the hospital and made all the necessary arrangements for our treatment.
Guides like George, who are exceptionally friendly, caring and approachable, are one of the key reasons behind the success of Wendy Wu. The fact that the company has identified and selected such suitable and dedicated guides is a clear reflection of the excellence of its management.
Our heartfelt appreciation goes to George and the entire Wendy Wu team for making our journey so comfortable, memorable and special.

We recently went to Borneo with Wendy…
We recently went to Borneo with Wendy Wu Highly recommend by travel agent expensive so I expected hotels to be of a high standard first couple of hotels were lovely , then we stayed in a hotel which was great location but hotel was tired and meals were there 3 evenings first eve food was cold so we choose to eat after . Some of the restaurants were nice but most of them were not great .The guides were really good very knowledgeable. Our iternary had to be changed due to wild fires. However Wayne did his best to find us places to visit.
The Jungle accommodation was lovely and a great experience however the food wasn't the best .
I would not book with Wendy Wu the cut backs really noticed and I feel it wasn't worth what we paid . Probaly would have the same experience with a different tour operator for half the price .
I have given 4 stars for the guides small group.

Our Gems of China Tour with Wendy Wu…
Our Gems of China Tour with Wendy Wu Tours was excellent, and our National Guide, Linda, made the tour even better with all her help and additional information. The hotels were great, and the group gelled very well. We were slightly worried about the physical activity mentioned in the itinerary, but Linda gave the group options that suited individuals' physical ability which meant that everyone in the group had a brilliant experience. Highly recomend the tour company and this specific tour.

This was our third tour with Wendy Wu and once again they delivered. Great guides, great hotels, great food and a tour to remember. We saw a wide range of sites and the guides were very knowledgeable telling us about the area we were in as well as life in China and the culture. From booking to arriving home they had everything covered.

I recently went on the China Delight tour, and overall, the tour was filled with lots of “delight”!
The hotels were good, and the transportation between cities was comfortable and well organised. The national tour guide, Louis, was excellent. He clearly loved his job and was very passionate about what he did. He delivered the entire tour with great enthusiasm and genuinely put his heart into it. His knowledge of China was phenomenal, and he was always willing to share interesting information and answer questions.
The main criticism I have is regarding the food. We had 16 breakfasts, 16 lunches and 16 dinners. The breakfasts were buffet-style and generally good. However, the 29 lunches and dinners were predominantly Chinese food, with many of the same dishes repeated throughout the tour. Dishes such as stir-fried cabbage, sweet and sour meat, plain egg omelette, green beans, broccoli and mushrooms appeared repeatedly, sometimes every day. After a while, the meals became quite repetitive.
I feel the dining experience could be greatly improved by offering more variety, including different regional Chinese dishes as we travelled through different parts of China, as well as perhaps a few Western options occasionally.
Overall, the itinerary was good, although there is room for improvement. The hotels and transportation were good, and Louis was an outstanding tour guide who really enhanced the experience.
Most importantly, China itself is an amazing country with so much to see and experience. It is definitely a must-visit destination, and I would recommend visiting China.
